Very frustrating experience. Still dealing with random glitches way more often than expected where you have no control over the screen that I paid to repair, like can't even hang up a call or barely get your phone to restart because the screen won't detect any use or tapping happening so it's basically useless until you can kill the battery or hopefully get it to snap out of whatever faultiness it is going through. Even getting the repair done was misleading and annoying. The repair shop employee or owner was not true to his word on when it would be done, blaming the parts that were received and taking no responsibility in ordering the wrong parts. Very bad communication! I called him multiple times from my dad's phone and e-mailed, as he was supposed to keep me updated via either source and never did and only called back very late in the day like right before closing. Had me come to pick up the phone only to tell me once I arrived that he had just opened the parts received and realized he couldn't do anything. He said I would have to come back, but to try to be a big sport and make up for the inconvenience he said he would throw in a plastic screen cover. Once he was actually able to get my screen repaired, & came back begrudgingly to pick it up, he said the wrong phone screen cover arrived, again taking zero responsibility and not seeing how ridiculous he sounded. He told me I could return once again to get that once he re-ordered - had nothing in Stock. I declined, as I would never want to return to this establishment ever again! Still receiving random and kinda frequent issues with my screen functioning normally makes it all the more maddening that I put up with this process in the first place. Should've bought a new phone! Save your money for that & skip the nonsense in doing business with "I-Fix-A-Phone" because they barely do! read more

I have not written a review in quite awhile, but the great attention I received at I-Fix-A-Phone on Bee Ridge, compelled me to do so. I wanted a glass cover on my S22+ phone and I remembered I had been here for my former phone and the service was great. This time around did not disappoint! The service tech was kind and ordered the glass for me and I went back a day later and he very carefully gave me my glass cover. This wasn't any big deal, but the way I was treated and his attention to my phone's needs, impressed me greatly. Read this If you're thinking of going. It's long , so if you don't have the time, look at the last paragraph. Run, don't walk away from this place. They were ok when they fixed a screen maybe 8 months ago, but this time was a disaster. The screen was fixed but in the process they said they'd found my battery was "in danger of catching on fire". It had started not holding a charge as long as it had initially, so we ok'd a battery replacement. Supposedly they put in a brand new Apple iPad battery, but it didn't hold a charge at times for more than a few minutes, so I wonder about how new it was. They took it back and replaced it. By now iI'd been without a working IPad for a week, so when I got it back and noticed the main button was now slightly out of level I let it slide. Mistake, because a couple of weeks later it ceased functioning . Brought it back, and their first reaction was that I'd broken it. Finally got it back 5 days later, with them saying how nice they'd been to fix it for free but they'd been the ones who'd broken it! And now it works only intermittently, so $250 later I have a useless IPad Pro. When I was there an irate woman (who'd just called the police) ;came in saying that the phone was that she'd dropped off, wasn't what she'd been given back (broken case and another color), and that she'd confirmed it with Apple in that its ID was different from that on file as hers. A different tech had taken the phone when dropping it off, but current tech was insistent it was hers. Claiming they could confirm it via camera recording he called the original tech. According to her, during this call she heard him saying they'd erase the tape. You be the judge, but the questionable "new" Apple battery, this woman's purported experience, and other Yelp reviews says to me they're a place to steer clear of under all circumstances. read more

I've had my Apple iphone for several years with a protective cover, and over time the cover became a little dinged. So I heard for $10 I could get a new protective cover. After one drop (a week later), the cover AND my glass screen was cracked! I gave them the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to bad luck. I took it back, and they replaced the glass screen and gave me a new protective cover - - for $110! They assured me they use the best materials - - as good as the original phone. Anyway, another minor drop and now my entire glass screen is once again cracked! So, no issues for several years, and now two major and expensive issues within 2 weeks. BEWARE ! You take your phone to I-fix-a-phone and they will create more problems with your phone to get you back in the store because your phone still doesn't work. Here's what happened to me. My phone would not charge, removed SIM card half dozen times then reinstalled, thinking it would 'jump start' the phone. No luck, went to I-fix-a-phone on Bee Ridge. She told me there is a $25 charge to basically analyze the phone. I had requested she transfer a battery from one phone to another. Reason being I had two of the same phones. The reason I have an unused new battery is because I went to this same fix-it guy a year ago, he said 'oh, you need a new battery' $40 bucks, turns out battery wasn't the problem. I was told well, it's basically not returnable by the time we pay re-stock fee. So, I'm stuck with a battery I don't need, but now hopefully it may work in same brand but different cell phone. So $25 later, I leave, hoping with new battery installed the phone will charge and my troubles will be over. I got home, phone still is not right, not charging - My son checked the phone and said the SIM card is missing ! THE PHONE WILL NEVER, EVER WORK WITHOUT THE SIM CARD.... THIS IS THEIR WAY OF GETTING ME BACK INTO THE STORE BECAUSE MY PHONE DOESN'T WORK ! and guess what, another charge to analyze the problem. I know the SIM card was there before I went to fix-it-guy - I had taken it out that same day about six times. This is the second phone I've had worked on at I-Fix-A-Phone on Bee Ridge - I still have both phones, although neither are working at the moment, and SIM Cards are missing from both phones after having visited fix-a -phone ! Interesting way to generate "repeat business" !!! I'll be going back for my missing SIM card and I'll be taking my son with me. This is a totally dishonest way to keep the customer coming back! I'll see how fix-it-phone explains this one! I recently had video issues with my 2011 MacBook Pro. This is a known problem as far as Apple is concerned, but because the computer is so old, the local authorized Mac repair center couldn't perform the repair. He referred me to Sam at I-fix A-phone. Sam took my computer in, repaired the video chip, added more RAM, updated my operating system and updated my Microsoft Office Suite, all at a fraction of the cost of a new MacBook Pro!!! I got my computer back a few weeks ago and have been using it regularly ever since with no problems whatsoever!!! This is like a brand new laptop and I couldn't be happier!!! This service, at 2245 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, is a God-send! A few years ago I dropped my iPad and shattered the screen. Prematurely, I went to an Apple store and bought a new one, but couldn't seem to transfer all my notes, photos, etc., from the old iPad to the new one, so I gave up on that attempted process. (The Apple store personnel were clearly not geared to help/relate to customers, but only to sell.) I'm not sure how I spotted I Fix a Phone, but am grateful once again, today, as my same original iPad's "home" button recently lost all sensitivity. I took it to these infallibly nice people, returned in two hours, and now have a "like new" and responsive home button. I suspect they did more than just clean the button area, but in lieu of charging me more than expected, it's my privilege to continue to encourage people to go to this store for analysis and therapy for not just phones, tablets and iPads, but also for (as their ads now say) game consoles and more. read more

One word. Horrible! The guy (Russian or Hungarian) was the most rude person I have ever had the pleasure to talk to. Personality like a garbage can. He was snappy as soon as we said hello to him. All we wanted to do was get our IPAD repaired and we run into this d*ck. Great.. Here's the story. We had the screen on our IPAD replaced 9 months ago. About a month after the initial repair the screen started to come off. We took it back and they repaired it without a problem. Around 2 months after that the screen started doing funny things like jump around or make screen selections even though nothing was touching it. We brought it back again but because it was sporadic it decided to behave when they had it. They said if it happens again bring it back. But we didn't because it was so random. A few more months go by.. now what was the occasional thing is so bad it now renders the IPAD almost useless. Today we went back and run into "Vladimir the Disgruntled" Apparently they offer a 30day warranty for all repairs. I can understand Labor for the replacement, but there should be a better manufacturers warranty for the screen especially considering the problems we had. It's disappointing the screen quit working, but what made it worse was the attitude we received. What was a place I used to recommend is now the opposite. I came her to have a buttons fixed on my otherwise perfect iPhone. Before I came everything was working perfectly on my phone besides that button. Dropped it off for repair and came back a half hour later to pick it up. Greg, the person who "fixed" my phone said he broke the battery in the process and gave me a new one for free as if I was lucky to get a new piece that HE broke. The button worked though so I paid and took my phone home. About an hour later I got a call from work and couldn't hear anything on the other end. The person on the other end couldn't hear me either. Later that night I tried to take a picture (I use my phone a LOT for work) and the camera was black. Same for FaceTime. The next day I tried to use my flashlight and it didn't work either! I couldn't bring my phone back on for a few days because I'm busy with work most of my week. I brought it back today, the first chance I had, and Greg acts like it was something I did to my phone! Couldn't fix it and was trying to charge me to fix what he broke anyways! I would not recommend this place. They don't seem to know what they're doing and do not even take care of their mistakes. Had my iPhone 6 screen replaced, only to find out that it was replaced improperly (the home button / touch screen sensor was not the matching one for the phone therefore locking me out of all firmware). Had phone looked at by an apple professional and was told the issue, returned to iFixaphone to see if they had my original part or could help remedy my issue, but was instead met with snotty attitudes and full disregard for the issue they had caused. They blamed the entire issue on the phone being opened and told me that me and my local verizon store had made a mistake and had broken my phone. Their idea to help remedy the issue was to sell me another screen for $160 which they knew would not work and to slander the company i had do diagnostics on my phone. Six months ago I gave two lap tops to a repair boy on Savage Rd who lives next to a friend. Two weeks later he gave on back with no change at all, charged me $80. and still has not returned the other.He claimed he would return/refund everything but only communication since then was a violent text (which I still have) and avoidance. My experience with I-fix-A-phone was absolutely unacceptable. The employees were not friendly and unprofessional. I walked in on a Saturday asking to have my cracked iPhone 6 be repaired. I waited two hours and returned not having the screen replaced, excuses of not having enough screens to repair the phone. The employees promised that new screens would be delivered in on Monday. I returned to the store on Monday at three o'clock in the afternoon. They just gave more excuses saying the replacement screens were not delivered yet, but were being delivered in the next 45 minutes. They promised me that my phone would be fixed that same day, so I left it at the store. I returned to the store to pick up my phone three hours later at six o'clock, still the phone was not fixed. They gave me another excuse that the screen order did not come in. The employees should have taken an emergency number to reach me instead of letting me wait another 3 hours and thinking my phone was getting fixed. This was so unprofessional, the business should not run out of screens for an iPhone six and continue to promise a replacement. Also the employees were extremely rude and short. Leaving the store I noticed my phone had additional cracks! I don't recommend ever using this business for any repairs. read more
