I have no idea if they actually know anything about apple products because they never showed up. No one was at the store when it had a sign saying open at 10. I don't often write reviews, however I'd to say, this is a great place to go for help with laptop, especially for my MAC! SOOO much better than waiting in line at the APPLE STORE or going to Best Buy, where I've bought prior and did not trust they actually gave me a NEW computer, although paid for one back in 2020. Nick and his wife, Melissa are well equipped to handle any issue with one's technology items! I felt they were very trustworthy, knowledgeable in many many areas and provided good solutions to all my issues including not wanting to leave my computer for too long a time! Brutal experience. They told me they could fix my device after I sent a detailed description and pictures via email. Dropped it off and hear nothing for 5 days until I had to call them. Then they quoted me a repair price that was higher then it cost to buy a new one. Their response was "sorry that's what the owner says the price is" ...because that's helpful. I declined service and said I would be in to pick it up next day. Showed up and they gave it back to me in pieces! Asked for it to be put back together and they said no one there could do it, they brought me out a screwdriver to do it myself! In short, terrible service and high prices. Stay far away! read more

Terrible.The owner called me at home to say he'd be in all the next day and to come anytime to pick up my computer. Nick never showed up. Not one employee ever showed up. I went by twice and met with other customers who were also stuck waiting for him to show. He never did. Worse, he left a couple of phone numbers which I tried dozens of times and he never picked up. When I did come in the next day to get my computer, all they could say was, "Well, we're here now." (Oh, and pay the full bill immediately.) I would never have trusted my computer to someone with such little regard for basic rules of decency. The Apple Core will never get my business again and nor do they deserve yours. read more

This place is terrible. They lied to us. Packed charges to us. Caused us to drive the 75 miles (one way) 5 times to their place while they lied even about their hours of operation. This place is the worst place I've ever dealt with in 35 years as a tech, and a MCSE. The managers and even the owner are conmen and crooks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS JOINT. I am reporting them to apple as well. In response to Nick's response: First: here is what your store did to run the CEO of the company who I referred to you based on your Yelp rating. In her own words. She writes on Friday, Apr. 26-2029"I get to the apple core and they are closed. Sign on the door says close at 3 today due to Greek authodox holiday. They knew I was leaving at 2 and it will take me two hours to get here I asked the manager twice what time they close today he said 6. I will come back on Monday" Second: Your "client" is a non profit company who I was donating tech time to to help them out by installing new SSD drives into two of their computers. That is how I came into your business. I referred her to you based on your ratings on Yelp. This was explained to you before which by the way is really no concern of yours as you were hired to replace one screen and put the adhesive into the screen of another screen. That's all you had to do. What happened before you were hired is none of your business. THIRDLY. You have the audacity to call me a crook? This shows how immature and crooked you really are. A crook cons money out of people through lies and deceit. Which is exactly what you and your staff did to this customer. And then tried to blame me, their tech, for the problem you caused as was proved there in your shop. A crook would make an error and then refuse to admit the error and then force the customer to pay for it. Knowing that they are desperate to get the work you promised to do for a pre arranged quote (Which you also did not honor). I could go on here. But I stand by my review. If you would like to take this further, I'm retired and have plenty of time. You on the other hand should not be in business. Now you should go and get your friends to jack up your rating again. MacBook Pro wouldn't boot up due to coffee spill. I brought my laptop to Apple Core for evaluation. The keyboard had to be replaced and fortunately the motherboard was okay. I've been in the market for a new laptop as mine was almost 7 years old, getting very slow, and I'm very familiar with Mac's and, yes, they are expensive. Apple Core broke down the cost of upgrading my MacBook Pro and virtually re-building it to the speed and capacity of a brand new 13" but at much less the cost. He updated my bootcamp with Windows 10 and transferred all my information on the a new 500 GB hard drive. Laptop screams with speed now, runs absolutely great. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my Mac back to Apple Core should I need to. read more

This place is so helpful! Nick and Melissa are very knowledgeable, and their customer service is on point. I came to them for a water-damaged iPhone 5 last year, and I recently cracked the screen on my new iPhone 6, which they did a great job fixing. Instead of just gluing on a new piece of cheap knock-off glass like more tech repair shops in the area, they use high-quality authentic Apple products. Great products, great value, great people. Based upon my wife's very good experience last year with her computer, I contacted Severo Rivera at Apple Core to transfer all of my data, applications, etc. from my eight-year-old iMac to a new M1 mini. He then spent attentive one-on-one time guiding me in cleaning up my files and training me on aspects of the new machine. He gave me good (but not high-pressure) advice on upgrading my backup disk drive and keyboard. I highly recommend Severo and Apple Core. read more

I hesitate to write a review on this company because I'm not real computer savvy but I do know whats right and whats wrong. My experience was just plain wrong! Our Company called AppleCore after we completed our move to the Sarasota area. We had left our old IT guy in Michigan and need someone reliable to help us through some rough patches with both our software and hardware on an ongoing basis. We called and Nick offered to come out to talk to us. What we didn't know is that his sales call would cost $400. But OK...we should have asked. During that visit we came to the conclusion that we needed to rebuild our Mac Mini server... It'll be $2-300 we were told. When Nick brought it back the rebuild cost $840...to rebuild our Mac Mini that cost $500 new! Granted we did get a solid state hard drive but they didn't touch the ram and our mini didn't speed up because we still only had 4 Mb of RAM. This is all just money at this point but then we discovered that the transfer had not been completed and our files that go back to 1974 were all showing as Unix files that we can't open! Yikes! All we get his gibberish now. We've paid AppleCore $2000. and our server isn't any faster because of the ram Situation. Nick offered to install the RAM but when I ask about bringing our server in I don't get calls back and have no offer of help with getting our old files back. $2000. and we are feeling vandalized. I'd go someplace else!...no I would run the other way! read more

My wife's 2014 gen 2 iPad mini suddenly turned off while charging and would not reboot. We took it to the Sarasota Apple store. They plugged it into their MacBook to diagnose the problem and we were told it was unrepairable. Needless to say, I was in the doghouse with my wife because I failed to back up the iPad. There were irreplaceable pictures on the iPad, so my wife said we needed a second opinion. We took it to Apple Core Computer Repair to see what they could do. They said there was a good chance it could be repaired. With fingers crossed we left the iPad for them to diagnose the issue. We were notified that it needed a new battery, so we left it for a battery replacement. They ordered a new battery, and a couple of days later during the battery installation, they determined the logic board chip that regulates the battery charging needed repair. The whole diagnosis and repair took a little over a week, and now my wife has her iPad mini working again with all the pictures intact and a new battery to boot...and I am out of the dog house! Mylissa and Nick are so warm and friendly and kept us informed throughout the process. They're awesome!! We highly recommend Apple Core Computer Repair. read more

The battery in my laptop died. There were no appointments available for a week at the Apple Store, and the Apple approved repair center was likewise unavailable, so I gave Apple Core a try. They replaced the battery, and advised me to continue charging the battery. Got home, plugged it in, and this battery was as dead as the first. Brought it back, a replacement battery was going to take several days to come in, but they promised to call when it was ready. Didn't get a call, so I called them- was told it was ready, but the building was being reproofed, and wouldn't be able to get in the store. To their credit, they called later that afternoon that the roofing was being done elsewhere, so i could retrieve my computer. They handed it to me, I put it in the carrying bag and took it home. Took it out- and the back fell off. They had neglected to replace the screws that hold the back on. Since there is often a wait while they help customers with software questions, I called and requested a no-wait replacement of the screws. The did, and apologized, and said they would give me a call about the oversight. Did indeed get a call the next day, another apology, and was told they would be sending em a $20 gift certificate for the inconvenience. That was two weeks ago- never did get the promised gift certificate. The people are pleasant, but what is really important with computer repair are diligence, attention to detail, and followthrough. Today my Apple I-Pad was showing the I-tunes icon with a charger cord picture. I was in a panic. I really didn't realize how addicted I was to this electronic device . I called the Apple Core and they assured me they could fix this problem . Melissa explained the procedure and said I might lose all data , pics etc if it would not update. Took the chance and voila my I -Pad was restored . We tried problem solving ourselves on our computer but it didn't work . She was wonderful , knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to ! I could not imagine having a worse experience. I cannot say enough bad things about this company. I had a cracked screen. I brought it in to get fixed. I paid an astronomical $170 and then I had to come back multiple times because every time that they "fixed it" they broke something else. The customer service was so bad that they accused me of breaking the phone on purpose. The girl in the store even yelled at me. Just today I finally got a hold of the owner and he agreed to fix the siri microphone that they broke. When I picked up the phone the siri microphone didn't work and now the phone microphone doesn't work either. Now I can no longer make phone calls without having to yell for people to hear me. All of this happened over the course of 4 weeks. Without exaggeration, I made 12 trips to the store. . I ended up having to buy a new phone. read more

I have a mixed review for this business. Nick provided good service for an old iMac and kept it from dying for a while. Then I bought a new computer from him. It had serious issues with the new software that had to be resolved by going back to a previous OS. I can't believe that he charged me to resolve this. He said it took him a long time and he needed to be compensated. He further stated that he could not honor the warranty for a two week old computer because although he is an Apple reseller, he is not reimbursed by Apple for doing warranty work. This seemed pretty bogus to me. In retrospect I should have contacted Apple about this...If he couldn't do the work for free, he should have sent me to the Apple Store. When it came back to me I had lost data, including important photos in IPhoto. Also, I have tried to contact Nick to resolve additional issues recently and he has not returned my calls. read more

We took our two working computers to Apple Core after reading the glowing review in the Sarasota Herald and the reviews here. We could not be more disappointed and devastated at the outcome. The goal was to merge two computers into one. This was to be done in a few hours. Two weeks later we got our computers back and they were a mess. The issue was blamed on a new software upgrade, which we agree may have been a cause, but , not to the extent of the problems we were facing. I believe the company put a lot of time into trying to fix the issue, but it has rendered our computer useless. Partitioning the two systems is not commonly done according to Apple. During the migration process Apple Core encrypted one hard drive which has caused problems. We have since struggled to get the MacBook Pro operating properly. We also have incurred substantial additional expenses in doing so not to mention the stress of not having a computer and losing data. I cannot recommend Apple Core after having all of this trouble. read more
