Left computer for repair in Sarasota. After a few days, company said had to send to Orlando, for two weeks. Got message repair cost $199. Said ok. Heard nothing, in spite of promise to send message when ready. Contacted store after two weeks, and found that it had been sitting there for a week and was "unrepairable." Had bought their insurance coverage, with promise I could easily cancel monthly payments. Try that! Nothing online tells how to cancel. Asked salesman for tel. number, since he said he couldn't cancel; could only sell it. Tried number, didn't work. Asked again, and got another number. Worked, and respondent said would confirm cancellation by email with a couple of hours. Never received. The insurer is Asurion, apparently the same people as ubreakifix. Scam? Sign you up and make it as difficult as possible to cancel monthly payments. read more

They took my phone number down wrong, didn't 't try to contact me online when replacement glass arrived, didn't make the repair in a reasonable amount of time, had me spell my name several times and generally appeared to incompetent . Would never recommend them to anyone I cared about. The fee was $160 to replace glass on my Ipad. read more

I went in to get my screen replaced and got charged $150 for a simple screen replacement and then had to wait and entire day even though I dropped my phone off around 2pm and then finally could get it the next day which is completely unreasonable that It take so long for such a simple fix, then the screen they replaced my phone with sticks out beyond the sides of the phone and no longer sits flush. When I first used my phone after the fix it was really slow and dark but tolerable. but all of a sudden the screen got hyper sensitive in my pocket and kept locking completely due to to many password attempts. And now somehow the screen has stopped working all together and im left with no phone. DONT RECOMMEND PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE LIKE I DID! read more

Stay far away! Worst customer service I have ever had. Been paying for insurance for many years. Called to file a claim and spent a total of almost 4 hrs on the phone and 5 hours at store attempting to get iphone fixed to no avail. Now they are saying I have to wait up to 72 hrs of review before they can process claim to get a replacement started. Phone a little over a year old so manuf warranty has expired so insurance needs to be used. I will be canceling and going to another insurance company once this is resolved. They tranferred me to at&t once after an hour and also disconnected once after 40 minutes. A waste of 2 days. Thanks a lot Asurian, you are a disgrace. read more

Back in 2023 I had payed $106.99 to get my Pixel 4XL battery replaced at this location. I thought this was a good purchase until I later noticed that my phone would shut off with just a little shake. There were scratches from them getting into it too. Shortly after the replacement I moved to Oregon and didn't have the chance to bring it back in. I've been living with the problem for a long time unable to afford a replacement. Well, my front facing camera stopped working, and I decided to risk it and have a friend take a look at it. I was shocked to learn the reason for all my issues was a shoddy repair job. My battery had a "bent" sticker on it, there was no adhesive used whatsoever allowing the battery to nock around. The battery connector itself was at an angle so any time the battery shook it would disconnect. And same with the camera! We put our own dollar tree adhesive in, reconnected everything, and it works. A couple bucks, 30 minutes, and it works. Coming to this place was a waste of money and caused half a year's worth of headaches. I really wished I had opened it up sooner and left this review sooner. read more

Be careful don't waste your time and money here. They did a poor job and charged me $100 for not fixing my phone. They damaged it more. He also asked me for the PIN code to access my phone? I thought that was very strange as the goal was for the phone to just turn on, why would he need access to the internal stuff? I asked for no restoration or update JUST for the phone to be turned on. This Tamiami Trail, Sarasota is the best!!! I have needed them only a few times but they have great service technicians. First time, i was at verizon to get a new phone. I bought the new Phone but verizon said they no long move old phone information into new phones. They told me to go to ubreakifix down the street. That day i was so worried about lossing sentimental emails and pictures. Right away the tech helped me save what he could. Today i was in the store because my computer was frozen on a page that demanded i change the date. I could not open anything on my lab top. So i went to ubreskifix in sarasota Tamiami. LOUIE was working with a group of people with phone issues. He easily multitasked to get the phones fixed and then kept on my laptop until he identified and fixed my problem in a few minutes. CAVEAT EMPTOR!! I had an iPhone 11 screen replaced. I called to ask for a price on a new Apple screen. Was quoted $119 over the phone. Later that same day brought the phone in and was quoted $129. Ok, well - not exactly honest but what's $10 bucks in the big picture. I had a $10 off coupon from the cellular phone store, so, no biggy. Got the phone home and -- a day later the screen is super dark, and... we are getting an error message that it's not a compatible Apple part. Store owner admitted that their employees did NOT specify that the screen would not be OEM. He offered to have the screen replaced with another after market screen, but only because it was under warranty, not because they wanted to find a solution for me. He said that if I wanted the Apple screen I would have to pay $200 more. I'll be sure to tell everyone I know - and I know a lot of people - not to trust ubreakifix on 4170 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231. Very disappointed with their customer service. Two stars only because they did the job and my phone works. So, I went to my phone carrier's store the other day, signed in and waited, told the employee there about my phone screen needing repairs, and asked her about my insurance plan. She advised that it might be a $30 co-pay, and that the ubreak store on 41would be the place to get it fixed on insurance. Drive over to the other side of town to the ubreak store, tell the employee there (Rodney) about going to the phone carrier store and the insurance and that they told me to come to him. My bad that I didn't clarify the insurance status, but they should have picked up on that when I mentioned insurance. He either didn't pick up on it or didn't care (or didn't want to go through insurance because they make more money when the customer does self-pay) Whatever the case, when I pick up the phone later, the bill is $200. When I questioned him on that, he gave some BS answer and that because of their policies, they can't go through insurance now. I asked for a manager, who after a few minutes came out with a completely unreasonable and poor customer service attitude. I left after paying the $200, but not after Rodney disregarded me and helped the next customer. Again poor CS skills. Hopefully they'll make changes and put a priority on customer service, but for now, only two stars because they apparently did the work and the phone screen works. 10/10 would not recommend lol. read more

Although it's a 22-mile drive, I relied on shop with good Yelp ratings. Phone does not power-up. Counter clerk was great. Told diagnostic would take 48 hours, and I would be called. Email acknowledging drop-off was quickly received. So, I expected another email at least. No contact was made for 7 days until I phoned them. Told phone just needs new battery. No, it's more than that has I swapped batteries with my other identical LG G4, and I discussed battery at intake. 1) they went ghost, 2) misdiagnosed. Ironically, I would try them again knowing that I need to phone to follow-up, then phone to follow-up, followed by phoning to follow-up. I hate that. It's expected that you do the work without prompting. And get a better tech. read more

Wow, the customer service here SUCKS. They give you a time and day to pick up your product and it's either hours later or even a day later! The employees either are rude to you or they are nice but dont know what the hell they are talking about. I came to this location to fix a cracked phone and the crack is fixed but the phone has multiple problems now. I had received emails on the updates and they asked me to call them.... umm, how do I call if you have my phone!!? I do not recommend this store because whatever you bring in to get fixed will end up being worst than before and the people you speak with will be VERY RUDE. I just don't get it. Got on the phone, explained that I need it a software reflash, Samsung approved already. Then we kind of agree so I'll go there so they take a look at the phone and "see what it needs" blah blah blah... My mistake, huge red flag right there... Then I go to the store and the guy wants me to leave the phone there overnight... No take a look no nothing... Then the guy tells me to come tomorrow and leave the phone there, maybe a couple or three hours.... Are you kidding me? The only reason I went there is because the phone was new and I thought yeah whatever, Samsung is paying... So I went home, pissed, and after I found the latest software version, it literally took me less than 10 minutes to do the reflash and everything is perfect now... Come on, talk about incompetency, dishonesty, or both... Something so simple for them to do, as it was to me... I can totally understand if they are busy and can't do it at my request, but come on, tell me to come at a particular day and time, as I was expecting and mentioning. In and out... I have asked you to share that footage with me but my requests have been ignored. I know that if in fact that video exists, it would prove that my PC was together and in one piece when I brought it in to your store and was taken apart (and destroyed) by a Ubreakifix employee. Had an iPhone screen replacement done back in January when I cracked the original screen. Recently, replacement screen came loose, so I took it back to have the uBreakiFix team to examine. Because it was still under warranty, they replaced the screen again and included the liquid screen protector at no charge. They were fast and Noah and Nick were super professional and helpful. To whom it may concern, I turned in my laptop for a hard drive replacement on Saturday at 1pm. I was told it would take 24-48 hours. 46 hours later I called to see if it was ready. They told me no, but it would be ready later that night. Later that night (6:30pm Monday) I called en route to the store. They told me it would be ready the next day. So I waited and then called the next day. This is when they inform me that they were confused by my request. I asked for a hard drive replacement, but they were instead trying to use the solid state drive I'd brought to be installed as an external hard drive. Apparently, Latrell told the computer specialist the wrong thing despite it clearly saying on my receipt that it was a hard drive replacement. They told me it would be ready later on that night. By this time I was unsurprised to see that it wasn't ready. So today (Wednesday) I called to see if my laptop is available. They told me the computer specialist would call me back. I waited an hour and a half then drove to the store. I spoke to the manager, who made it clear that there was no point in me driving to the store until they call me. This normally would make sense, except that after waiting 150% longer than the initial timeline I'd been lied to repeatedly and every phone call had been fruitless. The manager didn't lose his cool, however he obviously wasn't paying attention to what I was saying when I went in today. I'm frustrated, angry, and scared that this string of incompetence is going to screw up my opportunity at Georgetown. I spent 4 years sucking sand in the Middle East to earn the benefits that allow me to go to grad school, and I'm getting derailed because of a store that clearly doesn't care. P.S. I never do this. I over tip at restraints. I'm kind to service industry workers. I've never sent food back at a restaurant. This is the first time I've ever been driven to write poor reviews for a store. I came here to replace I screen and ended up coming back multiple times due to poor installation. First the install caused my phone's screen to become glitchy and after getting that repaired again the screen continued to malfunction. After that I went to another iPhone repair place and they replaced the screen with no problems. I would not recommend unless you want your screen to be messed up forever. read more
