The seafood here is fresh. The tuna taco we want a medium rare so the outside was grilled and really tasty. The fried banana sided with the taco also innovative The burger we want medium well and the fries are really good. It combines the crispy and soft and just use salt to add its flavor (although sided ketchup) The service is great as well.

Brunch Burger & a Bloody Mary. Sunday perfection!

We completely enjoyed our experience at Front Street Grill. The wife and I and our pooch came for Sunday Brunch on the outdoor deck. Long, relaxing story short... Josh, our waiter, treated us like regulars (we're definitely out-of-towners). Bloody Mary was simple and delicious. My Brunch Burger was absolutely perfectly cooked (med rare) and completely delicious!! And the wife had a solid bacon Benedict, if maybe a little light on the hollandaise (order extra). And a definite high-point...their deck is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze, sunshine, and the beautiful view of the cancel and the boats. We loved the food, the drink, and the spot. Awesome service. And even the dog gave us a wag of approval. Looking for the perfect Sunday morning? Ease on into Front Street Grill. Thank me later.

Came here a few years ago and had the crab cake burger, but unfortunately they no longer have it. The calamari is classic and deserving of getting two. The shrimp burger is nice and light and the fries are crispy and well-salted. The flounder platter is a bit on the bland side, but nonetheless great. The service is absolutely sweet and well-deserving of a nice tip. Cheers!

Absolutely deliciously fresh! We had a great dinner last night, on the water, and with great service to boot. Our entrees were the tuna tacos and the shrimp tacos--both were made perfectly. The jasmine rice and plantains were cooked perfectly. For a great dining experience, this is the spot to be!

We had the best experience! I think, surely we got lucky because we had zero wait and scored a prime view of the water front! We sat outside on a gorgeous Saturday night. Our server Josh was outstanding. I had the pimento cheese burger and just wow. Best burger I've had in a while. I ordered it medium, and it came with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pimento cheese, bacon, and a buttered bun. I think besides a big juicy burger, the house made sharp pimento cheese really made it a star! Paired with truffle Parm fries that were great too. I also sampled the hubby's fried shrimp platter. Let me just say he is a shrimp snob, and he was so impressed and obsessed. Perfectly sized and cooked. Light crispy breading. Not greasy! I loved them too! He tried to convince me to come back the next day before we left for another basket. It also came with a white slaw and French fries. PS: the fried shrimp is only on the lunch menu! We just got lucky. We will certainly be back! Update: came back for a second time, and the food was just as good! Them shrimps y'all Service was okay and good view. We def prefer sitting outdoors if the weather is fitting!

    Shrimp & Grits; So good

Was last in Town 7 years ago, met a lady and she took me here to have the Shrimp & Grits which were spectacular!! I've never tasted another grit that I've liked. Fast forward 7 years and I'm back to see my lady and we retraced all of the places we'd went before and we came back specifically for the Shrimp & Grits and it was still the bomb!! I'd requested some toasted bread to help dip the sauce, and they provided it and it was an excellent addition and really should be added to the dish. The bar out back has a great atmosphere, but it was too busy this time to hang out and enjoy, but I'll be back again to come see the sharks and have some more shrimp and grits!

Warning: mixed bag! In reality, I probably would've rated this 3.5, but I would give it another shot so I'm rounding up. We were able to make a reservation for Friday night, and the hostess was very nice. We were seated upon arrival. We got a table over by the window, which would've been even better during the day! Wicked views. Patio dining here would definitely be on my agenda in the future, but it was too cold on this visit. Our server was very nice, but kind of disappeared for long periods of time, especially toward the end of our visit. We ordered the calamari to start as it appeared to be one of their flagship items, and I realize that even though calamari can be hit or miss, I expect a place at the coast on the water to be some of the best. The breading was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, I loved the Thai chili sauce drizzled over top and the spicy Mayo on the side... but the calamari itself was unfortunately pretty chewy. I was torn between the Rasta pasta and the shrimp & grits for my entree, so I asked the waitress to pick for me and she chose the Rasta pasta. This was a Cajun style pasta with bell peppers, chicken, shrimp and smoked sausage in a Cajun cream sauce. I really loved everything about this dish, except for the shrimp. They were big and succulent, but not cooked to my liking. I think it was a little too done? Everything else was great. We also tried the grouper bites and they were great. Probably go for that as an appetizer instead of the calamari! It seems like the lunch menu is a bit different than the dinner menu. I think a lunch with drinks on the patio is where it's at with Front Street Grill!

One of our favorite stop for food and drinks! I had the taco bowl, and it was so yummy! Look forward to going back!

Michelle was the rudest waitress I've ever come across. Anything we asked her she literally seemed so annoyed, she snatched two menus out of my hand, and was so rude to my brother when he simply asked for a side of sauce. She also would cut me off while speaking and in the middle of me placing my order she started asking someone else for their order while I was still speaking to her. If you're going not going to be nice, don't be a server, I mean it was unbelievable behavior. Also she added a 20% tip to our bill which she definitely did not deserve. The food was okay but she made the experience so ugly for us and it was very overpriced. I payed $18 for a regular burger and it literally included 12 fries.

Passing though and decided to stop for lunch . It was a beautiful location on the water and served seafood , which is what we were looking for. It was a little before noon , got seated promptly, menus and water were poured. There were only several other table with patrons at it. I checked out the menu and decided on the pan seared grouper cake - creole remoulade, lettuce, tomato on a fresh brioche roll, and a side of fries. And we ordered the fried flounder banh mi special with fries. I was sadly told that they did not have the grouper cake it was a crab cake . So I said ok , I'll try that. While we waited for our lunch the restaurant started to fill up. Service was prompt , our sandwiches arrived fairly fast. The crab cake was definitely not worth it . Absolutely no lump crab , just shreds of crab - it had little taste - not seasoned at all not even old bay . It was slightly greasy too . The remoulade was poor at best - no depth of flavor , no spice , very bland. The fries were surprisingly good , nice and crisp . Never thought of sprinkling parsley over the top - a NFG- non functional garnish . The fried flounder was tasty , well cooked and mildly seasoned , same comment for the remoulade on it - bland . It had an asian slaw on it that provided a crunch factor. Glad we went early , when we got the bill , I was surprised that the crab cake was $3.00 more than the grouper cake . Not at all worth it . And not even told when I ordered it . Next time in passing though we will try another restaurant.

Grilled pimento cheese and bacon sandwich with cucumber salad. A perfect blend of savory and the cucumber salad cut the richness.

We were a bit hesitant when we saw the limited lunch menu available on the covered porch as we were there at 2. But I would go back today and order the exact same thing! The Jamaican wings had the best flavor and were crispy. Their ranch and blue cheese was thick and on point and must be homemade. The grilled pimento cheese w bacon was so rich and creamy on delicious nutty bread. For my side I had the cucumber salad which had onions and peppers in a vinaigrette and was perfect to cut the richness of the pimento cheese. It was such a good combination! I did not get a picture of the shrimp tacos my friend had but she said they were delicious too.

Best locale for drinks on the dock. Love sitting outside when the weather is great. Food is average and tasty.

    Fried calamari
    Tim S.

Great views of the water and service was great. Food and drink was lackluster and lacked flavor. We went for brunch and had the fried calamari and grouper cakes eggs benedict. The calamari was chewy and over cooked and appeared to be something that you'd get in the frozen grocery section. The grouper cakes were bland and did not taste fish. I think the combination of eggs, sauce, and English muffin over powered the grouper cakes. The pouched eggs were done well though and the fresh fruit was good. If you're looking for a view this really is a great place. We did enjoy watching the boats go by. Food isn't that great but reasonable prices.

Our server was so so sweet from the moment she introduced herself to the time we left, so 10/10 to her for her service! (Sorry, can't recall her name) Food came out pretty quickly, but to me the flavors were underwhelming. I had the seafood bisque and fried shrimp platter with seasonal veggies and yams. The seafood bisque was soooo delicious but I wasn't impressed because I didn't get one shrimp nor scallop in my cup, though the description said they were in there. The batter on the fried shrimp had too much of a beer/wheat-y taste for me but the shrimp were a nice size and held the batter well. The yams were my fave. One thing I was sad about is that this place doesn't do anything raw. Being so close to water, all I wanted was some yummy raw oysters, but a friend got them "lightly" steamed and said they were acceptable.

The building was once Owen's Grocery store and is now a casual restaurant. They serve sandwiches and salads for lunch, but the dinner menu is closer to fine dining. I highly recommend making reservations if you are going for dinner, as it is a very popular place, even in the off-season. Reservations are not taken for the Sunday brunch, so I made sure to get there early to be first in line. On my recent visits, the restaurant was decorated for the holidays, so that was fun. It is small inside, but in warmer weather, there are outside tables. Alex took care of me at dinner. He was very welcoming, friendly, and could answer all my questions. He was very attentive and made sure my iced tea was always full. I went with the special for the night. I ordered the ribeye special without realizing it was 20 ounces. Thankfully, my appetite was good that night. It came with brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. I did get dessert too, and that was a chocolate peanut butter pie. That took me two days to finish. At brunch, my waitress was friendly and went over all the specials. I had a green apple mocktail, the #18 poached and stacked. I did the mini sweet potato biscuits as well so it was a lot of food. Alex, from dinner, saw me and asked me about my trip, so it was nice to see him again, and I thought it was nice that he remembered my plans. I will be dining here at least once on future trips to Beaufort, NC.

The menu is creative both for food and drinks, and you're definitely going to need a reservation to get seated. While you're there expect top notch service, and food that is really good, but at least in my experience, falling a bit short of the excellence the prices are aiming for. We were all kind of hungry and thirsty when we came in, having spent the day on Shackleford island, and being shut down at every turn by the restaurant we stopped into first hoping to have some appetizers (they were out of everything we asked about). This boded well for Parrott's, we got several apps and cocktails in addition to our mains. Unfortunately, it was really those apps that I felt fell short. Our waiter talked up the lamb meatballs to the point where we were really expecting to be blown away, and ultimately, they were pretty ordinary, and just two of them, making it hard to split amongst 6 people. Same could be said for the pork belly bbq skewers, they were small and didn't thrill any of us. The main courses made up for those shortcomings, a couple of us got the grouper, there was a scallops and grits order, a delicious pesto chicken pasta, and some crab cakes that I ended up being pretty jealous of because they stole the show. These mains were a good size helping, and each robust in their own ways, showcasing creativity and excellence in the kitchen. In the end, for the amount of the bill, you expect everything to be top notch up and down, and it fell short of that to me... but not so drastically so that I wouldn't recommend the place to others, with the caveat to have appetizers somewhere else first.
