We were here around 9:30 on a Saturday and waited about 40 minutes, but that flew by because we were able to go sit in their coffee/mimosa bar area and wait to be paged. The vibes in both spaces are pretty classic beach diner. It's a relaxed but busy atmosphere. Our waiter was super attentive and kind and we didn't feel rushed despite how busy they were. I had the Land and Sea Benedict, which comes on a giant biscuit and has fried green tomatoes, eggs done your way, shrimp, Cajun gravy, and bacon crumbles. I am particular about biscuits and this one was excellent (soft without being doughy, appropriately crumbly without falling apart). The tomatoes were super crispy without being overly greasy. My over-easy eggs were perfect, as were the shrimp, and the gravy was excellent. The grits I had with it really lived up to their reputation of being smooth and creamy, with no need for butter. My mom had the "Kitchen Sink" omelet, and very much enjoyed it. The ingredients were fresh and nothing was over or under done, which can be hard with such a variety of ingredients. The home fries that came with it were terrifically crispy. I also appreciate that they make their own hot sauce, as well as the mix for their Bloody Mary (which my mom also loved) I enjoyed my peach mimosa and got a kick out of all of the different flavor options. I'd love to explore their lunch menu too. I'll definitely frequent again next time I'm out this way!

The bartender was busy working and singing in between taking orders as she prepared drinks for customers. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and offered the specials before we placed our order. We love to sample the menu when we travel and the vast menu of tapas gave us the perfect opportunity to try just about everything. They had a smaller wine selection, but there was something for just about everyone. Our waiter was very attentive and offered suggestions on what to try if we were torn between several menu options. The Spanish lamb meatballs, truffle honey pork belly and rosemary beef were the tapas that stood out as the most flavorful and making us each want just one more bite. The Spanish meatballs were glazed with sriracha which caused me to pause before ordering. However, I'm so happy that we gave them a try. They had a bold flavor, but the whipped feta and cilantro were enough to balance the heat. The truffle honey pork belly was sliced differently. We have only had this cut into cubes at other restaurants in the past. The way that they slice the pork belly is so much better. The pork belly was served with cheese grits. We don't even like cheese grits, but could not get enough of these smoked Gouda grits. The rosemary beef with asparagus and mashed potatoes was perfect. The beef was tender, the asparagus cooked to perfection and who doesn't love mashed potatoes. We visit the crystal coast about twice a year and always try a couple of new places. We look forward to coming back to Circa 81 each time that we visit!

Diversified and well presented. - Crabe cake: pretty good but missing citrus coleslaw so a 7/10 - Brie with pepper jolly: probably the one we appreciate the most of the 3. Could have more toast though. - sesame seed seared tuna : good, 8/10 Overall the idea of trying many dishes is probably the most valuable option here. A little remark about our waiter is that we were not cared for but we were at the bar so that might be the reason.

It came highly suggested by the host of the beach house, as well as all the great reviews we saw online. This not a quick sit, eat, and be on your way type of restaurant, it's a long standing, very popular spot, and even getting their early, we still had a about a 45 minute wait. But we were able to get drinks, and take them out to enjoy by the water while we waited for our table. Because of the heat, they even had a cooler by the front door with free bottled water for guests to enjoy while waiting. Once seated, the waitress was very attentive, checking on us regularly, keeping the drinks coming and getting out order entered, and out to us pretty quickly. Not being a big seafood eater, I decided to give their meatloaf a try. It was fantastic, as were the mash potatoes and green beans it was served with. For desert, we got smores, which they brought out a flames, along with graham crackers, Hershey bars, and marshmallows to make them at your table. Overall, a fun experience, tasty food, and great atmosphere. It's a bit on the pricey side, but I'd say that's expected for a quality restaurant in a beach town. It's not tourist trap pricey, but you get what you pay for, which in this case is good quality food, decent portions! I'd go back on another visit, and would recommend to others.

Place opened at 4:45 and we were there at 4:35 with a full parking lot and a line out the door. Luckily, we had a small party of two and a toddler and our wait was only 20 minutes. The night before we tried to get in, the wait was an hour and a half. Overall the place was great! Place was really Clean, smelled good, and was nice and cool. The outdoor waiting area was nice with a little dock in the water, covered/shaded seating, rocking chairs and even a bag set. Food was mostly on point too! Fried green maters could have been cooked a little longer (still a bit crunchy for my liking), breading on the pork chops didn't stick as well to the meat as it could, mashed potato's were FIRE, and the seafood trio with rice and beans was nice. Beer was super cold, staff were nice, and bathrooms were clean. If I were in the area again I would go again.

This place is the real deal. You definitely pay a lot. However, the food is absolutely worth the price you pay. This is a restaurant that talks the talk and walks the walk. The wedge salads is beyond comprehension how good it is. The bread is transcendent. I got the dry aged steak and my wife got the wagyu. Both were true to definition fine dining. My wife insisted on the truffle fries as a shareable side and by gosh they were the best fries ever had...that being said...wagyu 5oz is $130. You aren't going wrong here. Great meal, great service, worth the time and $$. It is rare to get a good deal and still spend $$$$ these days. This is the spot.
