Was looking through the best cheesesteak places in the area and From Philly seemed the most promising. Not as authentic looking as Boo's in LA but it had a modern twist that seemed to try and improve upon the...sorry for saying this... dirty look of the authentic cheesesteaks. The place itself is a clean and modern little place right next to a liquor store, with a handful of tables inside. I got the traditional cheesesteak and it came out very quickly. To break it down... The bread was wonderful. Thick, flavorful, and fresh. We might not be able to get true Amoroso rolls out here but From Philly makes sure to do the bread right. Unfortunately I can't speak as highly for the rest. The meat was certainly a tad juicier and higher quality than what you'd find at Philly's Best, but not as flavorful which is what really counts. And there was just not enough of it. The bread to meat to cheese ratio here was a big letdown, and if I come here again I would certainly get double meat and cheese as it seems a necessity to do this sandwich right. The cheese had a good flavor, nowhere near and dear to my heart as whiz (which you can get at Philly's Best and not many other places) and you needed more of it than was given. Came by here by accident a couple days ago and decided to finally try it. I can say that it was such a pleasant experience. The Philly cheesesteak I ordered the half size so I can also try the traditional Italian sandwich. I'll start with the Italian called sandwich/hoagie as well. I wish I knew that it was going to be spicy and that they added jalapeños in it I'm not a big spicy fan so that kind of would've changed my view on it. However the star of the show besides the amazing dirty chips, the traditional Philly cheesesteak sandwich was incredible. I would've liked to have maybe some banana peppers or pepper Cheaneys next to it or inside even for a little bit of a sweetness or some kind of flavor twister but it was very good. The philly cheesesteak was pretty good but I dont really have anything to compare it to. However, the pastrami fries were BOMB. The fries are on the thicker side but they stayed crispy even togo! The pastrami has a really good amount of fat on it and the sweetness grilled onions on the top cuts the salt. Amazing!! Never coming back to this place again, so many things wrong and honestly a horrible experience. Save your money, this place isn't that good, theres plenty of other places you can get your sandwiches that offer better customer service and actually follow Covid guidelines (I took pictures and will be sending them to the city). Long story short, I ordered two sandwiches. Got my order. Went back home. Opened my sandwich wrapping and realized I was given someone else's order. So we drive back. No apologies. Kudos to all delivery drivers during these difficult times. Quite simply, they don't offer cheese wiz, and their meat is tremendously underseasoned. What a diamond in the rough.. This place NEVER disappoints. They have 10 inch long subs that are packed with flavor. I've tried the regular Philly cheese steak, the chicken Philly, the hot pastrami, the sausage sub and their hot dogs. ALL ARE AMAZING. I just had the hot pastrami today which solidified my decision to write this review. It was juicy but the edges of the meat we're crispy. It was dripping with amazing juices and topped with fresh produce. I can't tell you how good it was. The sandwiches are big so they are actually perfect to share.
