Five Stats coffee shop in NY's TS/HK area. I came to this place by chance on walk around the area and I knew- right then- we had to had bfast here the next morning. Two lattes, 2 Kouign-amann, and one quich. Omg the Kouign-amann was PERFECT. i love this pastry. It is my absolutely favorite. I get it anywhere I see it avail. Im droolin' just thinking about one right now. A true neighborhood gem, Frisson is superb. Thank you for the attention to detail and hosting us so kindly. Till we meet again! read more

The lattes are a work of art and scones are a wonderful pastry to go with it. We always stop at Frisson when in NYC. The atmosphere and staff are great. So much better than the big box coffee houses. It is worth a little walk. read more

Great cozy coffeeshop. Their coffees are all delicious. Tried the standard drip coffee and lattes and they're all very smooth and no bitterness at all. I came by once to do work as they usually have open seats despite being small. The wifi wasn't working for me but was functional for the person next to me. Only downside is no bathroom read more

I specifically came to HK just to visit this coffee shop! I sat inside and ordered a vanilla latte and almond croissant, both of which were delicious! There is very limited seating, so I wouldn't recommend coming to this cafe to work. However, I noticed a lot of people inside were doing coffee chats, so this is probably just a good spot to catch up with friends. I really recommend this coffee shop! Their coffee seems to be a favorite, and my latte was really well made. I love how they have unique latte art too. read more

Was looking for a local shop while visiting from out of state. Coffee (cortado) was phenomenal, and the location is great. Near times square but far enough away from the chaos. But check this... I sat there for ~30 mins charging my phone, and the cashier incredibly seemed to know every single person walking through. Regulars, casuals... didnt matter. We were recommended this spot by a coffee buff so you know it'll deliver. My americano was beyond smooth without being light in flavour and my sister was happy with her iced latte. Great hole-in-the-wall and community vibe. Spotted a few great interactions with regulars. Great feel-good throwback pop music playing when we were there (Bruno Mars to All-American Rejects). Free wifi but I wouldn't recommend actually working here long term since the smaller space makes it a bit noisier. Great place to just hang out though! read more

The baritas are great here! Only get the ice coffee so can't speak on other things. Maybe folks don't understand one shouldn't review most coffee shops on their baked goods. They're usually sourced from some where in the city...or Jersey. Was not a coffee drinker, but after my trips to Italy, France, and Vietnam I've become an addict ;) I've popped into most coffee shops in NYC. There is something smooth and easy about their ice coffee or is it a cold brew oh well whatever. It keeps me coming back! read more

Was here yesterday to get some work done, and was lucky to find a seat as I walked in! I got a cortado and a matcha, and both of them were incredible. The vibe inside was so warm, with christmas music playing in the background, and the baristas were so great to talk to! Enjoyed my oat milk flat white a lot! The espresso tasted good- just the right amount of "strong" and had a good ratio of oat milk: espresso. Beautiful latte art! It was $4.75 + $0.50 for oat milk. This is about as low as a surcharge goes for non-dairy milk in the city I've seen (although I hope one day there wouldn't be an extra charge!). I've been on the hunt for great flat whites in the city and this one passes the test! Will return when craving some good quality espresso. read more

Great charming spot for coffee and a space to relax or study. The iced americano was tasty and woke me up for the afternoon. There's more seating than you would expect in a small spot. Walked over here on a cold and windy day in New York, and I definitely needed some coffee to warm my body up. The mocha and cauppinoc lattes were amazing and I loved how each drink can have a design depending on your order or your request. The coffee shop is cute here and the workers were extremely nice and fun to talk to. I think my friend had dropped one of the desserts, and the workers were able to make a new one to replace the dropped dessert! I would definitely come here again. read more

My latte enthusiast friend told me this is one of her favorite espresso locations in the area so I figured I stopped by after work to give it a try. The interior is pretty tight and small (only a few small tables and some bar seating) but well decorated. I decided to order a cortado ($4.25 + $0.75 for oat milk) since I wanted a stronger espresso taste. The latte art was beautiful (but if you want a swan or one of the other really pretty ones, you'll need to get a latte haha). Overall, the cortado was enjoyable. The espresso (medium roast with chocolate and fruity notes) taste wasn't very strong but it complemented the oat milk quite nicely. Maybe I'll get a macchiato next time for a stronger espresso! read more

Finally found a local coffee shop. 4 minute walk from our hotel. Such a delightful location. Great service with special attention to our daughter. Local art and excellent music vibe. This is a cute coffee shop. The flat white was super smooth. You could tell that the quality of the espresso was really good. Also loved the cup it came in. I also tried a raspberry scone. Normally scones are dry but this one was flaky and delicious. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Out of the coffee shops k went to while I was in NY, this was my favorite one. I ordered a vanilla latte and it was outstanding! The espresso tasted good, not bitter or burn at all. Along with the foam it was nice and smooth. Meaning no air bubbles at all. The staff were very nice. They treat you as if you're a regular there with small talk but in a genuine way. It's a bit out of the way from Times Square but I recommend getting caffeinated here before you go about your day or explore the city. read more

Holy Espresso... WHAT A LATTE!!! and it had a seahorse drawn on it. Too fun! Awesome vibe. Staff cares have awesome attitudes, and there's a loyalty card for returning customers. 5 2-top tables + a 5 chair bar. Great wifi! All the flavors were so yummy! The outside of the pastry was crunchy and delicious. The inside was soft, creamy and melted in your mouth. There are coffee and tea items to order and other merch. Inside of the cafe was quaint and quite busy. There are tables and chairs with fun decor. The Llama is very cute. I will return to try other pastries.

Theres a shared bar table along one wall with high top chairs and menu options at the counter + a chalkboard with seasonal drinks. I left with a Balthazar Bakery box with 4 items. The 2 Everything pastries were filled with what looked like spinach and cheese. Incredible when reheated, but I wish they were served warm. The cinnamon roll was good, but not standout. The pain au chocolat was tender and flaky. Some of the seasonal drinks, like the Grinch, looked really good and I'd come back to try one, but I likely wouldn't swing for a pastry this time.

The Iced Biscoff Cookie Latte caught my eye as it was part coffee, part dessert. I really wanted to like it. It was definitely rich, nutty, and sweet but not creamy and smooth like a typical latte. It also had a chalky aftertaste which I couldn't look past. For ~$9, I expected much more. Overall, the flavor profile is promising but the execution was off.

For over 10 years I've been an avid coffee drinker. I've been to Café Grumpy, B.Bottle, Stumptown, Irv. Farm, you name it, I've been there! However, I've never felt more inclined to give a coffee shop a yelp review that is until I started coming to Frisson. The staff here cares as much about the service as they do the espresso. One of the baristas brought my cappuccino and warm apple cardamom over to my window seat as I waited for a friend! Also, I love that they are so transparent as far as their pastry sources. It's great to know what you're paying for. I'm no stranger to Bien Cuit Bakery (they are delicious). I also love the mini pecan pies that Frisson serves from Las Delicias Bakery (well known for their gluten free options). Although my 9-5 is super exciting (ha), coming here is truly a highlight of my work week. I cannot ask for better quality, overall. I am working on my second loyalty card!!! read more

This is by far the best coffee shop in this neighborhood. I have tried their second location located at 3rd ave and my experience was amazing and therefore I was around hells kitchen neighborhood and decided to stop by at 47th st and again, I was delighted. This latte was superb and I just cant wait to go back. Thanks to the great baristas at Frisson Espresso I was able to enjoy a delicious latte with a special design for valentines day. This place is fairly close to Times Square but didn't scream as a tourist trap so we picked this for our morning coffee. The baristas are efficient and get your order to you quickly but I was fairly disappointed by my vanilla latte overall. The taste of any vanilla syrup was lacking and the latte had very little consistency. The service was good and the space is nice but with the amount of good coffee in NYC, I probably won't be returning. read more

I came here to check out the latte art because my friends always come here and tell me about it, I usually stick to Starbucks Frappuccinos but decided to come and see what the hype was about , after coming here and ordering a almond vanilla latte I was mind blown to see that the barista do his magic with steamed almond milk into the cup , I surely recommend this place if you want a phenomenal latte with beautiful latte art on it read more

Came to Frisson Espresso for a coffee with a friend and it was delicious. The space was pretty small but there were plenty of seats. I had a latte which came with some beautiful art and my friend had a black tea. The only downside was that the music was a little loud and not something I wanted to listen to while drinking some coffee and chatting. Other than that. It was fun. read more

This is a great little coffee shop. It's small and cozy inside, with seating for about 10 to 15 people. The staff was friendly, which made the visit even better. My oat latte was strong and flavorful, and the chai latte was nicely spiced and delicious. The only thing I'd change next time is asking for my drink to be extra hot. Frisson's is awesome. I am always looking for different coffee joints in the city and came across Frisson's on my way to work. So glad I peeked inside and had a quick cup of coffee. We dropped by at Frisson to have a late afternoon coffee before going back to airport and we found the place very amazing! I would say pretty small place for a big market but it look cool and relaxing with a large crowd. I ordered a machiatto and I paired it with blue almond MUFFIN and I was so pleased and happy!! We feel in love with this place whilst we spent a week in New York. We visited most mornings the staff made us feel so welcome and by our second visit they knew our order. For coffee lovers this is a place everyone must visit! All variables of espresso are available and while I really enjoyed me double espresso, I would recommend you to try the cappuccino too! It was just amazing. It is not a study/work place to hang out but the people working there, they are really helpful and friendly. read more

What a charming little coffee shop. Latte is so rich, satisfyingly tasty. The decor is minimalist but offers an excellent view of the street. Sitting by the window with a book and a latte is nearly paradise, for Bach was missing, instead some atrocious Britany Spear was blabbering incoherently through the speakers. read more

I have been to New York many times and never seem to have found the place to enjoy the perfect cup of coffee. Well, I am glad to have had the Frisson Espresso experience! The latte was perfect. The canelle was perfect. The ambiance was perfect. I will be back many more times this trip and on my next trips! read more
