Holy fart what a great pourover. Was full of mid 20-somethings that were working or meeting, and the baristas seemed to know everyone who had come in. Had to try the coffee before getting a shirt (can't rep the wrong people or I'd lose my coffee swag back in Michigan). Nothing but great things to say. Go. Lovely little coffee shop just a few blocks from Times Square but could not be further in style and temperament from the otherworldly chaos of that space. This coffee shop is the perfect antidote to anything over-stimulating and fast-paced. It is tiny and no frills and feels like everything NYC is not. My girlfriend and I came here shortly after it opened on a Thursday morning in April. I got a chai latte and she got a flat white, and both were good. We sat for a while enjoying the calm. There were tons of regulars coming in, many with dogs, some sitting for a bit and some heading right back out, but almost everyone knew everyone else. Gotta start out by saying the staff is always awesome. A little oasis in the insanity of midtown. It can get busy so can be hard to snag a table but when it's quiet it's a perfect place to take a breath and read for a bit with a drink. Their cold brews/iced coffee usually has distinct, out of the box flavors which sometimes I can taste and sometimes...not. I bookmarked this place a long time ago because I found it on some list which detailed NYC's best coffee - not sure where I found that list but am I grateful that I took the time to stop by here when I was in the neighborhood finally. The coffee here was excellent, and the oat cappuccino I ordered had perfectly steamed milk that blended well with the espresso as one beautifully married texture with nice even microfoam. It's a small space and you'll blink and miss it since you have to go down some steps but even my friends who I came with who have great taste (read: picky) enjoyed their coffee. I have to agree as a developing coffee snob myself (of sorts). Wanting to come back here and have them again, hopefully soon! In the meantime, keep up the great work St Kilda! read more

My Cortado was delicious and the presentation was great. What I loved about this coffee shop. Is they use an almond milk called NUMILK. They allowed me to read the ingredients in the package and it was literally almonds, water, and a small amount of sugar. The cleanest ingredients of any premade type almond milk I've seen. It comes condensed (concentrate) in very small packages and they add water so it's environmentally friendly packaging. I will definitely come back here. The environment was friendly and kind. It wasn't too noisy. Only downside is this is kind of like a basement coffee shop so they do have a big front window, but you're still a little bit below ground. read more

I hadn't been to St. Kilda's in a while and I was nearby and stopped in for breakfast. I ordered coffee, [which arrived in a real coffee cup] and a chocolate croissant. Both were delicious. The service was prompt and the space has a nice little vibe. Their selection of baked goods is somewhat limited [although it may have been the time of day that I was there-the rush was already over] It is located at the basement level so you may not actually see it from the street. It is a small space with assorted tables and seating along the windows. They also have another location, which is fairly new, on W. 46th St. on the corner of 9th Avenue [formerly the home of Yuri's] There is no seating in the new location-it is more of a grab and go. St.Kilda's is worth a stop if you are in the area. read more

March 2023: Love this specialty coffeeshop. I was intrigued by their logo and name. They definitely care about their aesthetics. The location itself is somewhat hidden as it's located down a flight of stairs. The shop is quite small and a bit loud. Only one barista was working that day, however he was hard at work, fulfilling orders promptly as a line of tourists followed through. Their coffee beans are super smooth: I ordered my usual Americano black and it was not bitter at all. Highly recommend to those who enjoy a nice cup of coffee and people watching. I ordered a chili flavored pastry as well- although it was dry, it did have a nice flavor. Several seats/tables inside. I find this one better than the downtown location. There's also window seating and outdoor benches. Wifi is available which is good for working along with some outlets. Unfortunately no bathroom! Accepts cash, card and Applepay. No bathroom. This ended up a big bright spot in the nighttime. Well, er, morning, oh, you know! In all the visits to NYC over the years, I've never truly mastered the lines that separate. One woman told us we were standing in Times Square, her husband argued it was the theater district and my nephew called it Hell's Kitchen. This is on 44th street between 8th and 9th. lol I like that you walk down a flight to get here. It's a pretty hip place and a bit different than the Seattle based chain. Space is limited but there's a bench out front if you don't mind the cold. Brrrrrrrr! All I can say is what a unique shoppe. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I enjoyed the music. My daughter says it's Indy music. It was nice. They will gladly bag up any of their blends for you to brew at home. Some are everyday staples, some are strange sounding concoctions and they have come up with some crazy concoctions. Try the cookies. They're great too! The best part was the barista and her buddy. Super friendly and funny. No attitude, no pressure. She said she was here all day so, really, I can take my time. My daughter isn't so patient and ordered me up a Flat White with Oat Milk. Small cafe tucked away downstairs that's very easy to miss. I consider these guys the best "serious coffee" in the neighborhood. If you're looking for good coffee (vs. say, coffee favored cup of seasonal sugar syrup), this is your happy place. I really liked the filtered coffee made with Sey beans - which I had never tried before. I broke my no caffeine in the PM rule for it and I have no regrets. Might pick up some beans here next time. P.S. coffee here is comparable or *cheaper* than other similar quality places in NYC. Really vibey spot! Plenty of seating, with some outside as well, so definitely a good place to sit down and enjoy your coffee. I went on a weekday morning, and it was pretty empty, so service was also really fast. I got a cortado, and I just don't think the roast was really up my alley. Strong on the fruity side, but certainly a well made drink. Good ratio of milk, good coffee notes, and overall pretty enjoyable, but just a bit too fruity/sour for me. This coffee shop was small, but is worth checking out. I ordered the Americano, almond croissant, and cranberry scone. The cranberry was good, but i was in love with their almond croissant. It was flaky and the almond paste inside was sweet (not too sweet) and the almond topped Gabe the croissant an extra crunch. The coffee was smooth and delicious too. There's nothing like hip NYC coffee, and St. Kilda fits the bill. This spot was in walking distance from the Westin, so I stopped by for some caffeine and fell in love with this unique little spot. It's also perfect that it's away from most of the hustle & bustle of Times Square, which is a refreshing change of scenery if you're staying nearby in a hotel. A walk-down storefront with just enough space to move around or sit and sip in a quiet corner. There seemed to be little foot traffic on a weekend morning while we waited for our coffee, so we were in and out fairly quickly. Grabbed an Americana and cappucino, both were delicious and perfectly pulled. I was so obsessed with their design and merch, so I grabbed one of their bags and shirts.
