I just stopped at Friendly's for dinner. Haven't been there in a long time and it was so good. I got a corn and onion quesadilla with buffalo sauce. I couldn't even finish it. Workers there are so incompetent. Don't do a pick up order for food ever. Pick up orders for ice cream is fine but not food. If you do it they will barely give you anything. I just ordered and when I eat in there it's always a full plate of mini mozzarella sticks but I just got an order of them to pick up and there was a total of 8 in there??? read more

One of my favorite places to go for comfort food and ice cream has been Friendly's. There are two a little drive away in Glen Burnie that I have given good reviews for. This Friendly's hasn't been good for some time but today there was no one waiting for carryout. I didn't get a hello, we will be right with you. I was able to take a picture of the waitress leaning on the counter talking to a friend. (Friendly's only friendly to people they know?) After she was done talking to her friend she walked to where they make the ice cream and had a conversation with another worker about something they found in the food. At that point I was done. We visited Friendly's to celebrate our daughters 8th birthday recently while on vacation. The restaurant had two other seated tables not including ours at the time. I informed one of the staff members up front about the bday and pointed out where my daughter was seated so that they could sing to her when it was time for ice cream. The kids food arrived first, my husband and I ordered the same thing, a very simple order and our sandwiches never arrived after 10-15 min of waiting as the kids ate their meals. Then a server came out, looking lost and gave our order to another table that came in after us. Then when it was time for the staff to sing happy birthday they brought our desserts and sang to another table that wasn't ours either! We are not normally ones to complain, but our meals and desserts were given to two separate tables, crazy! We paid for just the kids meals and left , no desserts or happy birthday celebration. Very disappointed. And it smelled like mildew inside. Don't go here! read more

My family loves the Friendly's chain. We're always satisfied with the service & the quality of food. On occasion I use a SaveAround coupon from a book I purchased at my kid's school,l. I've never had a problem. Today I tried to use a coupon from the SaveAround app (similar coupons for the same businesses in the book), & was told couldn't use it because it was a third party coupon. I'm a little bummed about that It'd be nice if the restaurants could outline their coupon use policy. read more

Went to the carryout for ice cream and this place needs some adult supervision. A bunch of teenagers goofing off and not taking care of business. Believe me I am not an old stogey, but someone needed to be there flto keep these kids focused. One of them was throwing things that looked like wads of paper at staff that was preparing food. I guess you could say I'm pretty bias, I've come to this place as a kid a lot since it's like really close to where I live. This place is like my childhood; however the quality of food has kind of gone down. Honestly I've never had such a terrible experience. like ok the food here is fine and my waitress was super nice but holy- i had to wait like 50-1 hour for my pasta. she said the reason it took so long was it was " busy." there was like 4 families, and they all sat after us. about 3 of them all got their food 20-30 minutes before ours came out. my friend had ordered a steak, and it was crispy burnt. Cutting with their butter knives was impossible and they had no steak knives for their steak or oddly large burgers. the only thing that's saving this rating from a one star is our waitress. she said it was her 2nd day working here and i understand things get hectic but the wait time was way too long. i suggest they hire more kitchen staff instead of waitress' who stand around and gossip. read more

This review is for delivery experience through DoorDash. My husband and I ordered the munchie mania sampler with chicken quesadillas, buffalo strips and onion rings. Their quesadillas have always been a staple for me since childhood. Everything tasted good - no complaints. For meals my husband had the honey bbq chicken sandwich and I had the Reuben. His was tasty and I really enjoyed the Reuben - perfect ratio of sauerkraut and thousand island dressing. We've also done just ice cream through DoorDash and, what can I say? Friendly's will always have some of the best sundaes. Their marshmallow and peanut butter toppings are to die for. I'd highly recommend the Resees peanut butter cup or, if you're in the mood to share, the Jim Dandy. I'll be sure to grab pictures the next time - I'm curious to dine in to see if their customer service has improved since previous reviews have stated it hasn't been the best. We haven't had a problem with this place but today as we were waiting for our ice cream we watched a man walk up and wait to be served and after 5 minutes of employees coming to the counter to do other things and NO ONE helping him he walked out. To start off with, horrible service, we had to send our food back twice for 3/4 dishes we had ordered, we waited 20 min between each time so in total we were there for about an hour and a half just getting a "quick" bite to eat. We ordered 2 BBQ chicken melt sandwiches off of the 2 for 20 menu, Turkey tips, and a burger. Our food had came out at separate times (I also have and still do work at a restaurant and go to school for culinary, so I know that this is not normal or professional) the chicken melt sandwiches were supposed to be with light BBQ sauce, when they came out, they were drenched in the sauce, so we sent them back when they came out the second time they still had a lot of sauce on them, but is was better than what they had served us before. The turkey tips when they had came out also had rice and broccoli, I know that Friendlys isn't a fancy restaurant but they can at least serve hot food, the broccoli's center was still frozen and the turkey tips were cold; same with the rice, in the end I had to send it back. It came out the second time okay better than it was (when the manager brought it out he told us that he cooked it specifically which makes me wonder about their food handling and sanitation). And finally the burger when it came out came out medium rare, which in a diner setting is not normal at the least they send it out medium well, but my friend was willing to eat it since that's how he likes his meat anyways. In the end I ended up talking to the managers, yes I said managers, they were so unwilling to take off the food that was messed up that we got into an argument in the front of the restaurant (other employees were making comments also) causing a scene in front of the customers and employees, by the way when we did get our food we ended up eating a very small portion of it because at that point we had lost our appetite. (The manager who was arguing with us was on the bigger side wearing a white shirt with black/blonde hair) in the end she took a measly 10% off of our check, thanks! I would also like to add that I have my servsafe certificate and that I am qualified in the state of Maryland for food safety and sanitation so when I say that they were using, not just an electric vacuum, but a shop-vac in the kitchen while there were customers in the restaurant and food still cooking is not just unsafe and unsanitary but ILLEGAL in the state of Maryland! So after being sat at a dirty table, getting horrible service, having a second waitress greet us at our table because they have such a lack of communication that they can't even say "hey that table is mine" to their fellow coworkers so that annoying and unprofessional acts towards customers doesn't happen, being served horrible food that isn't even up to a standard, and getting in an argument with the managers and staff. Crazy packed for a Tuesday evening. I waited for a good 20 minutes and if I didn't dread loading my small kids back into the truck, I probably would've left. My 2 year yelled "I'm hungry people" and while mortifying, I think we would've sat for another 20 minutes waiting to be served otherwise. I was bummed to learn that they don't offer breakfast during any time, which was my sole purpose of going. They didn't have a few of their ice cream selections available which was another disappointment. On the upside, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious their bacon cheeseburger was! It was just okay. This was our first experience at a Friendly's. I can't say I'll be eager to go back. We were seated promptly. The waitress immediately took our drink orders and returned quickly. The menu has no note of any of the ongoing promotions, nor did the waitress mention any. I saw another waitress eagerly tell her table about a meal deal, but this was after I placed my order. My order was not correct, but my waitress didn't appear until after several (10+) minutes. It was similar enough that i decided to keep the sandwich. Note, the waitress did offer to take it back and have them correct my order, but I didn't want to take my chances. We didn't see our waitress again until long after we were finished. Thank goodness we didn't need drink refills. A few minutes later, she brought the check and we were able to get out of there. For a party of 2, it took us a little over an hour and a half. I've seen this restaurant advertised and always wanted to see what this chain is about. Sadly, I was disappointed. I may give them another shot because the prices are relatively inexpensive. Maybe I won't have such bad luck next time. read more

I usually have good experiences here but im very disappointed in our last visit. Ordered a peanut butter cup sundae with chocolate ice cream. Got no fudge, peanut butter, or peanut butter cup. (It comes with all this). Right after we ordered a young guy said "think i can make these in under a minute?" to a friend he was goofing off with. Just went there today and I just can't let go what happened. Coupons came in the mail and I went to use it. Me and someone I brought had the fiver specials which was real good, actually the second one this week. My first experience was good. The problem was when I left. I was getting into my car the waitress came running out the door waving the check and yelling I did not leave enough money. I was caught off guard and went to see what she was talking about because I had left a 25% tip (not a big spender but the check was $16 so who cared). She then keep saying I owed her $3. I wanted her to stop repeating that and at that point I thought I would probably would go back just make sure I was not in her section, so I gave her three more dollars and walked out again. She then comes out again stops me, and try's to hand me the coupon. At this point I'm mad because she brought us a desert menu during our meal and said we had to order a little more to use the coupon so we did. In all I was embarrassed and going back and fourth through the parking lot with melting ice cream that I only bought to make the coupon total. I said I didn't need it and she said if theirs a problem I can get the manager. That rubbed me wrong and I said yes I would like to. I followed her back in and 2 managers came up to the counter. I said about the coupon and says a little louder then necessary "they are are ready almost 1/2 price" and ":she should not have used the coupon sorry" To bad because I liked the burger but I can't accept this in my own neighborhood. read more
