REAL ice cream is appropriate. I love good ice cream. Always have. This stuff is thick, rich, and super dee duper DENSE. I couldn't even finish the entire cone. It has to easily be a pint+ of ice cream + a good sized extra large waffle cone. This stuff is hard-hitting. Not for the faint of heart and definitely not no Baskin-Robbins or Dairy Queen. Not cheap either @$5 a cone. Lately I've been buying Blue Bell pints from Walmart since scoops of ice cream from most places I find kind of uninspiring these days. Even if I was interested in fast food soft serve like from McDonald's, for example, everyone knows their ice cream machine is always broken, lol. I sometimes go to a small family farm in Southern Maryland that does it fresh and that makes me happy. They're very seasonal though and have limited variety. I had banana from Bruster's and loved it. The ice cream isn't super syrupy sweet (at least mine wasn't) which made for a perfect complement to the waffle cone - which was very sweet. Certainly less sweet week than the Banana Pudding ice cream I get from Blue Bell. Still decadent though. Love this Bruster's location. It is closer to home and less busy than the one up in Glen Burnie. The staff is always friendly and quick. I have made several special orders in the past and the process was always super simple. A quick phone call to put the order in and tell them when you want it and then it was always ready when needed. The banana ice cream is my absolute favorite and I have bought it by the gallons in the past to keep at home. Brusters is dog friendly (even though they are only a walk up store) and even offers a complimentary puppy sundae when you bring your dog along. Let me preface this by saying it's not the ice cream. I love Bruster's ice cream... Friday evening, I made an online order on my way home for myself and my 1 year old grandson. I was about 1/2 mile away when I received the call that my order was ready. After parking at the front of the store, I walked up to the window that stated online order pickup and there I stood. There are Other options for sweeteners like stevia that don't have that flavor profile. Regular items on the menu are awesome. If it's hot out expect a long line. In my mind Brusters was a cute old-fashioned ice cream parlor where I could sit down and enjoy some summertime ice cream in the air-conditioning. I'm not sure where that imagery came from as Bruster's is just a window that you walk up to to place your order and receive your ice cream. The only places to sit are on the curb or at some wobbly picnic tables in the grass surrounded by bees. This is a different kind of Brusters. They have a walk up window and the only seating is outside with a few tables and chairs. We were simple, we got a sugar cone and waffle cone. Offered a refund - yeah thanks - you didn't have a cake we paid for. As a result we were still without a cake at 3:30 on a Sunday leaving few options except a super market cake. Very disappointed. They acknowledge the error but did not offer even a pint or cone as consolidation for their error. Note this was the second time they have done this on a cake.
