Walked in for takeout ice cream at 10 pm (close at 11) Stood here for 7 minutes. One table in restaurant with two people. Server looked over at us four times, said nothing. Looked in kitchen and kid was taking pictures of stuff on his phone which I thought was strange. I walked into dining area and asked the server (who was very ignorant) if they were still open and he said yeah, we are coming. I felt like saying "a we will be right with you would suffice". He then went to get someone and he continued to keep looking at us rudely. Manager came out and was very nice and helpful. The server however, can ruin your brand. Should not be in guest service. I am at a loss of words right now. I am still struggling to process the horrific pain that I am in and I hope that I recover soon. Friendly's is supposed to be a warm and welcoming environment for all humans. However, it's been a sign that I have no choice but to leave such a terrible review to express my undeniable dismay. The mac and cheese that is supposedly homemade is EXACTLY like the boxed Kraft Mac and Cheese I can find at the local supermarket and this one would not give me such horrid stomach cramps!!! I am sitting in traffic with uncontrollable diarrhea and want an explanation as to why this would happen with a homemade item. I feel personally attacked on all levels. My therapist will be hearing nothing but negativity this week because of your inedible food that you insist to keep on the menu. Friendly's? I don't think so. I took my dinosaur of a wife to this establishment last night for our 600 month anniversary and let me tell you something. It was just not good. Our waitress (I don't know her name because she never told us) was so rude. She bashed the restaurant as well as what we ordered to eat. She even told us that we were "taking too long" to make our decision on what to order! What a turd! We sat down around 4:00 and left around 8:00...it isn't my fault that my wife cuts up her chicken fingers! Overall, 4 out of 10, only because the mini mozz sticks are always hotter and more beautiful than my wife has ever been. Friendly's is a decent stop for brunch/breakfast. My boyfriend's aunt took us here for breakfast and the service was fast and the food was good. It wasn't out of this world food but, it has everything you need for a breakfast joint. This location is really cool because the restaurant also has an ice cream shop inside! Tonight is the first time we did a phone order and pick up first few times I called no one answered so I was gonna give up but I had a coupon and they sent a flyer about and bacon cheeseburgers with fries were one of the deals for $4.99! Who can resist a good bacon cheeseburger? Not I ! Anyway, I called one last time and they answered. The girl was very nice on the phone as I had questions regarding if I can use a coupon on the specials. She was very informative. She told me to pick up in fifteen minutes and minus the horrible deptford traffic, our food was ready when we got there. Very nice staff at the take out part. I haven't been to a Friendly's since my son was a youngster but we were in the Deptford Mall area and in need of breakfast. I must say this was a pleasant suprise. The restaurant was very busy but we were greeted promptly and were seated within minutes. Our waiter was very professional and extremely pleasant. I was suprised how efficiently and accurately the kitchen turned out food because there wasn't an empty sear in the house. My eggs came out cooked perfectly as did my dining companion's. Bacon was cooked just right and pancakes were light and fluffy. The only disappointment was the coffee, it had a very burnt taste. Our waiter gladly removed it from the check and offered replacement beverages. Breakfast was not only tasty but a bargain, Friendly's dia ounts all breakfast 50% everyday. read more

Ordered a Reese's PB Cup Sundae with chocolate ice cream and extra PB sauce last night. Sounds simple right? Awesome, then please apply at Friendlys because the girl taking the order needed me to repeat it 4x! Also as excited as I was to get it, I only asked if there was a spoon in the bag so I could eat it on the way home instead of again confirming all the ingredients which I was afraid I'd come off rude but clearly these kids that were working last night don't have any authority teaching them to follow simple directions that translate in the work place. My extra PB sauce request was translated into less chocolate sauce, the sundae literally had a tiny bit on the top and less than the normal Pb sauce on the side of the bowl and plain chocolate ice cream which I could have just gotten a gallon for $3 instead of the 8 I wasted thinking this place could comprehend such an order. Oh and 1 thing they left completely out of the Reese's PB CUP sundae? The damn PB CUP!!! How do you at least forget that? It's literally in the name and the reason it's called that?? If anyone walked in there last night and saw the 3 high schoolers making ice cream and thought "geez, how many people does it take to make a sundae?" Hostess failed to give us the coloring paper and crayons, I went and got them myself after giving our waitress a chance to fix the problem, which she failed to do so, that's fine. 90% of the employees were sitting around BS'ing. Training and listening need to be a priority. I wasted a trip last night. It should have been a nice trip for ice cream with my wife, but ended up being a waste of time. The staff is a bunch of high school age people, which isn't necessarily a bad if proper training is provided. This should include LISTENING TO THE CUSTOMER!!!!! Read that again Friendly's: LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER!!! I ordered a single scoop with extra hot fudge, no whipped cream or cherry. He asked what flavor I wanted. I told him again. He asked what size I wanted. I told him again. He asked if I wanted Whipped cream and cherry. I told him again. Then he asked if I wanted any toppings. I told him again. Then I told him I wanted a separate order and tiold him what I wanted, to which he replied, "do you want that on top of the chocolate?" Listen people! I am very clear when I place an order. When the order was complete, I looked int eh bag and there was whipped cream and cherry on both order. No problem. Then I asked if this was my order and repeated what I ordered. The young man who made the order said yes so I mistakenly took his word for it. We got home and it looked like cookies and cream and not chocolate, no hot fudge. I don't like cookies and cream. Packed everything back up and went back to the store and got a refund. An hour wasted that I could have spent with my wife doing something besides running around, like taking a walk. Friendly's has always been a favorite for me. The menu has changed a bit since I started dining there but its for the good. The staff has a great attitude and they always greet you with a smile. My server was nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. Though the menu is simple, I had asked her about what I could add to my entree without having to pay more. I can't say anything negative about the food or the service on this visit. Friendly's has moved with the times when it comes to making healthier food choices. A great example would be the number of new salads that were added to the menu and the different bread choices for their sandwiches. This is strictly for breakfast. I would say in comparison to all the other Friendly's we have been to in the past year, the deptford branch is by far the best. They have typical breakfast choices (omelettes, eggs, French toast, bacon etc...) and you can't beat the price. Breakfast is half price. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!! Let me just start off by saying our visit was HORRIBLE!!! They seated us at a table that had grease all over the seats. Our waitress seemed as if she was high. She could barely take our drink order which was NOT that difficult. It was 2 chocolate shakes, a vanilla shake, and a water. She kept repeating water, water, and water.... No it was 2 chocolate shakes, one vanilla and 1 water. And she complained about having to "make the shakes herself" and that they sat someone else in her section. Then another waitress had to come take our order because our waitress was "too busy" making our shakes. Our order was a grilled chicken Caesar salad with the dressing on the side, a burger with ranch on the side, and the honey BBQ chicken supermelt with ranch on the side. The grilled chicken Caesar salad that we got charged $8.99 for was a HUGE pile of lettuce with 5 (FIVE) tiny slivers of chicken. It wasn't even like they cut up a decent sized chicken breast and put it on top of this huge pile of lettuce, nope it was like a quarter of a chicken breast (barely) on top of a huge pile of lettuce. They forgot our ranch. My mom had to ask for her water 5 times before our waitress finally brought it out, we had to ask for utensils, because they didn't give us any, and then when our waitress finally came around to check on us we asked for our check. We got our check and it said to pay our server, well I had to bring the check and form of payment to her because she was too busy in the kitchen on her cell phone. And I brought her our check and form of payment while the manager or whatever was right there and even she didn't say anything. We will NEVER return to this location ever again!!!! Will is the Best server ever. He's the man with the plan. His skills are perfectionate, his speech is arithmetically articulate.

I decided to take my 2 year old out for a treat and my 6 month old came with us. I ordered our drinks, food and dessert as soon as our waitress greeted us because I wasn't sure how long the kids would last. Our waitress was pleasant and understanding. Our drinks came out and almost immediately after our food did as well. Like a time bomb both babies seemed to explode at once. I tried to hush and rock the crying baby while trying to feed my oldest his fries and ice cream. I didn't want to ruin anyone's dining experience, so I tried my best to rush while keeping both kids calm. Our waitress Haley came by with the check before I even had to ask for it, she must have read my mind. Still juggling the kids I managed to get the money out of my wallet and put it with the check. She came back and thanked me, and added a few words of encouragement as she could tell that I was about to lose my cool. That really made my night.
