I am writing this with a heavy disappointment. For years They have serviced our vehicles with little to zero issues and if there was an issue it was promptly handled. I took my Lincoln Aviator in for a full repair on everything to get it running in optimal condition. I spent over $5,000 on repairs. One of which was a shifter and knob and button which was $451.97 ticket price upon pick up I noticed the shifter and knob and button were not replaced. I was told the shifter was replaced but they couldn't find the knob or button and "their bad for not telling me" No money was refunded and no offer to make it right .. I also noticed back damage to the vehicle and promptly made them aware they looked and confirmed it was a new clean break and that they had some issues with someone breaking in and stealing a car out of their parking lot and the damage was probably due to that. Aric assured me his insurance would take care of the body damage. I emailed them about the shifter getting stuck and not being able to drive the vehicle they informed me to tow it to a shop at my expense and have them work with this other shop since I have now moved states. This has been going on since June 26th. photos of the vehicle before and after were taken showing the back damage to the vehicle and the shifter knob and button getting stuck. I have now spent $5,000 on a vehicle I cannot DRIVE and I have given them months and plenty of emails to make it right and they have failed to do so leaving me no choice but to leave this review They used to be such a stand up shop but these two errors without remedy has told me they are no longer a stand up shop and I will never refer them again. I own my own business, and over the years had too many vehicles, and was getting tired of getting low bids & then "surprised" with a high bill when I went to pay-- Having been ripped off for too long, I had had enough and was ready for a change, so since Friendly Auto & I are both members of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce I thought I would take a chance & give them a try. Glad I did It turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made . & Friendly Auto has saved me Thousands of dollars this year alone I own an older import with 70K miles, is out of warranty & it was stating to need repairs too often--but Steve (The owner) mentioned to me that there is an insurance policy against repairs or break down-Peace of mind insurance. After doing my due diligence I took his advice and bought it--3 months later my transmission went out the bill was $1700, my out of pocket portion was less than $200. Just last week I brought my car in for a window that would not go down & noise in the front end. The bill for both needed repairs the bill was just over $1100, My portion was just under $100. In just those 2 instances Steve's advice saved me over $2600 of my money. In all the time I have been doing business with Friendly Auto I can not say enough about them. Steve and his entire Team at Friendly Auto Centers were extremely helpful when my son's Dodge Dakota water pump went out, and ultimately blew a head gasket. We initially towed the truck to Earnhardt Dodge, and they gave us an estimate of $7,000 to fix the issues. A friend recommended Steve to me, so I called Steve to explain....he said he would have it towed from Earnhardt to his place to do his own diagnostics.....no charge by the way as his tow truck happened to be at Earnhardt Dodge. He found the issue was the water pump and blown head gasket, and looked online several times for us to find an engine to replace it...he found a few, and said no pressure....let me know, I found you an engine, and can get it here and installed for $4,000, +/- a couple hundred bucks. He said no hurry on your son's decision, gave us some hints on what we could do as alternatives to try and sell it, offered to leave it on his lot while we tried to sell it. Ended up my son just wanted to scrap it, and Steve is also a notary, so made it even easier on the title transfer. Steve and everyone at Friendly Auto are just outstanding people! I get my work truck serviced there no matter what it needs. I told him I think I needed brakes the last time they changed my oil and when I got back they told me I actually didn't need brakes so I saved a lot of money! Many other places would have just changed the brakes, because I asked, just to make themselves more money. They are fast, they have a comfortable waiting lounge with netflix that they let you watch anything publicly appropriate you like on, how cool is that? Or if you want to wait at home they have a courtesy shuttle, my last mechanic would have laughed at me if I asked for a ride home while he worked on my truck and a ride back after. They know everything there is to know about the industry and make me feel confident that the repairs and maintenance will be done right every time and the bill is always lower than I expect, I know repairs are expensive on a big nice truck like mine but they are always upfront and very clear about the bill and I am always happy to pay it for the priceless service they provide keeping my work truck working! Did not fix my car right the first time trying to say that there were other leaks which they should've caught immediately they never let me see the old parts that I asked for they took a lot of money to not fix the job very dishonest they are expert crooks. always act like theyre too busy to explain things carefully they tell people that they need work that is not necessary they told one guy he needed wipers and a new battery. He said they are new. Just forget it. So they did not fix my car right the first time and it cost me over $2000 they are just so suspicious in behavior. They're also trying to make new problems that I know things were working they say that they don't. Damn take advantage of people. They Lied to BBB and Atty general. Don't trust. I have an Atty now after them. Even lied to Mesa police. I have it on tape and have other witnesses!!!!! Steve is dirty. I don't know where their good reviews are coming from because I haven't seen it I have a suspicion that they're having their friends write in because nobody gets perfect reviews and they have perfect reviews very suspicious. read more

I took my Lexus and my 150 Ford Pick up in for service last week. And the team was great. They truly live up to their name 'Friendly'. Logan and Eric the two customer service representatives treated me like a member of their own family. The turn on the service was as promised, something I always appreciate. The integrity of Friendly Auto Centers, is one of the things that keeps me coming back. I requested they do a thorough check of my Lexus and Ford. I was thinking there might be some issues, like batteries get low on life, inside cabin filters, hoses and belts beginning to wear those type of items might need replacing do age, and our desert heat. They could of told me any of those items need to be replaced and I would have authorized it and been thankful for their catching things before they became a problem. But after their complete inspection of my truck and car, I was told everything was A-Okay in good condition nothing needed replacing at this time. That's what I mean by integrity. I brought my 1991 Honda civic to Friendly's Auto for a radiator problem recently. While it was there I asked to have the little car looked over for what repairs or maintenance issues that needed attention. I bought the Honda a couple years ago with 97,000 miles on it. The car was solid with no rust or major body issues, along with the interior was in great shape. So I had my unrestored classic project car. So Steve and his team went to work. Found all the issues it had for being 31 years. The list was long, in joking you might they jack it up and put a new one under it. But the dollar amount Steve quoted me for the work needed was within my budget I had. Along with the quality of work I new Friendly's is known for. As they have worked on all my vehicles. In closing I would highly recommend Steve and his crew at Friendly's Auto for your minor repairs to the major repairs you my need on your vehicles. Excellent atmosphere, super friendly ,they stand up to there name. I have never really trusted a mechanic shop always had a family member that was mechanic do my work. However that not being an option anymore I found Friendly Auto Center. They have done small jobs like oil changes, and other minor things. To some major jobs like repairing clutch and transmission in one vehicle, replacing an engine engine in another we have 4 vehicles total with my son's and daughters car. I take all of our vehicles to this shop they are now our family mechanic. This shop really does treat you with the utmost respect and has reasonable fees. If for some reason they can not help you with your problem they will go beyond there job and figure out what or who can help you. I have been using this mechanic since I found them 2 years ago. Everything above is personal experiences from work they have done on my families vehicles. I am absolutely and pleasantly surprised by the high level of integrity of the owner and staff at Friendly auto. I took my truck in for an alternator problem and initially was diagnosed as needing replacement. When the new alternator still didn't charge the battery it was discovered that a fuse had blown. To check if my original alternator was damaged required re-installation of the old alternator and it was then found to be functional and the fuse replacement was all it needed. so instead of a new alternator I was charged for fuses and basic diagnostic labor when they already had my permission to replace the alternator. anywhere else would have charged me for the alternator and the fuses Instead of the reason I received " We don't work like that , that's not how we make our money " I will definitely be back when next I need Automotive service. Approximately 2 years ago Friendly Auto Centers replaced the engine in my Toyota Corolla. I was impressed by their pricing, service, and honesty. Now Friendly's is the only shop that works on my cars. A week ago I noticed I had a oil leak went back to Friendly's and talked to Steve, the owner, about the leak. I left the car with him to find out what the problem was and what it would take to fix it. He found the problem and said it was related to the engine he replaced over 2 years ago. He had to do a lot of work to get to the leak and fix it that would cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars. He didn't charge me anything and even had my car detailed for free. Who does that? Well Friendly Auto Centers does! Steve stands behind his work and will only do the work that your car needs. Trying to scare me telling me my car was too dangerous to be driven but I drove it there. Lies to the Attorney General of the state of Arizona and BBB of PHX. Lied to officer Chang of Mesa PD. Did not fix oil leak and was too lazy to do it. Too hard for them. Lost money and paid 1400.00 more for a good and honest mechanic to fix what they couldn't do. Broke wipers just to make more work. Lazy and crooked and incompetent. Have an Atty after them. Will have police report to demo perjury. Don't trust them. Not God-fearing. An end- time deceiver. Dangerous and evil. Once I looked at many of thier 5 star reviews 3 years ago I never looked back and they never have dissapointed. A true gem in the valley for anything auto repair and maintenance. Friendly's will not charge you for uunnecessary repairs. They saved me hundreds of dollers by modifying my original quote when the mechanic doing the work saw that I only needed 3 new engine mounts instead of 4 after starting the job. Once again I called friendly, talked to Tucker, and with very little initial notice, was able to set up a drop of, repair, and recover on just a few minutes. I have used friendly auto exclusively, since my mom told me about friendly a couple years ago.. For a variety of automotive"emergencies". My entire family uses then for all our automotive repairs needs. My daughter was down from Canada and had friendly repair her vehicle, after she had been enduring the necessary repair for some time.. And for a much lower price than she was expecting. ALL of the employees lived up to their company name, Friendly!!! Had a great service experience here at Friendly Auto. We went in with a pretty vague request of what was wrong, and they were able to narrow it down pretty quickly what the issue was and give a price quote. The quote was a little more than we wanted to pay, but still in the agreeable/understandable range. They didn't have the parts in stock to fix it that day, but they ordered them straight away. It took slightly longer than ideal to get the parts, but they had the car fully fixed within hours of receiving them. Despite the inconvenience of the total repair time (including waiting for parts), they supplied a donor vehicle to use in the meantime, which was a great help. read more

My car is a piece of crap. These guys made it feel like much smaller, less stinky, more bearable, polished piece of crap. They are very kind and understanding when it comes to finances and they are the first mechanics I've ever felt that I truly trust. The last time I brought my piece of crap in, they must have really thought I needed new tires (I absolutely did) and they just... discreetly put new tires on my car and never said anything about it or charged me for it. Why? I don't know. I didn't deserve it, but they went and did it anyway. Talk about "above and beyond". 11/10 - highly recommend. read more
