I've been to this location quite a few times because they are super friendly and have incredible tasting food. I love the comfy and quirky decor of the business. Perfect place to spend a Sunday morning with a book and tasty treats. read more

Do not get their drip coffee! It tasted like stale bitter instant coffee that left a sandy taste in your mouth. It was murky too so I'm pretty sure it was powdered coffee? Besides that they had a nice style and good music. Just did not enjoy the drip coffee! read more

Freshy's - As you can see the powder all settled to the bottom and it was just very unpleasant to drink. Their drip coffee is not too fresh! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I grew up going to Freshy's and have always loved the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, their COVID-19 safety practices are extremely lacking. All three times I have attempted to visit the coffee shop during the pandemic, the employees had the masks fully under their noses, both while helping the customers and making the coffees. Additionally, the owner has worn the plastic shield masks that only go around the mouth, which very clearly are not protective as they still allow for particles to get onto food/drinks. I am disappointed because I usually love this coffee shop, I hope they improve their safety so I can return soon! read more

Freshy's was my 1st love coffee shop when I moved to Seattle from New York over a year ago. It was 2 blocks from my apartment and the perfect treat on days I had to ride the bus into work. The quirky ambiance gives it a homey feel making it easy to spend a few hours here mooching off the WiFi and getting some work done. They make a great oat milk Mexican mocha! (I don't know if I've ever ordered anything here BUT that!) I've tried other great coffee spots in West Seattle but I still make a point to stop in here every now and then read more

Looked like an interesting place for lunch, really more like a coffee joint that served some food. I had soup (I think it was Hungarian mushroom) which was severely over seasoned, and a grilled cheese which had what appeared to be one very thin slice of cheese, just enough to hold two slices of bread together. Cannot recommend. read more

Spent the day cruising California street and came across this gem of a cafe. Cozy and inviting and they whip up delicious drip. I'd make this my regular cafe if I lived in the hood. Great spot for posting up for a relaxing sip of Joe or working on business deals, studying up on exams or people watchin'. Staff is super nice too since they pointed us in the right direction for window shopping. read more

To start the staff is super friendly and nice. I've had their ham, cheddar, and horse radish sandwich which is pretty delicious. I also ventured to try some of their freshly made daily soup (Spicy pozole) to take home and eat later. I was definitely not disappointed! It was super flavorful and had the perfect amount of spice! I very much recommend this place. read more

This is probably a place you'll go to only if you work nearby. However, if you do, try the soup. They typically have a veg and non-veg option. Both are homemade. All are creative. I'm not typically a soup person. I usually think I need more food than a soup at lunch. These soups are hearty and delicious. read more

This place kinda reminds me of Central Perk from Friends. Same seating arrangement, fluffy couches, substantial mugs, and brick facing. It's kinda indecisive on its decor and theme though as it's kinda arcade/game roomish or a throwback to old 90s Seattle. There is a fantastic fireplace on the far side of the place. My wife and I came through this place on a cold day and that fireplace was clutch as hell. I loved it. I don't really remember the baristas name but she was an extremely nice and professional little blonde woman. She made our coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I ordered a turkey and cheese with an added egg. The wife ordered a ham and cheese. In short I liked the soy vanilla latte and I really enjoyed the sandwich. The sandwich had really sexy grill lines and was finished with a little sea salt on top. Very nice touch. The wife's ham and cheese was tasty as well from what she told me. We stayed there quite a long while and we didn't run across any annoying clientele or unruly kids which was another plus. Upon our exit we were both thirsty and we took advantage of their wonderful selection of sugary drinks. Things did get a little pricey but all in all a pretty damn good experience. We didn't have to circle a thousand times to park. Things were quiet and pleasant. No complaints from me. Hi read more

The woman behind the counter, who was preparing food couldn't be bothered to wear a mask. If my family's safety, including my kids who are too young to be vaccinated or masked, isn't worth a mask, then your business isn't worth my money. read more

Decided to try something different in Admiral, since we were going to get groceries from Safeway afterwards. This place has such a cool, indie, local vibe. Cozy couches, proper chairs and tables, and the requisite counter seating. Good selection of various breakfast sandwiches, modest selection of baked goods, and the usual suspects on their drink menu. I had a delicious veggie breakfast sandwich (tomatoes, cheddar, spinach) and hubs had an equally delish version that had ham too. For those two sandwiches, a medium latte, and a large hot chocolate, we landed close to $30, so it wasn't the cheapest, but between the yummy food and the friendly service, we'll definitely be back. Ample street parking along California St. read more

Disgusting place. No masks anywhere including the food handlers. Used to go there before the lockdown never again. If they don't have respect for preparing food during Covid, under mandate, what kind of care will they take at other times with other sicknesses? There's no excuse. WEAR A MASK! read more

Great environment, great service, great coffee, great values. Reminds me of old Seattle.

It's hard to be Freshy's for a good drink and tasty treat. They are the best. I can always expect great service at Freahy's.

I really like the coffee and sandwiches here. They make it once you order so it always tastes great. I think the atmosphere is nice to get some work done or causally hangout without the loud noise. Only draw back is lack of power outlets if you have a laptop. read more

Freshy's - Breakfast sandwich is so good! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Really bad service. After my last experience I don't feel comfortable going back because the barista was so rude.

Cozy and laid back, slightly crusty in an old seattle way. Great coffee and friendly service. Haven't tried the food yet but will be going back to try. read more

After hair garnish in my sandwich one time, a wrong order another time, grainy coffee another time, and a general lack of professionalism and hygiene from the serving staff, I've come to the conclusion that Freshy's is not so fresh. I treat Freshy's like a restaurant instead of a coffee shop, so read my review with that perspective. The soups here are great. I have never had a bad one, and often the most unpleasant part of my experience is deciding between multiple delicious-sounding options. My favorite so far is the creamy avocado with jalapeno soup. The soups are (often literally) homemade, however, so you have no idea what options you will have on a given day (or even at different points the same day). Once a soup runs out, that is it. Sandwiches are good and have good filling ratio. Servers are not bubbly and energetic, but in my experience they are friendly. The place has a bit of an arcade-hipster vibe. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Literally the only place I can order a sandwich with tomato in it and EAT THE CRAP out of it- I obviously despise tomatoes. But their soups and sandwiches are killer good. Their coffee- always on point. Cutest mugs and plates, feels like you're right at home. Great artwork all around, cute antique style tables, including some old styled Pac-Man table games as tables... just all around artsy! Free WiFi is always a plus and their password is hilarious. Cute spot in a cute place! Will continue coming back. read more

Good coffee, food and service. I dig the artwork and the uncommonly personal vibe. I dig that folks can bring their dogs. However, space is limited and electrical outlets even more so. I've found it an inconvenient place for work on my laptop. And because it's cramped, it's not very conducive to kids, despite the old arcade game. Especially kids in diapers, no changing station in the bathroom. And it's a little grungy, it doesn't feel very clean and certainly not fresh. All in all, it's a hip spot to stop in for a coffee, maybe a sandwich if they're not busy. But it's low on my list b/c my coffee house needs usually require a laptop and/or a break from the park with the kids. read more

I want to be polite and I don't want to put anyone in trouble or get fired but I really want to see this place improve in the employees! On my first visit I noticed that she was making my sandwich without gloves, wearing gloves is not just a matter of being in the middle of a pandemic, it's hygiene! When I asked her to please put on the glove and make me another sandwich she was angry and arrogant, it was clear that she didn't like it and she said "I wash my hands". Like girl??? Her friend also said "everything here is clean and sanitized", ok but, where is her gloves? Since when this is normal? Gloves is not just a matter of COVID, but HYGIENE! The food and drink in this place is excellent but clearly they have no hygiene. She finished my sandwich and she was clearly mad and uncomfortable, she badly wrapped it and gave to me, all this because I asked her politely to put on a glove. Thank you for the good food but I'm never coming back just because of your employees! I will be sure to tell everyone and in my social media to not go to this place. TAKE COVID SERIOUS! read more

It was good but not great in my opinion. I ordered the veggie breakfast sandwich with no tomato: so eggs, cheese and spinach. It was kind of lacking in substance and flavor. There wasn't enough egg to fill the sandwich and there wasn't anything that made my tastebuds go YUM. The salt they put on the outside is pretty good But needs more than that, ya know? I also got a day old muffin. I asked the person working what kind of muffin it was and she said she thinks it's ginger? Nope. It was like a whole wheat berry muffin? I don't even know. It was okay. I do like that they sold day old pastries for 1/2 price though. The atmosphere is cool. I always like a place that serves drinks in mix matched coffee mugs and glasses. Another thing to note was the staff was pretty loud. It was kind of slow, so I get that they didn't have much to do, but I shouldn't be able hear their whole conversation about drinking and partying. It was distracting and I wasn't a fan read more

Today was my 3rd time at Freshy's. Love their breakfast sandwiches so much I brought my mom who was visiting from out of town here. The sandwiches were still great, but there was a young woman there with a dog, a Warmereiner (sp). She was at the counter near where the sandwiches are made. Other young people joined her. They were clearly friends of the young man who was working there. They were all chatting while he was making sandwiches, some people went behind the counter, some were playing with the dog. No one was wearing gloves and I just kept wondering about sanitary conditions. I am allergic to dogs, by the way. I didn't see any of the women I am accustomed to seeing work there, just a couple of young men. They were friendly, but the dog and the coming and going of folks behind the counter made me uncomfortable. read more

Just what Seattle needs ... another coffee house, right? That's what I was thinking. But Freshy's doesn't disappoint. Besides, it has made great use of one of my favorite overused words from my middle school days: fresh (fresh) adjective fresh*er, fresh*est - Excellent; appealing; great. Slang: Dope; sick; tight. However, I'm glad they didn't name the place Dopey's, Sicko's, or Tighty's. Somehow, it just wouldn't have the same sense of coziness. And Freshy's is indeed cozy. We were greeted by the barista's smiling face right as we walked in the door. The fire in the fireplace was very firey. A nice treat on yet another snowy day in West Seattle (as I flash dual Westside signs with both gloved hands.) And what is that I see? A full-size Ms. Pac Man machine practically begging me to drop in the quarter I just found across the street on the frozen tundra of Hiawatha Park. Oh, Ms. Man ... you have no idea what you're in for. But before I gobble up ghosts with a female version of the pellet-hungry paccer, I must get some nourishment. After all, that is why we came. The coffee drinks were great. But the best part: they serve them in actual coffee mugs that, I swear, they must have picked up at one of my Mom's garage sales three years ago. No two are alike. Rad. (err, I mean fresh). Caramel latte in a Batman mug for me; drip coffee in a Big Hug Mug for Alexis S. I was a tad hungry, so I ordered up a tuna melt. Delicious! I don't recommend having a caramel latte and a tuna melt at the same exact time ... that was my bad. But mutually exclusive of one another, the latte and the sandwich were excellent. Tasty bites + great coffee + friendly people + comfy fireside couches + a Batman mug + new high score on the Ms. Pac Man machine = FRESH! read more

I love having this unique coffee shop in my neighborhood of West Seattle. It has a very homey feel--from the random (and I mean that in the very best way possible way) furniture to the friendly staff. It's a great place for me to have meetings, pop in for a coffee on my neighborhood walk or to sit outside and people watch. During this health crisis, I'm doing everything I can to support local businesses so they'll stay open and this is one that I really hope can weather the storm! read more

Taking a little work-related trip to west Seattle, I could not make a turn to SBX and continued across the hill wishing.. WISHING for a good coffee place to boost me up and cheer through the grey clouds. Wishes are for me! I found this perfect quiet, spirited and so healthy place. The cofee was so good, I called my co-worker to see if she wanted one.. and left merrily with good spirits, a coffee gift and a new place to stop by for refuge fromthe city. read more

I've become a semi-regular here in the last month or so and there's a reason for it. The food is good, fresh, and reasonably priced. The drinks, though nothing astounding or new, are consistently well made. The coffee, too, is always fresh and strong. If you prefer your baristas to be high spirited and energetic--this is probably not the place for you. That being said, the baristas here all seem to have a mellow and positive attitude which is refreshing. Nothing they say or do seems ingenuine and, having worked in food service myself, that's a definite plus. During a very recent visit I watched the owner deal with a couple of difficult (to say the least) customers and it is what urged me to write this review. Rather than bow to them and throw her employees under the bus, she stood up for her baristas while still trying to meet the needs of this difficult customer. It's nice to see a small business owner who values her employees enough to not worry about upsetting an irate customer. Unfortunately, I don't see enough of that these days. If I have any complaints about this place it would be that the music is sometimes too loud for my preference. But this is, obviously, nothing that would keep me away. The atmosphere is otherwise wonderful. read more

I came here for lunch and they make the most amazing sandwiches! I arrived with a bunch of coworkers and among us we ordered just about everything on the menu. Every sandwich was spectacular! I had the grilled caprese sandwich with mozzarella, tomato, and fresh basil. Someone else ordered the brie and apple sandwich (grilled with onion and spinach). The grilled eggplant on foccocia was also amazing! We went at the stroke of noon and there was a long line but it was worth it. Calling this place a "coffee & tea" shop is a gross understatement. I am giving this place five stars in the category of little coffee shops that sell sandwiches. PS: the cookies were delish! read more

Freshy's is neat. It has a neat logo and a neat name. The inside, not unlike C & P Coffee, is kind of like the inside of a house. Lots of big plushy chairs coffee tables, magazines, etc. I think I even remember seeing an ottoman. I had a good coffee and an even better sandwich. If I'm in that area again I'll be sure to drop in for a coffee at FRESHY'S, where I'll play a couple of games of Ms. Pacman and read a whole bunch. read more

Great coffee shop! I didn't have their coffee, but I got a cheddar scone and it was delicious and relatively cheap. They have outlets at every table which is good for working. I stopped at Freshy's this morning. A latte and 1 lbs of coffee, and a breakfast sandwich. $30. So there were two staff members one charged me and grabbed a sandwich off of the the counter (someone left it). The staff member was reheating someone else's sandwich for me. YUCK The other staff went back to her breakfast. Someone else's sandwich and NO LATTE! No need to return. Judy read more

Really unkind staff. I was not surprised to see all the other one star reviews. As someone who also works in food service, I know it's not an easy job interacting with customers, but my god. Freshy's is really open about their dislike for proper customer service. Also, their whole anti-mask situation is ridiculous and immature. Sad to see a local business not care about the health and safety of their community. read more

Nice, friendly service, great soups and sandwiches! Only thing that keeps it a 4 instead of a 5 is that it's usually understaffed, with only one person available, and if there are more than a few people in the establishment, it'll take a while to get your food. The wait is always worth it though! Never had a problem with parking. Good prices, good service, good food. Infrequent long wait, omnipresent self absorbed, discourteous customer(s). One other complaint, which has nothing to do with the business or it's employee's, is the inevitable customer that is writing their dissertation or epic novel or whatever, taking up one of the booths to themselves. If this is you, fellow Freshy's frequenter, know this: Sometimes a group of 4 could really use all of that real estate that you and your Macbook Pro are taking up. I know it's a pain to put your backpack on the ground next to you vs in he seat next to you, but 'cmon. read more

Wait staff was rude... I can take the rudeness if the food was good, but the food was average at best. My friend ordered a waffle and it took them over 45 minutes to make it. You order your food at the cash register and I stood there for about 5 minutes while the wait staff ignored me. Freshy's is trying to be this new hip, bohemian type restaurant like Luna Park on Harbor avenue. But the reason why Luna Park is successful is because their wait staff is attentive and their food is good... Freshy's is neither. Do yourself a favor and do not go here, it's a waste of time and money. read more
