This might be the best coffee shop I've ever been to…read more Or maybe just one of the kindest human baristas. Coffee is great! We will be back. But what impressed me more than anything was an act of kindness from the barista. An unhoused person waited in line behind us. I didn't notice until we were finished ordering... Then this person proceeded to wait until they were done making our drinks. They asked for a hot drink please. The barista treated them just like any other costumer. Made the drink. Gave it to him and then proceeded to ask him if he'd like a day old pastry? He said yes! The barista grabbed the pastry and he was on his way. I was a little shook. Being from LA I don't see the unhoused community treated this way. Showing them basic decency offering them something warm to drink and a pastry. This town runs a little differently and it warmed my sometimes jaded heart. I stayed and chatted with the barista and thanked them for their humanity. They explained they have a community card where the community shared the expense. I'm floored. I hope this spreads and I'm gonna do my best to do the same. Another person just came in. Same treatment. I'll be back. Thank you to this business for leading by example.

Staying at a near apartment while in town from Washington, D.C., Moonshot was a worthy coffee stop. It's along a strip of many colorful murals and popular restaurants and bars. If you need a warm place, pop into Moonshot Coffee.

I've had matcha baked goods before that lacked the flavor, so this was great! There's a small dollop of red bean inside. Wish the dollop was bigger. I enjoyed the custard Blueberry danish - kinda boring, but the pastry outside was crisp and the blueberries were refreshing Also got a chocolate croissant. These 5 pastries were $28.50. It was so neat to see everyone baking in the back and to select a coffee and fresh pastry from their display. I opted for a ham and cheese croissant and their special coconut cloud cold brew. Overall, we're big fans of Fresh Flours and will definitely come back to this location again.

The coffee itself was very good- I am one that likes my coffees bit sweeter and it was the perfect taste without any modifications. I also ordered the breakfast taco- small but for the price you pay, is well. Does come with a salsa packet. Will be in again!

The POG cake (~$7) was also not sweet and tasted so fresh, especially with the whipped cream. I found the cake itself to be quite dry though. In the back there is a huge mural of Dolly Parton, Anthony Bourdain, and a tiny Bob Ross in the style of American Gothic. The walls are covered with trinkets from the 80s and 90s like Homies and California Raisin figurines and KISS Pez dispensers. The food: Smashwich - A really good breakfast sandwich. The hash browns give it some added crunch that is surprising but welcome. Chicken in a Biscuit - The biscuit and chicken taste great. It's a bit hard to eat because of how large of a bite it is and how firm the components are. Vanilla Cream Shokupan Doughnut - The donut portion is tasty and there is a ton of whipped cream on this. The cream is quite heavy though and leaves a fatty mouthfeel. Wish this was a lighter cream that's fresh filled into the pastry, but that's another prep step before serving. Only downside - I think their space is somewhat awkward for seating and overall flow. However they are doing what they can with what they have so it's not a knock on them per se, just putting it out there that the flow is a little off especially when busy.
