There isn't very many decorations or Bollywood music playing (in fact, both TVs had ESPN on). However, it's the food that's the star of the show and that's what brings us back time and time again. If you eat here, I would definitely recommend washing everything down with their proprietary sweet tea that is infused with 19 different herbs. If they bottled it, I'd buy it by the case. The good folks running the place are super nice and definitely care about the quality of your dining experience. I can't wait to go back! The menu is pretty extensive, but I went with the classic Chicken Tikka Masala, which is pretty much my go-to at any Indian restaurant. It took about 10 minutes to prepare, and in that time frame there were probably 5-6 people that came in to pick up to-go orders. Needless to say, this is a popular place! I have denied myself the deliciousness that is Fresh Indian Grill for four months now. It's so conveniently located, that I was afraid I'd go everyday. Yesterday was the day I finally caved only to find that my suspicion was correct. I'll be back. I came in to pick up a carryout lunch. I chose the chicken saag with a medium level spice and made it a combo meal with garlic naan and a drink. The chicken in the saag tasted like fresh grilled, juicy chicken. The saag was wonderfully cooked and seasoned. The rice was perfectly cooked and the portion was a good size. The medium spice seemed just right for me. I like a little spice but not too much. I forgot to ask them to save the cilantro, but I picked off the garnish from the saag easily and what was on the naan didn't seem to bother me. I think the iced tea was a chai tea. I'm OBSESSED with here! Seriously, you have to go. I've been here multiple times throughout the years and it's some of the best service and Indian food in Indianapolis. You walk up to order and the menus are easy to ready (and separated by signature and vegetarian options- which i found helpful). I've had the chicken tikka masala and the aloo gobhi. Both have been great! I totally recommend making it a meal and getting the combo. The naan will blow you away! So you get a pretty large portion of whatever you order and four pieces of naan- amazing deal. Amazing taste. I love it. More importantly, the service is awesome. There's always someone asking how your meal is or if there's anything they can get for you. I really appreciate it. I didn't know that and ordered an additional side of rice, so I ended up with too much rice. Don't make my mistake! Just order the meal and you'll get rice. Also, the menu is priced very fairly. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala and Samosa. The Masala was very good and I would highly recommend it, it was fresh, came in a great to-go container and was very hot. Food was good, the naan was tender, beware., it seemed like everything was a little bit on the spicier side. I like spice, but I ordered mild so my kid can have some... but it still had a little bit of a bite to it. My friend ordered Medium and said that her's tasted pretty hot as well. With almost every other eatery closed for Easter, we were thrilled to find a highly rated option in Fresh Indian Grill. We were looking for something quick and tasty and not a chain. Our feast included mango lassi, garlic naan, papadum, veggie pakora, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and yellow daal. The stars of the show were the chicken tikka masala and yellow daal---and, of course, the mango lassi paired wonderfully. Painting the picture: located in a strip mall, dozen or so tables, order your food at the counter and they'll bring it to your table. The guy working at the counter was accommodating and helpful with the menu. In total, our generously sized meal for four with drinks was $60. The lamb itself was delicious ( all two pieces of it ) the rest of the meal was horrendous. I wanted to try something different for tonight. For $28 I expect A LOT more !!! Like two servings. There were plenty of seats open to sit and hang out while we waited. We got the chicken tikka masala with medium heat and chicken korma with mild heat. You get to pick the heat when you order. We also got a side of the garlic naan. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. The tikka masala is tomato based and medium spice was a little on the hot side for me but my husband liked it. I preferred the korma which has coconut flavors and was a bit sweeter. The side of rice was really yummy too - not dry at all. Customer service is great. Food has always been good... up until today. Picked up almost $50 worth of food this afternoon. Got home and ate my food, kids ate theirs. Cut open up the last piece of chicken to feed my grandson and saw that the chicken was raw; bloody and uncooked. Disgusting! Called the restaurant and asked for a manager. The person that answered the phone said the manager wouldn't be in until tomorrow at 11 am. I asked him if they had an email address to send some pictures of the raw food I received and he magically found the manager for me to talk to. When the manager got on the phone and I explained what happened, his response was "well, what do you want me to do, did you want me to remake the food?" I mean, no apology at all. He was rude and not very concerned about selling undercooked chicken. I told him I would send him an email with pictures and asked for him to respond back to my email. I usually go atleast once here whenever I visit Carmel, IN. I have been visiting this place ever since it opened. The food is delicious and I usually go for chicken tikka special with rice and garlic naan. You can't really go wrong with this. The place is clean and the service is nice. Its more of the fast-food style restaurant. You queue up, order at the counter, pay and then take a seat and wait for the food to arrive. They also do take outs. Though I wished they used a different container material for food. It's made of a bit cardboard-ish matrial and when you do take out on chicken tikka, the hot curry gets stuck and the paper starts melting off into the food. Other than that, no complains. First impression the restaurant is very clean and I was immediately greeted by Jason and Gary at the front counter. Very friendly. I let them know it was my first time there as I was picking up my take out order. Jason insisted I try their ice tea and gave me a cup to try it.
