This place has been on my list to try since they opened and I finally had the opportunity to stop…read morein for lunch. I honestly didn't know what to expect other than I knew it was healthy food options. Parking is tough. I had to park a bit away during lunch time because their little section is pretty small and it was packed, so I parked over by Whole Foods and walked over. Not a big deal just something to be aware of, and if you are lucky enough to find a spot near them, it's tight getting in and out so just a side note. Upon walking in it was a pretty long line but again it was lunch time (around noon), so no issues. You order at and then get a number and find a place to sit. They have options to sit inside and out. We decided to sit outside since it was a nice day. The food came pretty quickly which was nice since it was lunch time. I ordered a kale salad which was amazing. My lunch partner had a wrap and she said it was really good. You can tell they are using really top notch ingredients which is good. Pricing is pretty typical for these type of places.

I've been here a few times with different groups of friends. We all liked the bright and attractive…read moredining area, however it was very noisy inside so each time we chose to sit on the patio. I've ordered and sampled several different menu items. I really liked the green chili queso, the roasted broccoli, smashed potatoes, and the other roasted vegetables. On the last visit my friend ordered the salmon entrée. It was a very, very, small piece of salmon. I don't know if that is the usual size or not but definitely not what we expected for the price. The only thing I have tried here that I didn't care for was the Mother Earth Bowl. When I ordered it the employee mentioned that it was their most popular item, but I thought the greens were very bitter and the dressing didn't complement the vegetables. But apparently everyone else loves it. The parking lot was congested each time I have been here. Traffic flow is difficult so next time I will park farther away and walk rather than navigate the small lot in front of the restaurant.

WOW! This is my new favorite restaurant!…read more I grew up in Southern California; Mexican food is comfort food. As a new(ish) vegan, I was resigned to cooking my own, whenever I craved Mexican food... but at Tlaolli, I was spoiled for choice! I ended up trying the hibiscus taco (clever, creative, with a wonderful melding of spices and a punch of bright acidity), the tofu mole taco (smoky and creamy, with well-balanced spices), and the Nonono tamale (no meat, no dairy, no gluten), which was roasted poblano peppers and soy chorizo with black bean paste and corn masa (a bit dry, but super flavorful and great chew). And there was housemade tamarindo, which I have always loved, and it wasn't over-sweetened, which I loved even more. Tart and bright and refreshing! His Goatness the Hubbins got a mixed platter of vegan tacos (I was proud of him), and dad got meat items, which he enjoyed (the owner let us know all meats are all natural, with no hormones). And we all shared salsa and chips, which was smooth and well-flavored, with lots of spices but only mild heat. (I could have drunk the stuff.) Atmosphere is intimate and cozy, with a few tables inside the colorful cafe and a few painted picnic tables outside. Everything is clean and tidy, including the restroom. Service was friendly, sociable, and passionate about the food they're creating. Seriously, I love this place. Can't wait to try more of the vegan menu options! (I fell on my food so fast I totally failed to get pictures... but the pics at https://www.tlaolli.org are accurate!)

I love how many options there are for vegetarians and vegans. I ordered the Torta, street corn…read more(special for the day), and a juice. The staff is friendly. Bright interior and some tables outside. Sitting outside was nice and peaceful. All the flavors of the dishes were delicious. Will definitely return for another meal. FYI- you can park next door in the library parking lot.

Oh man, we must've done something right because the food gods have blessed us all with Vegetarian…read moreVillage. Indy, do you hear me? Please listen...You have been blessed by the food gods! You won't find this concept in many cities so I hope we can recognize it as the gem that it is and take advantage of it to keep them around. So what is it you ask. First, it's not a restaurant. Rather, imagine if mom (dad, sister, aunt or whoever can cook in your family...mom just connotes warmth and wholesome for me) were to cook healthy, wholesome meals and bring them to your house whenever you wanted. This is what it is; it's a catering service but I think they're aiming to cater to us, to singles, to families and to our everyday lives. Awesome, right? Many of us don't have time to cook or we just don't want to so we eat out. There's a downside to this: we often have to sacrifice healthy food for convenient and/or tasty food. It's a First World problem, I know (one with shockingly negative consequences but that is a lecture for another setting). The brilliance of Vegetarian Village and places like this is they offer a perfect solution to this modern day problem in that we can have all three: healthy, tasty and convenient. The Holy Trinity of modern eating. No sacrificing. Again, this is why I'm thrilled to have them here... The food: I wanted to order the holiday meal but since there are no Yelp reviews yet and I knew nothing about their food, I was apprehensive to do so since I would be ordering for 8. I called and the owner was kind enough to fix me a plate to try at their Central Ave. location. An entire meal: pastry stuffed turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet mashed potatoes, cauliflower, and string beans with pearl onions and almonds. How cool is that? Good business practices is all I can say to that. I had no idea what to expect but yum. The meatless turkey was delicious as were all of the sides. The turkey is a recipe she has created on her own. Like I said, this is wholesome cooking...comfort food prepared with heart (metaphorically...this is a vegetarian business after all.) Classics made meatless by professionals. This food is truly an extension of the chefs and they are very passionate about what they're cooking for us. I was fortunate enough to talk with the owner for a bit, and the dishes they are making sound amazing. Meatloaf, lasagna, sloppy joes, chicken noodles, veggie jambalaya (all meatless of course). My favorite bit: they offer 5 entrees for $45. This is crazy affordable and so perfect for singles or couples. Families of course too. I cannot wait to try everything they offer on their menu and I will keep you posted. Some things to keep in mind: This is a new company so my understanding is that the chefs still work other jobs. For this reason, we need to place our orders a week ahead of time. It's not like ordering a pizza so a little planning is required. Also, pick up is available. I think they offer this in both Carmel and midtown on Central. Great locations. Check out their website because I believe they are going to have a sampling/tasting of their food soon. Thank you Vegetarian Village for bringing this concept to Indy and making our lives a little easier...and healthier!

I have lived in Zionsville for 8 years now and I don't know how I never discovered this restaurant…read morebefore. They are my absolutely favorite restaurant now! The food is amazing!!!!! You just have to eat there! I crave their food everyday now! It's healthy food, the rice, the chicken, the naan, everything is healthy, full of amazing flavor and so good!!!! Very friendly service! Very clean and beautiful inside.

Great Service, but Extremely Disappointing Food…read more I decided to give Saffron a try today after seeing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience fell well short of expectations. We ordered several dishes, starting with the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was incredibly underwhelming. It lacked spice and flavor, which was disappointing considering how rich and flavorful this dish typically is. We also ordered the Chicken 65, and unfortunately, that was another miss. The taste was unpleasant, and neither dish left us wanting another bite. To make matters worse, we discovered a long strand of hair in our garlic naan, which was honestly pretty off-putting. We also ordered papadum that never made it to our table. Thankfully, we weren't charged for it, but it was still another oversight during an already disappointing dining experience. I do want to give credit where it's due: the customer service was good, and I appreciated that. However, good service can only go so far when the quality of the food doesn't match. I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, especially given its glowing reviews, but between the lackluster flavors, missing appetizer, and hair in our naan, I can't say I'll be returning. Unfortunately, this one was a miss for me.
