Food: - Chicken Makhani - Chicken Karahi - Veg Samosa - Garlic Naan I ordered the food through DoorDash. The positive is that for the price it was a large amount of food. The negative is that the food did not have any spiciest. To me, the food was bland. I had to add my own spices to accommodate the taste. I would've like each dish to have more flavor and spice. The garlic naan was plain no garlic. The only thing that was really up to par was the rice.

Let me preface this review with saying I just do not think I care for Indian food in general. We went here for lunch and my coworkers enjoyed the food. The dining room seemed well kept and updated. We arrived right at 11am when they opened and there was no music or background noise for about 45 mins so it was really awkwardly silent. I ordered chicken fried rice from the Indo-chinese section of the menu because I know I generally don't care for Indian flavors. I thought maybe I could try something that was a little different and I was pretty disappointed with still having heavy indian flavors. The naam bread was really good. The staff was not too friendly either and almost seemed bothered by us. I doubt I will be back but again take it with a grain of salt because I just do not care for this type of food.

This is the best Indian food I've had in awhile. We started with the vegetable samosas which were great. Plenty of sauces brought to the table to go alongside them. We also ordered the lamb korma and the chicken tikka masala (thanks to other Yelp reviews). The korma is the best I've had and like the other reviews stated, the tikka masala was top tier as well. Highly recommend both. Best of all was the garlic naan. You can tell it was freshly made and cooked well enough to rise. Not overbearing on the garlic like a lot of other places. The wait staff was very attentive, constantly filling our water. We chose to dine in and look forward to the next time we can either go again or order from home.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Indy! They have a vast menu and everything tastes really good. I highly recommend to try their Sunday buffet. Their garlic naan is always hot and fresh. Their food is not too spicy, but they can make as spicy as you want. I would give them a five, but the service isn't the best. Our servers usually don't come back to refill waters unless we try to get their attention. At our most recent visit, we tried to get our server's attention so that we could get waters and boxes, but when he saw us, he went inside the kitchen and never came back out. The receptionist, who is probably the owner, was very nice and he would fill our waters. Other than the service, this is a great place to get Indian food.

the food wasn't really spectacular, but it wasn't bad or anything. service was nice and pretty standard. restaurant was pretty quiet.

My go to Indian restaurant in Indy for the last ~15 years. Their wide selection of curries, biryani, and other Indian dishes are comforting and delicious. The inside of the restaurant is no-frills. We usually opt for take-out, which provides generous portions for a reasonable price. When dining in, the service is quick and professional. Tonight, we ordered the Lamb Korma, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas. All fantastic!

I decided to try some Indian food through Amber Indian restaurant with Uber Eats. The food was incredible for Indian food. The chicken Tikki Marsala with jasmine rice was fantastic. It was the perfect amount of flavors combined into a great dish. The tomato soup was delicious and had a lovely taste. The vegetable samosas were unique and different, but they were good and tasted great. The naan bread was a perfect compliment for the Chicken Tikki Marsala, and tasted wonderful. I have driven past the restaurant many times, and have looked inside the restaurant. It does have a beautiful ambiance from what I can tell. I cannot speak to the service since I have not been to the restaurant, but I will plan on dining in the restaurant very soon to get the full experience and service from the staff. Amber Indian restaurant has wonderful food and would highly recommend it for Uber Eats. Go check it out!!

We've always enjoyed the buffet prequarantine. We've had Amber Indian around 4 times during quarantine and have been more than satisfied every time.

Still one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the greater Indy region. 3/5 stars however because the food was lukewarm and did not seem well-maintained. Despite the good assortment of options to choose from, the buffet didn't seem as clean as I would have liked. If you don't mind these things it's definitely good bang for your buck. My recommendation is to order regular entrees for dinner though. Not sure if it's a different chef or manager during those times but this was my husband's consensus as well. We both have ordered takeout here countless times but decided not to return for the buffet. We like our food hot and fresh and will pay the premium for that in the future. They didn't have palak paneer or paneer tikka masala for brunch either which are what I typically eat.

They have a lunch menu but we ordered from the regular dinner menu. My wife had the Punjav's Favorite Tikka Masala with chicken. It was $19 and is ranked as some of the best she said she has ever had. I enjoyed the Kashmiri Rogan Josh. You can order it with lamb, chicken, or bone-in goat. I chose the lamb. The serving was very generous and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was $19 as well. We ordered the Rosemary Garlic Naan, for $5, to accompany the dishes and it did not disappoint. All dishes were served with rice. The decor is upscale modern. The servers were very attentive, pleasant. and knowledgeable about the menu. This is the best Indian food I have had in Carmel and ranks very high among any Indian restaurants I have experienced. But I gather that Desi District cares not for all that mess: everyone is welcome. This is a neat spot to grab a hot lunch or stock up on food of the Indian persuasion, like the frozen packages of naan I scored. Initially, I stopped in because I needed a tomato. They have lots of tomatoes here, plus other fresh produce, like potatoes, garlic, ginger, peanuts in the shell, and other things. They also have aisles of packaged food, such as cookies, tea, gelatin (?!? Yeah, they have lots of gelatin here), noodles, spices, seeds, curry, snacks, and lots of other things. Along with the frozen naan, I also got some ice cream treats for my kids. I picked the most obscure flavors (obscure for our American gringo palates), and we ended up loving all of the Indian ice cream flavors we tasted. There's a food court here with lots of seating. I didn't eat any of the hot food this time, but I saw some samosas that looked dang delicious, so I'll have to be back to try them. The people who work here are exceedingly friendly and kind. There is a chai station, bakery and ice cream stand as well. There's so much to choose from. We ordered the lunch special Veg Thali, which is a plate containing a mix of little dishes, so you can taste everything. For some reason they were out of rice, which was the main ingredient on the plate so they gave us the option of additional naan, which was fine. We liked all the dishes on the Thali. I especially enjoyed the Paneer dish. The curries were warm and delicious. There was a very spicy hot spread that we loved. I'd get Thali again. We also ordered some garlic naan. The naan seemed to be frozen as the bread was hot on the outside but cold on the inside. We were disappointed by the garlic naan. But the regular naan that came with our Thali was good. We also ordered samosas which were flavorful and filling. An order comes with some 3 Samosas and a sweet dipping sauce. Very good. They must be a little short staffed. Food came out over the course of 10-30 minutes. We purchased a few things from the grocery store prices are a bit steep, but food looks fresh. Parking is adequate in the private lot. Restrooms are available. I'd come back. I love Indian food.
