Out of the way and excellent food and service I would definitely come back again! This is a gemstone hidden in the industrial plex!

This is easily one of my favorite, if not my favorite, restaurant in Baton Rouge. Born and raised in the small town of Napoleonville, La, he cooks with a passion that can only be achieved by a true lover of joyous cooking. My wife and I went there for our 41st anniversary dinner and we throughly enjoyed the experience. His restaurant is spotless clean and tastefully decorated. The meal was extremely delightfully and his bread pudding is a lifetime experience. Because it was our anniversary, he even comped the bread pudding. We went there today for lunch and it was still enjoyable. My wife had a wedge salad and she especially enjoyed the smoked ham and candied bacon on it. I had a tomato basil wrap which included smoked ham and smoked turkey and at least two types of cheeses. His prices are reasonable and I would recommend him to anyone. He also caters to some of the big wigs in town! You can't miss with this place!

I have been here several times and it is one of my favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge for great flavorful food. The food was amazing and great. For an appetizer, I had a dozen of their chargrilled oysters. You can see the smoke and smell them cooking them on the way in. They have this amazing butter sauce packed with tons of flavor and it is served with their French bread to soak up that butter! Some other appetizers we got were their fried eggplant with marinara sauce and their buffalo wings which are so good. For my main entree, I got their blackened shrimp pasta which was seasoned well and came with garlic bread. My twin got their hamburger steak and it was delicious. Some drinks I got for the night were their old fashioned and their Long Island iced tea. The ambiance is nice and perfect for a family outing or to celebrate graduation in my case. This will always be a restaurant I will coming back to. The service was great and Chance was amazing the entire time accommodating our large party! Thanks so much.

I literally lost my appetite after I took a bite of shrimp in their Eggplant Supreme dish. Never in decades of eating out have I had an establishment serve me what I got tonight. The shrimp had a big shrimp on top of the bite that I took, under it were several smaller shrimp, completely dry, stuck together. And they ... crunched. I spit them out, they tasted like dried, week old shrimp. Simply awful. I love a night out for dinner but I literally lost my appetite. The restaurant response was as bad. The waitress took the plate. No apology. Nothing from the kitchen other than, do you want something else? City Cafe must have way too much business to serve a dish like this and not say a word back. I'm not a shrinking violet but damn, a simple sorry might have been nice.

The crawfish were flavorful, seasoned well, and priced right, which is honestly the perfect combination when you're sitting down ready to eat. They had that messy, not really spicy, addictive quality that keeps you reaching for "just one more" until the tray is empty. I also tried the buffalo wings. They weren't that great, if I'm being honest, but I was hungry so they got the job done. The crawfish are clearly the star of the show here anyway. The atmosphere felt relaxed and unpretentious, exactly the kind of place you want for seafood with friends, cold drinks, and a table full of shells piling up by the minute. If you're wondering whether I'll be back, I already have.

The restaurant was full due to the holiday, it was clean and it was comfortable with all parties there.

I went for the lunch buffet for $13.99 and feel like the BR location def has more options than the NOLA location (I haven't been to that spot in over a year though). There are some seafood options during lunch (salt and pepper crab, salmon, assortment of fish, and mussels) but if you want a wider variety, dinner is the way to go. I didn't try the sushi because the majority of them were always wiped out but the chefs in the back were doing their best to replenish whenever they could. Nothing to extraordinary with the sushi, I feel like you could get most of em at the grocery store. My favs at lunch were hands down the salmon and the baked mussels w cheese on top. The salmon was SEASONED SO WELL and I just kept going back for more. The mussels and cheese was def a hit too bc I could see the chefs restock every so often. There's unlimited boba (not included in the buffet) and I had the mango, which tasted watered down to me. The ice cream was amazing, got a mix of the taro and mango. The cakes were extremely dry and the mousse was the only thing saving it from totally crumbling in my mouth. For the most part, the food was piping hot, but there were a few options that were cold when I ate them, hence the 4 stars. The staff were incredibly sweet and would clean tables immediately after someone would leave.

The ambiance was kinda loud and bustling which was to be expected honestly. We came on the weekend for their brunch and it was packed from front to back. They sat us within ten minutes of us arriving to the restaurant. We had an amazing server who took great care of our family while we celebrated our mom. I got their omelet with an amazing Belgium waffle and crispy breakfast potatoes on the side. Everything was cooked to perfection. I loved every single bite. We also got 4 of their mimosa and champagne deals where if you buy a bottle of champagne, you get four juices of your choice with it. We had an amazing experience and we will definitely keep this restaurant on our list of great brunch spots!

Thursday wing night can't be beat. 75-cent wings - big, meaty wings, too. On this visit, I was a little surprised to learn that on Thursdays the selection of wing sauces is much longer than other days. But that's okay - I'm a fan of Mason's original sauce. Oh, and you'll find those on the appetizer menu. It's not a regular meal. Again - fine with me. An order of wings and a side of fries and I'm all set. The burgers are huge and delicious. The build your own burger menu means endless possibilities. Chicken and waffles and the onion rings are also very good. The only thing better than the wings is the build your own Bloody Mary menu. This is definitely one of our regular places (which also makes it surprising I haven't written a review. I'm such a slacker).

He only got me on this place about a year ago......and I never looked back. This Philly cheesesteak is what everyone else wishes theirs tasted like. It is the ABSOLUTE BEST! I'm not exaggerating, I have not found anything better! AND THEN, every single thing I've tried on the menu is DIVINE! I ordered the wrong thing last time I went. My husband orders two sandwiches when he goes.....no lie. And I tried to order just one of them one time when he wasn't with me. So I ordered and took a bite and it wasn't the one I thought it was....not their fault, I just ordered the other one my husband usually does. And the thing is, that first bite was so juicy and flavorful, I didn't even mind. You literally cannot go wrong with this restaurant. Close your eyes, point, and spin. Whatever menu item you land on, and order will be PHENOMENAL trust me. I think I got my dad hooked, now on to the rest of the family!!! Before they changed names and menu names, the Ranchero with Bacon was the best thing you could get anywhere. It was fantastic. (Renamed as the Bacon Cheesy) The old pictures are gone now, but the Ranchero was a beautiful, smooth sphere, baked golden brown, with just the right amount of cheese and ranchero sauce. Now? Now it's a sad looking meat pie shaped thing, barely looks cooked through, no discernible cheese, no ranchero sauce, and a half-cold clump of pre-cooked bacon bits inside. Last time I ordered a breakfast taco, it was so greasy it dripped onto my shirt. And anything that greasy just isn't good anyway. The dough used for the regular kolaches is good (a bit sweet), but the smoked sausage kolache has a sad, thin piece of sausage in it.
