I came here for a late lunch and beers on a random weekday in fall. It wasn't very crowded at the…read moretime, which I consider to be the absolute jackpot of times to visit any establishment. Our server was super kind and attentive, and was very capable of answering my questions about the beer menu. I wish there was a darker option on the menu, but I get that it's "only" October and I'm hoping to come back and see some options as winter kicks into gear. There were still a lot of ipa/hazy ipa options on the menu but definitely some more October-type beers as well as your standard lager/ale types. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and while I'm not really a slaw person, it came on the sandwich and I hate to remove such a key item. I liked the texture of the slaw more than normal slaw you often get, and the chicken was nicely cooked. It was a bit messy, but I'm just a messy person so zero judgment there! I also ate it in its entirety. I wasn't as wild about their french fries -- definitely needed ketchup and a lot of them were kind of the burnt crispy reject ends. Next time I might opt for a side salad, but I struggle to turn down potatoes in any form. I'm very much looking forward to returning for a Friday night fish fry and to continue to sample their beer menu. I was likewise impressed that they had a pretty extensive cocktail and liquor menu - something for everyone. Definitely recommend checking them out!

We have two young kids so this was the perfect place for us - something on the menu for everyone, casual but inviting atmosphere and friendly/attentive service. I ordered the strawberry mojito which was recommended by the wait staff and it was delicious. We shared the brussels for an app then I got the crispy wings and my husband had the hot chicken sandwich. Such good food, cannot underscore that you have to try this place!

Icing wasn't super sugary sweet but on the sweeter side. Benedict was very good. It came with one sausage and one chicken tender sized piece of chicken. The English muffin was giant, sausage was good the chicken was nothing special but the gravy was excellent! Eggs were perfectly poached. The prime rib skillet was solid. The prime rib was tender and veggies were fresh and slightly crisp. Eggs were ordered over hard but were over easy which admittedly is a specific order for eggs so not a huge deal. The hash browns were typical and nothing special. We both had the house coffee and it was a I would say a better than average "all you can drink " type diner coffee. Mild breakfast brew with low acid and smooth. Which for diner coffee definitely makes it an A in my opinion. Service was good, food came out promptly. Would recommend and plan to come back.

I have never had a better cinnamon roll than what I had in Kozy Nuk. Service was great, very kind servers and the food came by really quickly. You pay at the counter after you're finished eating. Very cozy breakfast spot. Lots of seating, and you can feel how authentic the restaurant is. A hidden gem for sure!

I've ordered the same thing both times because I loved it so much- the Three Grain & Tempeh Bowl. It's so fresh and delicious, filling without making you feel over-full and gross. She had the Mushroom & Gouda Omelette and also very much enjoyed. The seating space is small so you can definitely run into a wait during busy times, but service moves fast! You'll order at the counter and be handed a number to take to your table, where the food will be delivered. During busy times I've seen them try to help coordinate seating arrangements but it is otherwise largely a seat yourself sort of place. Next on my list are the lemon ricotta pancakes which are reportedly famous and a turmeric cookie I spotted in the bakery section :)

I may have thought bad things about Madison prematurely. I mean, here for an event but who really…read moretravels to Madison? But here we were in downtown in a beautiful day with a gorgeous lake-side path and finding ourselves enjoying it. Stopped here for breakfast, shocked in our research how many vegetarian options were available for my wife. Here you could get tofu eggs and tempeh added to your dishes. I got their chilaquiles and gluten free lemon poppyseed pancakes (they had GF toast but their only savory option was this or a coconut thing). The entree was delicious, not too spicy unless you bite into too many jalapeños, and the shredded chicken was great. Could have used a second egg but I'm a big boy so maybe it's just me. I was also surprised by how much I liked the pancakes. It was a gamble as I don't like things too lemony and while you could definitely taste the lemon, it was still very good. And the pancakes, for being gluten free, were fluffy and soft and great. Had a regular coffee and while it was strong, it was just coffee. It gets very busy at peak meal times to plan accordingly. We'll probably be back before this trip is done.
