Food came quickly and was decently priced. The homemade salsa was amazing. I didn't really taste much sauce on my chicken Parmesan wrap, so I wished there was more of that. Wednesday all you can eat chicken wings. (Now also for a time on Thursday). First eight includes French fries and one sauce. Mine ordered plain with garlic Parmesan sauce. Came crispy outside with moist inside. Other order was with chipotle BBQ, again was cooked perfect and flavorful. Grandson asked about the "Double Dare" and owner brought out a drummy with the sauce. Not for the faint of heart as it is "smoking hot". Owner brought out a glass of chocolate milk. Sauces are all home made and very good. Oh, and a bar that has PBR on tap! My kind of bar. read more

Was on a business trip and searched for places in or near Marshall WI and this place had a good rating. The website shows a Saturday prime rib special so we decided to stop. We ordered some cocktails and waited a long time to get our drinks. The place was pretty busy and they were severely understaffed with only one waitress and one bartender. The waitress came back with our drinks and started to take our order and I tried to order the prime rib and was told that I needed to have ordered that on Thursday or Friday and they were sold out. We had to go to plan B off their regular menu. My wife was disappointed in the cooking of her burger but I was satisfied with my chicken Caesar wrap. The limited staff was nice and small town friendly. Probably won't return as I noticed that the prime rib looked seriously overcooked. read more

Thanks to the Yelp! community I stumbled on this hidden gem. I was taking some country roads to work and needed to eat. 1st up on the "burger" list for my location was the Barrel Inn. It's off the beaten path's beaten path, but the burger and cheese curds were well worth it! The burger is cooked to order and was well seasoned. The bun and burger tasted great. The cheese melted perfectly on top. A side of homemade cheese curds made it all the better. The curds are lightly battered, fried nuggets of heaven. I may actually return for the cheese curds alone! With a Coke to wash it down, the bill was $13.50. Money well spent in my book! read more

We've had food many times from the Barrel Inn, usually dining in-house. Tonight we got take out for the fish fry and it was delicious. When we picked it up, it was piping hot. I got the beer battered cod and my husband got the blue gill. They were both baked perfectly. The batter so light. Great flavor! We each had baked potato. I normally would get the sweet potato with topping (it's like dessert) but wanted something different. I had the clam chowder soup, it lacked some flavor and only had 2 clams in it. The Cole slaw was too warm after being packaged with the food so we didn't eat it. To be honest many times this is a 3 star restaurant. I gave it 4 stars because to me they have the absolute best tartar sauce for their fish. Call me crazy but I would just love to bottle it all up and bring it home. It's on the sweet side (so if sweet isn't your thing, probably better stick to baked cod and butter!), which I love! YUM! read more

Went to the Barrel Inn for Wednesday night all you can eat chicken wings,nice country bar! I was surprised at the family friendly atmosphere and crowd.There were many choices of wings to choose from. The waitress took our second wing order while we working on our first and let us mix it up. Oh ya she asked us if we wanted a to go box ( for all you can eat ) hey this stuff doesn't happy in inner city Madison!! This is why I like country and small town bar and restaurant's. My best friend had been raving about this bar for years, so I decided to get my buddies togethor and try the all you can eat wing special on Wednesday's. First of all, the establishment is literally in the middle of nowhere, but don't let that deter you from coming. The place was very busy inside around 6pm, and severely understaffed. I'm a big eater, so I chose my wings and sauce along with a reorder right off the bat. The wings were amazing: crispy and hot along with a flavorful dry rub. As the night rolled on, the service really dropped off. I don't blame Barrel Inn's staff because it was a combination of high volume and low staff. Believe it or not, my husband and I eat here mostly for Sunday breakfast! 7:00 to 11:30 AM The food is great and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. They always have a special on the board and we usually sit at the bar to eat. Some Fridays, we have their WI, Friday fish fry. It has always been great. I like the potato pancakes as a side. The restaurant is large and seats many. They have specials everyday! And they host events like: Breakfast with the Easter Bunny for families. Live music is one of their specialties as well. Fried cod was excellent as was baked potato. I had a bloody Mary and it was great with good garnishes. Husband had whiskey old fashioned. Also good. Place has been nicely renovated. $12 for three piece cod dinner, including a cup of soup. Perfect place for Friday night fish fry. Went in for their meatloaf sandwich which is the Wednesday lunch special. Also, ordered the onion rings and a cheeseburger. The onion rings are hand battered and came on hot and crisp. Really some of the best I've ever had. If you like old school comfort food the meatloaf sandwich was to die for. Don't know the cook, but my hat is off.
