We went with a group of 5 for the Friday Night Fish Fry. I'll start by saying it's a solid and serviceable fish fry. We had reservations for 7:45 (the earliest I could get them 2 days ahead of time. This said they were out of baked cod, baked potatoes, and hash browns. Not a shortcoming on their part, I don't think, rather a testament to the restaurant popularity. The seared walleye was decent, perhaps a bit bland. The Yukon potato wedges were serviceable if not a little undercooked and seasoned. The fired perch as quite good, as were the garlic mashed potatoes. Those that had the fired cod were happy with it. The Cheese curds were decent and everyone enjoyed them. The drink menu is robust and features local Wollersheim wines and spirits. I quite fancy a place that features local sundries and ingredients. The standout of the night I think was the pumpkin cheesecake. The apple pie with vanilla ice cream was fine... but that cheesecake was outstanding. The gram cracker crust provided a nice contrast to the smooth cheesecake. The service was really very friendly, and quite efficient given how busy it was. There is outdoor seating as well as this hybrid indoor/outdoor veranda seating which we found quite lovely and much less noisy than the indoor area. I'd go again... with reservations and early enough to get a baked potato or cheesy hash browns :)

Very solid spot for a casual bite. Taplist was lacking in diversity for my taste, lotta pilsners and lagers. I got the bloody because I saw they'd won an award for it, and thought it was just okay. Food was great though, great mash to go with the fried chicken which was excellent. Service was pretty hit and miss, our server disappeared for a good chunk of our visit, but we weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a real issue.

Went after seeing a comedy show at Alliant Energy Center. Food and drinks were great! We sat at the bar and the staff was pretty busy, so it took a bit to get anyone's attention, but it was fine once it was back to a normal level. Staff was nice through it all.

Some of the best mussels I have had in awhile. Definitely recommend them. Wings were ok but nothing great. Cool atmosphere and they had some decent bourbon choices. Staff was friendly.

We used a gift card for off Broadway two months ago and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was!! We ordered 2 deep fried fish dinners with sides and our bill was $35. We ordered for pick up again, and then went and dined in the restaurant. We had the fish fry and it was delicious as usual. Our waiter was wonderful, in fact every employee has a fun personality. We ordered fish again for pick up last night and found it to be a bit pricier at $50. $2 for extra tartar sauce, and the price had gone up to $22 per fish dinner. Rather a large jump in price. Apparently the price of fish has gone up $3 per pound. While they feel the need to raise their prices so high, I unfortunately, ordered the baked cod this time around and it came soaked in....paprika? Tried to scrape it off, not too successful. At least I had a baked potato and a small cup of cole slaw. Felt jipped for $22. Can only hope fish prices return to a reasonable price and we can go back.

1st time here. Cool spot, and nice bar area. Tried to order the mussels and they were out. Also tried to order the carrot cake and they were out of the Nashville chicken sandwich is only offered on Tuesday. Should make that a special and not actually put that on the menu. I ordered the chicken wrap. It was very good and hubby got the fried chicken and potatoes. Very good as well. The service is horrible here. It would make me question going back since that really adds to the experience of the place. Very slow. Never checked back. The food is about the only thing great here. If you're okay with bad service I would say give it a try. I'll pass next time I'm in town.

This is just one of those special places that has a fine diversity with plenty of options that will please most people. The staff is great. The ambiance is like you stepped into a thoughtfully lit dream.

I ordered takeout today from Off Broadway Drafthouse. The parking is very limited here so you'll likely have to find street parking which wasn't a big deal. The interior is nice! They have some outdoor seating it looked like - a covered area and some patio seating but I'm not sure if they serve the patio. The salmon was good - I got a side of garlic aoli dipping sauce since it didn't come with a glaze or anything which I like to have. The sauce was good especially with the fries! Fries could have used some more crisp tho. Overall was a satisfying meal!

They have ample seating both indoors and out. We were seated in joes garden which almost feels as if you're being treated like royalty in this secluded area. I ordered the salmon which had good flavor. Potatoes were creamy but could've used some salt. Overall, I'd come back for a casual dinner or lunch.

Back again for Friday Fish. Loved it the first time and loved it this time. Excellent selection of beer and wine and mix drinks. Around 6 PM and wait was short.

Love the rustic but clean look. Cozy place for a date night or to watch a game. Parking is tight. Food was delicious and drinks were good.

This is my happy place. Not only do they have delicious food, service, beer, and cocktails, but the atmosphere is so lovely with great music, lovely Wisconsin decor, and most importantly pet collective on two of the televisions. They're always set up the same so I know exactly where to sit to enjoy my experience to the fullest. This visit was a solo trip to take a few work phone calls (great wifi) and enjoy some lunch. The new Millions of Peaches drink was delicious, and not just because the name is spectacular. I also had the beet and goat cheese salad as well as the fried portabellas. They were both wonderful and I couldn't believe how much goat cheese was in the salad. Sadly my photos were taken after I had already had a few bites and sips because everything looked so good, but I will continue to recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Food was delicious! We sat at the bar and were greeted promptly. Sirloin steak was a reasonable price with two sides. It actually came cooked to order!!! Tender slices of beef and crispy green beans were a great choice. Fries weren't as flavorful or crispy as I would like, next time I'll opt for another potato or salad option.

Great Dane Pub has become one of my favorite spots in Madison for a variety of reasons from the drinks, vibes, service and community support! Situated on the corner of Doty and King in downtown Madison, Great Dane is a welcome sight for any visitor or local looking for a chill spot to have a solid drink, tasty bite and/or a good time! The pub is one large space, but it is separated into a few unique areas. One side is quintessential pub with a long bar, lots of dark woods, and a good sized dining room. The other is more of a pool hall vibe where you will find the other side of the bar, several pool tables, lots of TV's, high tops, darts, etc...We have bellied up to both sides of the bar and while I like both sides, I prefer the vibe of the pub side. They have a fairly extensive food menu with several bar/pub classics such as wings, nachos and burgers. But they also offer a good variety of sandwiches, bowls, salads, soups and even tacos. While we are normally here for the drinks, we do enjoy the cheese curds, wings and poutine! Speaking of drinks, they always have a great menu of house cocktails that is constantly updated for seasonality. I have had several iterations of cocktails and since I visit a few times a year, I always get to try new seasonal cocktails and beers! Service is always stellar here, no matter what side of the bar you are on. Welcoming, friendly and helpful...every time! Overall, I am an absolute fan of The Great Dane Pub!

The menu is filled with elevated pub food, a few classics and then a few twists on those very classics. Come hinge, because the menu is carb-driven, so be ready to eat! To start, we went with the poutine, because why not! The fries were crispy, gravy was velvety and the curds were firm, yet melty enough for a good cheese pull! For our mains, we both went sandwiches. I went with the Celtic Burger, which is their standard burger with added caramel iced onion, whiskey bacon jam, Irish cheddar and a garlic aioli. The burger was good and cooked well, but it was less impressive than I expected given all the goods they added to it. While the aforementioned additions sound like a flavor bomb, it was still fairly one note in overall flavor. It was still tasty, but again, not as expected. My buddy went with the corned beef sandwich. He enjoyed it, no major issues! I did appreciate that exchanging fries with fried curds was an option, especially after loaded up on fries as a starter. The curds were well fried, pillowy and quite tasty. Perfect side for sure! In addition to the food, they are known for their bar offerings so you know we had to grab a few cocktails! I went with the Golden Dew and my buddy the Old Fashioned. Golden Dew was delightful, however the old fashioned was a bit sweet, but that's possibly the brandy. Service was great. We walked in and hit the wait list, however was able to scoop up a few seats at the bar before our table was ready. The bartenders were friendly, helpful and an overall joy to interact with. The two pieces that came out were enormous and a bit wonky shaped... made me wonder what on earth this fish looked like in its swimming days. The batter was quite tasty, crunchy but not too crunchy/hard, but it was so incredibly think I'm not sure I got fish in every bite. I took one piece home and give the fish part to my pup as a meal topper, and the ratio of breading I had to pull off compared to fish was a bit (quite a bit) much. Still, everything I ate was tasty.
