I've been eyeing this place but haven't wanted to come due to the low 3 star rating. But my sister wanted to come here for her birthday dinner. We arrived at 7:15 and waitstaff quickly worked to get us seated. Drinks and app came quickly. Fast forward to 8:30 and our waitstaff was running around and still hadn't secured our orders, apologizing for the wait, offering 1 free cocktail out of the round of 3. He was extremely apologetic and thankful for our understanding. While it's still a 3 star review, the location is great-- outdoor seating is large and there's an outdoor bar if you just want drinks while playing one of the sand volleyball courts. The indoor atmosphere is a cozy, cabin vibe. There are gaming machines and a pool table tucked in the corner behind the fireplace. There's a second level loft/balcony that overlooks the lake. This spot is stellar and I know a lot of places are experiencing short staffing. I hope they can improve their service and gain a 4-5 star review soon. read more

We knew we wanted to visit this place but saw the reviews on service were not good. Perhaps it helped we biked here during the low season on a beautiful October Sunday afternoon. Despite a crowd inside watching the Packers it was quiet. It was so nice we sat outside despite the pesky yellow jackets. The service was actually excellent. Friendly and fast. We started with a couple old fashions which were a bit weak. For food I ordered the grilled walleye sandwich which was very good. It was nice that it was grilled not fried. My wife got the fish tacos and was impressed. A big plus is the new bike path that connects the Lake Farm County Park to the road on west side of Lake Wabesa makes this easier to access. read more

Beautiful noon lunch on the outside patio. End of season, pier was in. Lots of migratory diving ducks near shore which made it entertaining. My grilled chicken sandwich and coleslaw was perfect as was my wife's walleye sandwich. You must order at the bar here and the food was brought out in a timely fashion. Great lakefront location- it's really beautiful at Christy's. I had the black bean burger, which was pretty good. I'm very thankful the server told me it doesn't actually come with any lettuce or tomatoes or anything- just a sad party on a bun. I would have been disappointed had that showed up. My son got the kids burger. I didn't try it but he didn't eat very much of it. My aunt got one of the chicken salads, which looked great- lots of chicken on a bed of lettuce. Dinner out with my wife on a holiday weekend, we chose Christy's landing because of the lakeside views and outdoor seating (though the day was a little more blustery than we had hoped). It was clear to see that they were understaffed (as our server admitted to us). It took a while for someone to come help us but after we were established, the service was fairly attentive. The menu was a page long and held few surprises, mostly familiar fare like burgers, chicken strips, and cheese curds. We shared onion rings, which were unremarkable. The Boss Hog burger that I ordered was surprisingly hefty, laden with ham, bacon, cheese, onion rings, jalapeños, and bbq sauce. A good burger, but again fairly ordinary outside of how loaded-up it was. My wife's black bean burger was a let-down, looked like a grocery store burger slightly over cooked and put on a bun with no toppings. Overall, if you're looking for a chill vibe by the water and don't necessarily care about the food, you could definitely have a good experience. If you are looking for an above-average meal without loud country music blasting at you, look elsewhere. read more

The food was so good! My parents and I went out for an early dinner on a Saturday night. We were given a table quickly and food service was a lot better than my first time here. The uniqueness of their space still amazes me! Such a beautiful view and lots to look at inside as well. The waitress this time could have checked on us more though. My Mom ran out of water and shared mine. Both my Dad and I would have ordered another beer, and hence adding to the tab. All in all, still a good experience. Right on Lake Waubesa which is awesome. Easy to dock your boat. Nice outside area. And the nachos are amazing. That said WORST SERVICE EVER. We sat inside and literally 4 servers walked right by us saying nothing. Finally flagged someone down who was annoyed to have to take our orders. Ordered a double Captain diet. Tasted like just cola. Next time we were there also zero service. Didn't even bother to flag some annoyed waitress down, we just left. We'll probably be back because of the boat and the nachos but won't order a cocktail and know the service will be crap. read more

Great atmosphere and their Nashville hot chicken sandwich is to die for. And their nachos. And it's on a lake. What more could you ask for?

I've been here a few times. The cheese curds and fries are nice. Onion rings ok. Wings my kids love but I think they are too smothered in sauce. Each time I've been here It was by boat so we've sat out side. I would have rated it a 3 or 4 except each and every table has an ash tray which is gross and they allow smoking in the entire area. My kids 6 and 11 were with us and one has asthma so we had to move to get out of the smoke. Very inconsiderate allowing smoking, only 3 out of maybe 40 people were smoking so maybe inconvenience 3 people and not everyone else. Going forward Ill probably just get takeout. read more

Multiple different servers passed by us, they definitely had enough staff. We just kept getting told someone would be right with us, but that never happened. We used to love this place. Great volleyball courts! The sand is soft but at night, some of the lights will shine right in your face and obstruct your view while you're playing. There is a hose and area to rinse off afterwards, by the dock facing the beautiful, glistening Lake Waubesa. A cherry bomb will run you $7 and a Vodka 7 will run you about $5 or so. Be careful when you order the pizza, you start with either a 12" ($8.99) or 16" ($10.99) cheese and each topping is $1.50! My friends and I weren't aware of that and got a little carried away when we got our tab for all the drinks, pizza and wings was just under $100! On Monday nights they have a AYCE taco bar with ground beed and chicken, as well as assorted toppings. The pico de gallo was very fresh, the shredded romaine was crisp, and the salsa had a nice bite to it. Every time you were ready for more, just ask the nice bartender to give you more shells (corn hard shell or soft flour tortillas). read more

Not a huge menu, but I think more restaurants need to pare down their menus and do a few things well rather than offer a lot of mediocre stuff. Finally checked this place out after hearing about it for literal years. The food was good bar food. The service was very friendly, but definitely on the slow side (it wasn't incredibly busy & there were plenty of staff members standing around). The location is fantastic, even if you don't have a boat. The biggest turnoff, and reason for only 3 stars, were the disgusting ashtrays at every table. I would 100% understand smoking at the outdoor bar, but it's simply gross & unnecessary at the dining tables. read more

Drove out on the bikes on a gorgeous Sunday. It wasn't overly crowded. Overlooks the lake and many people dock their boats and enjoy the patio and food. Lots of people taking food back out onto their boats. Upon arriving, there is no sign telling you to sit down or see the hostess for a seat. We walked around and into the bar and then we finally were told by the bartender that we can sit where we want. The menus at the table were all different. Three different menus, one omitted the burger and the other one didn't have the "baskets" on it. Weird!! The waitress knew that something was wrong with the soda guns and brought us 2 pitchers of essentially colored water. When we finally mentioned it, she acknowledged that they were having problems with it. After a while she brought us another one and said she hoped it was better. It finally was. The orange and lemon peels thrown on the grass, could be cleaned up as well. Overall, the food was good. Burger was juicy and flavorful and he bacon wrapped shrimp was really yummy. The pizza at the table next to us looked delish and may be ordered if we return. The place has some potential but a little makeover would be great!!! read more

Worst service! Perfect set up to be a great place to grab a bite or drink on a beautiful day. Except the service is lacking. No friendly hellos. No one to say the would be right with us. I'm very surprised to read all the negative reviews. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we sat at the bar by Tim the bartender. He was unfailingly polite and friendly, as were the people who sat near us. It made me wish we had more time to hang out and soak up the lovely waterfront location. Starving, we ordered a pizza and both enjoyed enjoyed the hell out of it. The toppings tasted very fresh and the crust had a slight flakiness to it. The only drawbacks I can think of are the plastic cups the beer is served in and that I'd love it if another taphandle were devoted to something a bit more local to Madison, like Ale Asylum, Karben4, or even Tyranena (from Lake Mills). As we left Tim thanked us for stopping in and asked us to come back the next time we were nearby. I 100% plan to do so. read more

When arriving shortly after 6pm we were told the kitchen was 2 hours behind and not accepting orders. . . They had empty tables inside and out, plenty of parking, 3 boats on their dock. Strange. When we finally got the attention of a waitress, she told us she was only able to place appetizer orders, no menu items, no fish fry per the kitchen. WTF? By 8:30pm we received some appetizers. If there was a no star option I'd give it to them. First it took 20 minutes for a waitress to even come up to us. After ordering drink 20 mins goes by and I had to go to the bar and get them myself. Our food took over 30 minutes and only got half of it. Our nachos finally came out and were burnt and had cold pieces of chicken through out and we ordered beef nachos. The second beer we ordered took 26 minutes to get. We ended up being there for almost 2.5 hours for a simple lunch and beer. Awesome food, worst service I've experienced in Madison. At the 1 hour mark, I went searching for waters for our table because it was 87 degrees outside in the sun and all we had was ketchup. At the 1.5 hour mark, I went inside to see about getting some calories for my crying young children who never received their milk and sodas. At the 2 hour mark, our food started appearing one plate at a time, but only after I went back inside to ask if we could cancel our order. We had the bill and were already standing up to leave before the last plate appeared at the 2 hour and 45 minute mark, which was, of all things, the appetizer we ordered first. Additionally, they were out of our first and second choices. Since I waited on myself, the management should have tipped me. Very disappointed, mad at myself for trying to stick it out with the kids having to eat dinner past bedtime, certainly will not return. read more
