    Beyond Sausage Plate

Came in on a Sunday night for a friend's birthday party and there was plenty of space for our 13+ group. They have some very long tables. The vibe is good, feels like a fun place to watch sports if you're into that. Despite our giant group, service was very quick and everyone got their food at about the same time. The server was pretty helpful and attentive. I was so happy to see that they had a vegan beyond sausage option. It was really filling and you get so many pickles with the sausage plate. The only thing that would make it 5 stars was if they added another vegan option.

We came here for some beers and appetizers, but their dinner food looked tasty as well! I didn't have a beer, but my friend said it was good and the prices aren't bad. The appetizers were pretty good, I wouldn't say they were anything special but they sufficed for sure. I like the variety of mustards they provide on the table, and the sauce that came with the cheese curds was delicious as well. It's a fun hang out spot with decent service and a cute vibe, with lots of long bench tables.

Great place! Fun food, beautiful historic building, and the service was very warm. The Thuringer brat was an overall favorite and the cheesy spaetzle.

Love this place! A legit german beer garden / restaurant. The pretzel is a must do. Delicious! Corned beef sandwich was prepared fresh with kraut. HB on tap! I enjoyed the bar service from a nice lady. The location is a former Lutheran church, which apparently moved to a new location 40 years ago, so hasn't been a church for a long time. Typically I don't like to eat at former churches but this works. I like the ambiance in this situation. Love Madison WI

Wurst board for 2 and 1/2 a pretzel

Fun place to grab a pint, ginormous hot pretzels (with great beer cheese sauce). We always get the Wurst board and split a chicken schnitzel plate. They used to have a chicken schnitzel appetizer, but that seems to be gone off the menu. It's a pretty loud place (it's a beer hall after all), but there is some outdoor seating right out front. Service is great- serving staff is very attentive.

On the way back to my hotel after driving through downtown Madison, I saw a logo I hadn't seen since I was in Germany, years ago. It was then decided that Prost would be my first stop for a night out on the town. Upon entering, I was met by great decor, awesome staff, and great beer (of course). I had the 3 Sheeps IPA (had to support a local brewery), and the Gentry's Rosé. Both were great, but I was pleasantly surprised how smooth the IPA was. With great drinks and more than enough space to hangout with friends or have an event, make sure Prost is on your list of places to stop in Madison!

First off, amazing cheese curds! I was in town visiting and used yelp to find cheese curds and this place came up. I am glad I took a chance and came here as they were delicious! They had a really nice happy hour on Monday with great beer and service was fast. I love the fact this is in an old church building, how unique!

The food is awesome, I love cheese curds and these are some of the best. The service was fantastic, Patrick was the best. He was funny, attentive but not overbearing, checked in, and told us about the building. This is in an old church and they did a great job integrating the restaurant with the building. It was a relaxing atmosphere and the food was just great. Already planning on coming back.

The bartender assured us that their vegan options were incredible. MadisonTap features many local Wisconsin beers on tap. They seem to often rotate the beers and keep a solid selection. MadisonTap was spacious with bar seats, tables, and booths available. The design and decor were well thought out. The crowd seems to be young professionals in their mid-20s to early 30s. I don't recall the beers I got here but I do remember prices being ~$7-10 range mark. The bartender and owner place special emphasis on being vegetarian and vegan friendly. Even one of the cocktails used vegan butter. There was a single bartender when I visited but it was a bit slow. We had a great conversation and watched Christmas movies on the projectors. Overall, solid experience. 5/5. Favorited in Madison, WI.

The menu is filled with elevated pub food, a few classics and then a few twists on those very classics. Come hinge, because the menu is carb-driven, so be ready to eat! To start, we went with the poutine, because why not! The fries were crispy, gravy was velvety and the curds were firm, yet melty enough for a good cheese pull! For our mains, we both went sandwiches. I went with the Celtic Burger, which is their standard burger with added caramel iced onion, whiskey bacon jam, Irish cheddar and a garlic aioli. The burger was good and cooked well, but it was less impressive than I expected given all the goods they added to it. While the aforementioned additions sound like a flavor bomb, it was still fairly one note in overall flavor. It was still tasty, but again, not as expected. My buddy went with the corned beef sandwich. He enjoyed it, no major issues! I did appreciate that exchanging fries with fried curds was an option, especially after loaded up on fries as a starter. The curds were well fried, pillowy and quite tasty. Perfect side for sure! In addition to the food, they are known for their bar offerings so you know we had to grab a few cocktails! I went with the Golden Dew and my buddy the Old Fashioned. Golden Dew was delightful, however the old fashioned was a bit sweet, but that's possibly the brandy. Service was great. We walked in and hit the wait list, however was able to scoop up a few seats at the bar before our table was ready. The bartenders were friendly, helpful and an overall joy to interact with. Overall, definitely a fan of The Coopers Tavern! When back in Madison, I would certainly swing by again!

It happened to be near the theatre we went to, so we decided to stop in and check it out. They have nearly 775 different types of whiskey to choose from, which is wild! I loved that they offer different ounce sizes so you can sample a few, and they even pair it with water so you stay hydrated while tasting (smart touch). Price ranges between ~$7.50-$20.00+. The place had a cozy, lounge-like vibe and was pretty busy, but the staff was friendly and helpful. It's first come first served for seating, just like any bar. We sampled a few whiskeys and also tried their premade espresso martini. The whiskey selection was phenomenal, the espresso martini was decent, not the best I've had (it was premade), but still enjoyable (it's made with Tito's, which isn't my favorite base, but I appreciate the fresh coffee beans they used). All in all, this place is a hidden gem. Great whiskey, friendly staff, and the perfect cozy spot to escape the rain for a while. I'll definitely be back next time to try even more from their list!
