Wow, I had no idea this place existed until a friend mentioned it. Madison is such a great place…read morefor a rooftop experience given that our buildings are generally lower than the Capitol and it is a lovely focal point. Alas, we have so few, and I'm so excited this concept opened! I came on a fall/winter evening, but definitely would love to come back in sunny outdoor weather. On the top floor of the Moxy hotel, Atico serves up a really lovely array of Mexican and Mexican-themed foods. They've got some really elevated entree options, but also have a host of street tacos. While their menu is a bit pricey (some were actually outrageous), the happy hour specials they had listed on the table were a great deal -- definitely would love to come back here for happy hour. I ordered 2 al pastor street tacos and a carne asada street taco. They're nicely sized and are decently full with meat. Onion and cilantro tops them off just like a street taco should be. I thought they were pretty tasty. I didn't love that the pineapple in the al pastor was chopped on top and was served cold (the pineapple, not the meat), but I still ate every ounce of both my tacos, so take my complaint with a grain of salt. My margarita was also good, I appreciated that they were willing to make it "up" instead of "on the rocks." Our server was very accommodating and able to answer questions. Overall, I don't know that the food is worth the price, but it would definitely be worth it on a rare occasion to enjoy the rooftop ambiance. The happy hour also solves for this conundrum. So, I'd certainly like to be back to Atico.

I haven't had any of their food but the drinks are always great here. They have an extensive menu. The space inside is beautiful and I love the bright fun colors! I would love to try their food before a show at the Sylvee or Breese Stevens as it's located in a prime spot on east wash.

It happened to be near the theatre we went to, so we decided to stop in and check it out. They have nearly 775 different types of whiskey to choose from, which is wild! I loved that they offer different ounce sizes so you can sample a few, and they even pair it with water so you stay hydrated while tasting (smart touch). Price ranges between ~$7.50-$20.00+. The place had a cozy, lounge-like vibe and was pretty busy, but the staff was friendly and helpful. It's first come first served for seating, just like any bar. We sampled a few whiskeys and also tried their premade espresso martini. The whiskey selection was phenomenal, the espresso martini was decent, not the best I've had (it was premade), but still enjoyable (it's made with Tito's, which isn't my favorite base, but I appreciate the fresh coffee beans they used). All in all, this place is a hidden gem. Great whiskey, friendly staff, and the perfect cozy spot to escape the rain for a while. I'll definitely be back next time to try even more from their list!

I was absolutely stunned when I walked into this restaurant and saw all of their holiday decorations. It was beautiful! We had to wait about 15 minutes for our table, then headed up the stairs to be seated at a half circle booth for eight people. It was very tight, so we asked for a chair to be placed on the end which definitely made the seating arrangement better. However, the one spot on the end seemed as if the cushion part was missing from where people had been sitting, so that was not comfortable, and it should be replaced. The service was outstanding and I'm sorry I forgot to note our server's name. I ordered the chips and salsa, which was delicious. I had to question whether the salsa was indeed vegan since it seemed creamy. Thankfully it was vegan! For the entrée, I ordered a vegan mozzarella cheese pizza with mushrooms and spinach. It did not disappoint! The crust was amazing; I appreciate that it wasn't too salty. The tomato sauce was incredible. Everybody had a great time and Lucille's was the absolutely perfect place for this special occasion.

I'll tell you im 57 years old and this by far is the WORST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD. Earlier in the day you will see an older generation, sipping drinks relaxing. This is the best time to head for a drink. You don't have to push your way to the bar and you can actually grab a spot to sit on one of the many couches. As the night goes on the atmosphere changes, the younger college generation comes in. Depending on your age and what you are looking for this might not be the spot for you. The bar is jam packed, seats are typically all taken. Its loud (not necessarily from music) from people trying to talk over one another. The biggest down fall is trying to get to the bathroom. The space is long but narrow and there really isn't much room to move from the front to the back where the restrooms are located.

My husband and I had a terrible experience today when trying to enter Paul's Club…read more We had our passports with us, as well as our translated marriage certificate. I am 19 years old, and my husband is over 21. As soon as we presented our passports, the security guard at the door refused us entry and would not even look at our marriage certificate, which showed that my husband would be responsible for me here in the U.S. In addition to that, he was extremely rude and disrespectful. He raised his voice at both of us while forcing us away from the entrance, used his body to block us (even though we were not trying to force our way in--we only wanted him to review our documents), pointed aggressively at a sign stating that alcohol consumption under 21 is prohibited, and told us to "get out." The issue is that I am visibly pregnant--38 weeks--and I do not consume alcohol. We were only there to celebrate a friend's birthday. Shortly after, our friend tried to speak with him and explain the situation, but once again he showed complete indifference, simply stating that he was "doing his job." My husband and I would not have had an issue if the bar had a strict policy of not allowing me to enter, even accompanied by my husband. However, the level of rudeness and lack of professionalism we experienced was completely unacceptable. He did not seem qualified to be in a security position, as he refused to review documentation and treated people in a disrespectful manner, regardless of whether they were customers or potential patrons. After reading other reviews, I noticed that poor service appears to be a common issue at this establishment, which is disappointing, as the venue itself seems comfortable and appealing. However, after today's experience, I have no interest in trying to visit again or recommending it to friends. I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider hiring staff who know how to perform their roles with professionalism and respect. Situations like this are embarrassing and ultimately damage the reputation of your business.

The bartender assured us that their vegan options were incredible. MadisonTap features many local Wisconsin beers on tap. They seem to often rotate the beers and keep a solid selection. MadisonTap was spacious with bar seats, tables, and booths available. The design and decor were well thought out. The crowd seems to be young professionals in their mid-20s to early 30s. I don't recall the beers I got here but I do remember prices being ~$7-10 range mark. The bartender and owner place special emphasis on being vegetarian and vegan friendly. Even one of the cocktails used vegan butter. There was a single bartender when I visited but it was a bit slow. We had a great conversation and watched Christmas movies on the projectors.
