    Ants in my coffee

My boyfriend picked us up coffee on 4/6/24- after taking a sip I realized there were aunts in my coffee. Further investigating there were over 10aunts in one cup of coffee. I proceeded to call the store to let them know they have this issue and need to take a further action due to serving customers coffee containing aunts. The sales associate immediately said "oh yeah. We've been having an aunt issue this week" and offered to have me come back to pick up another cup. I would not recommend anyone going to this location. The people are very nice, however seems to not be concerned in the slightest they ARE SERVING AUNTS IN COFFEES.

This is my new favorite place to take my friends to in Oconomowoc. The pastries are very delicious. Not super sweet and sugary like typical American pastries are. They are flaky and have a perfect balance of flavors, in my opinion. The coffee is great, they have the best decaf espresso in oconomowoc. The shop itself is small with only three small tops and one 5 person table and it's a little tight inside. But they also have a few tables outside that you can sit at in the warmer months as well. This is definitely a place to stop in if you are visiting for a weekend and want a memorable, unique and tasty breakfast.

Cherry tart - Apple tart - maple

We went back again last week to try their new location. First it was very hard to find. Neither their website or social media has what was the correct address. Actually their Instagram had no address no website or no phone. Who doesn't have that? Walking in it looks chic ok catering to a certain summer crowd I see. Looking over the case I picked several all different kinds for book club friends. The lady at the counter seemed nice but not friendly. She disappeared after the order. What I don't understand is why they don't have boxes to put larger orders in. Instead they put them all in smaller bags then packed them on top of each other. I had picked tarts that were on the bottom with the fruit covering the bag. And back to the tarts the filling looked and tasted like canned pie filling and the dough was so cooked it was dry and crumbled when you touched it making it a mess. For the price you are paying over $6 it better be hand made rather than looking like it was purchased at Costco. There was one fruit vanilla thing that had crumbled outside but raw inside. So I don't see an improvement at all and one was over $7. Yeah no! This is so not worth any price. Very upsetting that I paid over $40. If you want to waste money go for it. Pictures tell the story

    Chocolate brioche

I tried the chocolate croissant, prosciutto and mozzarella croissant and the chocolate brioche. Delicious! I suppose for the US this isn't terribly overpriced, but compared to similar pastries in Europe this place is quite expensive. Certainly wouldn't be somewhere to stop daily, but great for a treat once in a while!

They've got couches and comfy chairs, as well as regular tables and chairs for a more traditional dining experience. We dug the atmosphere and overall local vibe of the place. They're coffees and things that go in the coffees (milks and honey) are locally sourced, so a good amount of thought goes into what goes into what they're serving you. We'd definitely go again!

Inside, there are numerous seating areas for different-sized groups, spread across several "rooms" that give you a sense of privacy. Large front windows let in plenty of natural light, making the space feel open and bright. We arrived right around noon, just as the lunch crowd was filling in. There was a short line that moved quickly. Service was friendly and helpful while we placed our order. We decided on the Brie Salad and the Avocado Toast, along with a Lemonade and a London Fog Tea Latte. I gave them my special instructions for the latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla, extra foam, in a mug), and they were happy to make it exactly as requested. Orders come with a number, and the staff delivers your food right to your table. The wait was short before our food arrived, and the entire meal was excellent. My Avocado Toast was a treat -- layered with toast, cream cheese (yes, cream cheese!), avocado, and feta on top. It was so good as is, but next time I'll ask if they can add a poached egg on top -- that would make it even more amazing. A great first-time experience here. I'd definitely come back for breakfast (or maybe try another lunch).

Lots of room inside: seating in the front on the lower level, more seating up a short set of stairs (where they have board games like chess and checkers), and another room in the back that can be reserved for groups (not sure if there's a cost). We arrived a little after noon. There were a few other people there. We waited a little while to place our order. The cashier/barista apologized several times as they were preparing other people's orders. Once it was our turn, we got a warm greeting and plenty of help with our menu questions. Lots of nice choices for beverages and sandwiches. We ended up with a couple of chai drinks (one hot, one cold), a grilled cheese sandwich, and a chicken salad croissant. Then we waited... and waited... and waited some more. It took quite a while to get the drinks and the croissant sandwich. Then it took another long while to get the grilled cheese. At one point I asked if they were still working on it (it had been so long that I thought they might have forgotten). They apologized again and explained that the griddle they were using (a panini press) just takes forever. We weren't in a hurry, but I noticed some other customers who were visibly upset. The Chai Latte was excellent, as was the Harvest Chai (an ice cream drink). The Chicken Salad Croissant was also very good -- fresh, with a good amount of chicken and not too much mayonnaise. Nice, crispy textures. The Grilled Cheese was good, but the bread wasn't very "grilled" (maybe a limitation of the panini press?). We didn't get dessert, but they offered a few small samples of the Chocolate Shoppe ice cream -- very tasty. Lots to like about this place, but the wait times were way too long. :(

It's an interesting place, but hard to put into a specific category. It offers hot beverages, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, oatmeal, etc. -- and then they also have ice cream. When I walked in, I was a bit unsure about the layout and seating. In the first area, there are a couple of tables. There are lots of things going on in this space, and it feels a bit cramped and chaotic. The order counter is here, along with a small kitchen. Beyond this space, you'll find a much larger seating area with tables for different-sized groups. I'm not a design expert, but this area also felt a bit chaotic. I didn't sense any overarching design. For me, it didn't have the relaxing, chill vibe I look for in a coffee shop or café. Got a super friendly greeting and service. Ordered a couple of tea lattes -- one Chai, and the other a London Fog (little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam). Both were made in mugs, served at the right temperature, with great flavor. Got a couple of the scones, and those were just "okay." They were dry (which a scone should be), but they leaned more muffin-like than shortbread-like. Overall, the visit was a mixed bag -- not bad, but not a place I'm likely to return to.

Yelped a few places that were close to where I was and this one popped up. Super cute little place, I could have purchased way too much. They have lots of fresh coffee, beans and espresso beans and honey and all sorts of goodies, so I check out the menu and immediately focus in on the Montecristo. I haven't had one in quite a while so I thought you know what, why not, I'll take the Montecristo and I'll also try a piece of coffee cake sitting in the display case amongst lots of goodies and a large dirty chai tea. Dirty Chai came with 4 shots of espresso, which is exactly what I needed. It came relatively fast along with a warm coffee cake. Chai tea wasn't your classic chai with cardamom and all the other spices and herbs in it but it was pretty good. It was strong and hot, it was cold out and it hit the spot. Coffee cake was absolutely amazing, super moist and buttery cinnamon crumb was nice and thick, this was on point and I loved it. Sandwich took a bit of time, actually thought they forgot about it. But it finally made its way to my table. OK . . . so I have never seen a Monte Cristo sandwich prepared like this one, I'm use to it having Mayo, Dijon Mustard, red current or raspberry jam and dusted with powdered sugar. As you can see from the photo, it wasn't "dolled up" nor pretty and it was served with a side of maple syrup. I have to admit, I was taken aback, but put a lil maple syrup on top and sliced into it, huh ok well that's not bad, a lil different, but very tasty. Instead of Mayo/Mustard I think it was Cream Cheese? Bread was a lightly dipped French Toast this is where the Maple Syrup came into play. I had a few bites, but took it to go. Came back at it the next day after heating it up in the microwave, again just a drizzle of maple syrup and finally decided, wow this is actually pretty darn good. My ONLY suggestion, the inside needed to be hotter so the cheese would be melted and gooey however, I understand that probably would be harder to achieve with the cream cheese. Overall pleasantly surprised, nice job.
