friends Brewhouse is a great find. Me u is similar to Pete's which used to be at this location. Personnel indicate same owner as Pete's but changed things up. Nice restaurant dining room plus pub tables. Greeted as soon as I walked in the door and seated. Friendly wait staff "Carson." I ordered the tri tip steak sandwich with garlic fries. Good sized portion, quick service, hot and really good. I will come back and eat here again. Diet Pepsi to drink so presumably Pepsi products. Their ranch dressing is excellent. . Quick, friendly service, Carson checked on me several times. Price comparable to similar prices, everything is spendy these days. Super clean restrooms. Nice dining area, big screen TV's. read more

Great place to enjoy pizza with friends & family. Especially on Mondays as their pizzas are 50% off. Staff is friendly and plenty of parking. I've been coming for a few months now. Was just in again on a Monday night. We had a party of 12 people and it took awhile for our pizzas but I think they're short staffed so bring your patience as the pizza isn't bad at all. My son and I decided to try a new Pizza Place called Friend's Brewery (Formerly Pete's Restaurant) at 2475 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758 Upon arrival, I realized that this was a sports bar with lots of TV's and a huge menu that included appetizers, pizza, salads, burgers, pasta, steak, ribs, clam chowder, lasagna and deserts. The restaurant was very clean, although the carpet was really showing its age in some spots. Our server was OK and took our order for a house salad with thousand on the side, medium combo pizza, and a diet Pepsi. Other customers around me ordered hamburgers and other items which looked very good. The salad was delivered but the dressing had spilled onto the salad (see photo). Overall it was good but it tasted a bit off, like the salad wasn't too fresh and the thousand island dressing tasted different than others I've tried. I didn't like the croutons, as they were really hard to bite into. The other items in the salad (garbanzo beans, black olives), were great. The mixture ratio of the diet Pepsi was perfect and had an excellent taste. Now for the pizza-absolutely perfect. Good quality ingredients, cooked perfectly, excellent standard bread crust (see photo). There are so many sports bars in Elk Grove and I've tried several. Each one has something to attract customers such as their style of pizza. Friend's menu has many selections to choose from and the desserts look amazing. read more

This is hands down the best place in Elk Grove to get lunch. They have a phenomenal lunch deal. It is $11 for a personal 2 topping pizza and a salad. I did add a Coors light. The pizza was very good and cooked with care and love. The salad was good. The ingredients were fresh and the dressing was flavorful. The employees are all great. Our server today was very friendly. First time visiting the Elk Grove location. It's right off of I-5 which was convenient. The inside gives a pizza parlor feel but what I liked is all of the televisions with various sports channels to watch while you eat your food. We were greeted by the staff and were told they had draft beers for $5 which was awesome! We ordered the Hawaiian Spicy chicken sandwich, grilled chicken and avocado club sandwich and fries. The food was good and well prepared. My grilled chicken was a little burnt but it didn't ruin the taste. The service was great too! Our server was super friendly and attentive! We all enjoyed our experience and can't wait to come back to try their other dishes. read more

Service is good . So far I have only tried the chicken wings and Garlic Parmesan fries. I like the Cajun Wings best but my only issue is that they are really small. Their happy hour is over at 5:00 . My thing is that by the time I get there from work it's over . I will go back to try the pizza next time. read more

I'm not one that likes to leave reviews usually but I really had to regarding this place. It's has been a while since I've come here and that last time I came was when it was Pete's original now it's Frends. Cool new name but vibe is so very different and not in a good way. Place didn't smell well and although the staff seemed ok, that personal touch that was evident at Pete's has resolved to nothing at all. As it's great for new business to open or take over an existing one, extremely sad to see how failure to keep up can happen. Restrooms, we're not clean and restroom partition was stuck and not working properly. Haven't tasted the food yet as I'm waiting on my order but I do hope this place improves and lives up to the standard of the old owner of this place. Sure miss it! read more

While in town visiting family went to lunch with them. The restaurant is fairly close to their home and we planned to walk back. We were seated right away and provided with menus. Server was friendly and took care of us. We all order different items, salad and soup, pizza, and sandwiches. They all came out at the same time, everyone was fairly satisfied with their meal. My clam Chowder was just okay, a little watery. Most meals came with salad which was nice and reasonably priced. Ambiance was Sports Bar with TVs on different stations. I was a frequent Pete's pizza customer. Ever since they changed names the food has gone downhill. Menus list items that are either not available or sold out. My wife found a cocktail on the menu, she's a cider girl and they had one available. Not today. The waiter said they've been sold out for a while. Defeated, she found the menu and wanted a little pick me up, she found an interesting cocktail and got a little excited she may actually get something she wanted. I have been going to this place since it opened as Original Pete's. Sadly they have gone downhill. Ordered pizzas to go, opened them when we got home and they only put on half the toppings. Paid for two, got one. Not the first time the new management has failed on orders. Last time for me, though. Plenty of other places make better food and do it accurately. read more

It took an hour to get our food. After 1/2 hour, the waitress said that the "printer" lost our order. it was another 1/2 hour before the food came. Came with reservations for 8 and the staff and waitress was very sweet and the area was clean. Everything else was below standard service, we were waiting for our food for a while as our food didn't come out the same time. The utensils had not been very clean as there was food particles stuck on the utensils. One of us ordered a medium rare burger and the burger was still extremely pink inside. Another one of us ordered an extra chicken pasta and there was so many pieces of hair in the dish. The waitress took it off the bill and gave us a new one which we appreciated. We also ordered a red sauce spaghetti or pasta and it was not appetizing. Our waitress was gone for a while as well during our stay and our food coming out a lot longer than expected as well as the food not tasting even decent was very disappointing. It was my birthday and the waitress gave me an ice cream which was very appreciated and sweet. The amount on our bill was also not accurate as what it was said on the screen, $72 for the bill and showed up as $90+ on our transactions. Called the restaurant on the weekend and they said the owners were going to give me a call it's now Tuesday and no update or call. Very disappointing service and owners didn't seem like they take customers concerns seriously. read more

Great place to dine in. This place reminds me of the traditional restaurant experience. The waiter with the cool mustache "always"deliver exceptional customer service! Yet my recent encounter with takeout service was underwhelming with the cashier. Pastrami sandwich was great, fries were cold, salad was wilted. Despite the new name, Frends has few changes from the original business. Service is still great, Faith and Ryan were amazing as usual, and the food is always as expected, delicious and quick. The brick oven pizza is definitely a plus! The interior is still the same with a variety of tables and tvs around the walls. We've been coming here for a decade and will continue for sure. read more
