Everything was SO flavorful, cooked to perfection, and plated in the most appealing way. With the hearty and filling portions, it's a surprise they didn't have to roll us out of there. Kids eat free on Sundays till 5pm, and the 6 kiddos we had with us had full bellies and lunch for school the next day. I'm not Italian but I have picky taste buds and yowzers! I'm still dreaming about this meal (from 4 days ago). The pasta was so fresh and cooked perfectly. The pizza crust was flavorful and supported the *mountain* of toppings (can I get an amen on that?!). Authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious! SERVICE Nickolas was our server and not only did he go above and beyond to make our dining experience superb, he was friendly, and kind, and despite being busy for dinner service he made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. From the moment we walked into the restaurant to when we left, he truly elevated our dining experience. AMBIANCE There's a beautiful mural painted inside that just transports you to Italy. The decor is so cute and just makes you feel like you're walking into Nonna's house. MISC Tons of parking available in the free lot. LOTS of options for vegetarians, meat eaters, and the pickiest of eaters. We were a huge party, and they accommodated us with no problems. I also love how involved they are in the community -- their willingness to give back to local schools and churches through fundraising is outstanding. They really check every box, y'all! My daughter had her heart set on celebrating her birthday here, so I planned around what I was told and decided to take the chance as a walk-in. When we arrived, we were told they couldn't accommodate a party of 8 at all because they would not move tables together. Are you kidding me? Why would I be told over the phone that we could walk in with a party of 8 if you don't even seat parties larger than 6? Had I been given accurate information from the beginning, I would have made other arrangements for my daughter's birthday instead of showing up and finding out at the last minute that they couldn't accommodate us. This was completely avoidable and incredibly frustrating, especially when it involved a birthday celebration. I've been here twice before. The ambiance is cute, but the food is honestly mid. After this experience, I will never be coming back. Be upfront and honest with your customers. If you cannot accommodate parties larger than 6, SAY THAT when someone specifically calls and asks about a party of 8. Don't tell customers to walk in and waste their time, especially when they're planning a special occasion.

We were staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton nearby, so the location was really convenient. La Porta is tucked right behind the Mercedes dealership, and there was plenty of parking, which is always a nice bonus. Once inside, we were greeted and seated right away. There was even a colorful group apparently headed to an Indian wedding, dressed in beautiful silk finery and enjoying cocktails at the bar. It added a fun splash of color and energy to the evening. My mother-in-law ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese, while my wife and I shared a 12" A16 Napoli pizza with pepperoni and an order of their lasagna. Everything was delicious! The pizza had a thin, nicely crisped crust with fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, basil and plenty of pepperoni. The lasagna arrived bubbling hot in its own dish, covered in beautifully browned melted cheese and surrounded by a rich tomato sauce. My mother-in-law's Bolognese was equally well received. Portions were generous enough that we had a little left over, and you better believe it came with us. It was sooo good, there was no way we were letting it go to waste...! I kept my drink simple with pear flavored Grey Goose vodka and soda, and it was so refreshing! Our server was super sweet, funny and attentive without hovering. She stopped by regularly to refill our waters, check on the table and make sure we had everything we needed. Great service can really make a meal, and she definitely added to the experience. I had a drink here and then our party moved to a table when everyone arrived. My colleague did us the favor and ordered some antipasti dishes for us and made good choices. The carpaccio was great (and I loved the grana padano cheese - one that I can have) and also enjoyed the tartara di tonno - which is seared ahi tuna. Both with copious amounts of arugula (my favorite). Great choices as I love raw anything that's well made. Since it was Tuesday, one of my colleagues ordered the pasta trio which is a special for Tuesdays. No idea if it was any good, but colleague cleaned the plate. My other colleague ordered the risotto (which looked great and I love risotto and can make it myself), large portion size and she had a good portion leftover for another meal. I had the branzino in crosta. The portion size for my dish was ridiculous. Fish was decent, but I have had better (in Italy fresh caught). Rooted veggies were probably my favorite (I'm a rabbit and love veggies) and the grilled polenta was so-so. My colleagues ordered panna cotta al limone and it was excellent. I am used to a denser consistency panna cotta and this one was lighter one but well made. I love limoncello or anything with lemons, so this was just lovely. There is only one kind of tiramisu (more pudding style) I like which is made by North Italia and the one here likely was the traditional tiramisu so I declined to get dessert. Overall, a very good choice for a business dinner. Food was good. I deducted one star because I am not much into chain restaurants and prefer to support mom and pop type places. I deducted another star because the service was so SLOW and while we ordered some sparkling for the table, some of us did not get still water and I recall not having much water to drink and its summer. Also, I think the New Yorker in me just doesnt have much patience, but it does seem the cadence here was a different speed I am used to. I'd definitely return to have a few cocktails at the bar, and come back for their HH specials too.
