I made a reservation for 5:30pm on a Tuesday and it was surprisingly busy. Reservations required paying a deposit of $10/person using a credit card over the phone. My wife and I ordered the Favorita, Fettuccine Pesto Fresco, and Pizza Rustica. When ordering the Favorita my wife asked if the goat cheese was pasteurized and the waiter said he didn't know. Unpasteurized cheese is unsafe to consume for immunocompromised individuals and it was very important to confirm if the cheese was pasteurized. Unfortunately, the waiter did not offer to find out if the cheese was pasteurized so my wife requested it on the side and was unable to consume it. Complimentary focaccia bread was served with olive oil that contained Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese. The focaccia bread was the perfect consistency as it was not too soft or dense. The salad was served timely, however the pasta and pizza took a whopping 50 minutes to be served! No cheese or chili flakes were offered for the pizza. After the food was served the waiter did not check on us and we had to flag him down to get more water, parmesan cheese, and chili flakes for the pizza. The Favorita was an arugula salad that contained asparagus, yellow beets, and thin sliced radish. It was served with a large parmesan crostini which complimented the salad well and was a scrumptious addition. The Pizza Rustica contained artichoke hearts, spinach, tomatoes and cheese. The toppings were lacking as there were few small artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and a bare sprits of spinach. When I eat pizza I expect toppings in every bite, however there were only a few toppings per slice which was an extreme disappointment. The Fettuccine Pesto Fresco did not have a strong basil taste as I would expect from pesto. The fettuccine also tasted overcooked as the noodles were too soft. When I called to make a reservation I noted we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and was told that something special would be done in celebration. Since no one wished us a happy anniversary or made any mention of it my wife asked one of the servers if they do anything for anniversaries. They ended up providing a gelato with a sparkler in the center and took our picture. The strawberry gelato was tasty and the sparkler provided a neat affect. I'm torn between a three and four, 3.5 would be most appropriate. Inattentive service throughout the entirety of the meal, but apologetic. It took an hour to get the food. Ordered the following: Favorita Salad, Pesto Fresco, and Pizza Rustica. Maybe if I was drinking it would've made the food taste better? Everything was just average to me. I've had better of each of the types of dishes (salad, pasta, pizza). I think I enjoyed the complimentary bread more than anything else during the meal. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Dining indoors was somewhat noisy, perhaps just due to the boisterous customers at the time; you'd have to project quite a bit to talk to the person next to you when I dined. My husband had said we were celebrating our anniversary upon making a reservation in advanced, but they weren't going to do anything for it. I ended up asking about it since someone on Yelp had noted they did something to celebrate the occasion. They told us they'd bring out a gelato with a sparkler, which is what they provide for birthdays. (I saw three others come out during my meal, so they get a lot of birthday celebrations here.) They also take a souvenir instax pic to mark the occasion, which is a nice touch. I'm glad I asked because the gelato somewhat made up for the lack of happiness with the items ordered. Here are some stand out things our server Armand did: Offered a bag hook for my purse. Recommended drink based on my preference. Checked on me and how I enjoyed my dish since I didn't finish my shrimp. Not only was the Hospitality wonderful but the food was top tier. I recommend the Vodka Penne! I've been to this location in Midtown twice now and I've had a great experience both times! The first time we went, I got the macaroni and cheese and my friend got a nice soup. We got to sit outside and really enjoyed the ambiance of being outside. I got the Hipster cocktail and it was really yummy. I would definitely drink that again. The super cool thing is they give you the rest of your drink in a shaker so it feels like having 2-3 drinks. The second time we went, my friend and I each got a delicious pasta dish. I got the fettuccine pesto fresco and my friend got the penne vodka. The fettuccine was so good. I loved the pesto sauce. My friend also really enjoyed her penne. The restaurant has really cool photos of both famous and non‑famous people on the walls, plus a small bar near the entrance where you can grab a drink or some food. We started with the B&B (Brussels and Bacon) and the Cajun Spicy Fries. The Brussels sprouts were well done with great flavor from the drizzle. The Cajun fries were cooked nicely and paired well with the aioli. For our mains, we ordered the shrimp linguine and the Forestale Pizza. The shrimp linguine had a light, tasty sauce, though I wish the shrimp came without the tails. The Forestale Pizza was excellent--traditional Neapolitan style, with caramelized onions adding a nice sweetness that balanced the savory goat cheese. Really good pizza. We finished with the Gelato Sandwich. We were hoping for a bit more from this one; the cookies were extremely sweet, though the gelato itself was tasty. I'd probably skip this dessert next time. The inside is so cute and they also offer covered outdoor seating, which would be amazing with good weather. They had a good variety of drinks, I went with the house Bellini which didn't disappoint. Finally stopped in for a post birthday celebration. I love the calamari fritti that was battered to achieve the perfect crispiness. It paired nicely with the duo of lemon caper sauce. I did not care for the marinara sauce as it was overly sour tasting. The pappardelle di mare was my favorite dish. I love the ribbon pasta with shrimp, calamari, and clams in a sherry shallot cream sauce. Will definitely order this on my next visit. The gamberi alla diavola was just okay. My book club and I had dinner at Pazza Notte, and it was such a great experience. Our reservation was at 5, but I arrived early to spend some time reading on the patio. The inside is beautifully decorated with lots of natural light, it was really tempting to sit there, but the weather was too nice to pass up, so I stayed outside. The patio was just as charming, with plenty of shade and a relaxed vibe. The music was perfect; not too loud, but just enough to enjoy and even sing along to while still being able to hold a conversation. There were three of us, and we started with the calamari, which was perfectly crispy and delicious. We also shared a pizza and Brussels sprouts. The pizza was good, though I tend to prefer a classic pepperoni, but the Brussels sprouts were a standout; crispy and flavorful. We were also served bread with a really tasty dipping oil, which was a nice touch. At the end of the meal, we were given a complimentary vodka drink that was on the sweeter side but still had a strong kick. Between the three of us, my friends also ordered a few additional drinks. We left feeling completely full, with enough leftover pizza for each of us to take some home. The steak bites were well seasoned with great flavor, though slightly chewy. The ambience was perfect for a nice celebration. We had truffle fries and calamari to start and we also did family style for the entrée dishes. We had three pastas, a seafood pasta, the broccoli, broccolini rabe, sausage pasta, and the penne. I think our favorite was the Pancetta, it was really creamy and smoky. The pizza was the margarita with prosciutto and that was probably our least favorite. It was really thin crust and a little bit too salty for us. There is not much cheese on it or sauce either so I don't think I would get that again. I wouldn't recommend the pastas. Finally got the chance to come with a friend for lunch after strolling around the farmer's market. This restaurant is beautiful inside and out, has bar seating, tables, and a spacious patio underneath lovely midtown trees. Even then, the restaurant was packed! I would definitely recommend getting a reservation if you plan to come later in the evening and/or have a large group with you (it was only two of us). I decided to order the soup of the day, which I believe was a squash/butternut squash soup, Parmesan and truffle fries, and my friend ordered the truffle macaroni and cheese with the "the hipster" cocktail. They also brought complimentary rosemary bread and oil. The bread was soft, the cocktail was great and very decent portion, the soup was perfectly balanced and went great with the toasted bread. The fries were a little cold but tasty and came with garlic aioli and ketchup. My friend said her macaroni and cheese was yummy and she would order again. There were so many people waiting at the front. The ambience is very loud but has intimate lightings. I had to shout in order to talk to my bf but we didn't mind. The food and service were too notched. For appetizers, I always get the calamari and steak skewers. As always, the portions for the calamari is huge for just $16. The steak skewered were so good and went well with the arugula. We got the La Dolce Vita for our drink and there was two servings of it in one order. The drink was good but super strong, but I'm not complaining! I accidentally spilled one of the drink and our waitress bought us another one on the house! I'm extremely disappointed writing this because my first visit here was good. I actually recommended this place to friends and was excited to come back. Unfortunately, my second experience completely changed my opinion. We came to celebrate a very special occasion with close friends, who were expecting their first child and everything started off great. The food and our server were good. However, while we were in the middle of eating dessert, the manager came to our table and told us we needed to "wrap it up" because another party was arriving soon. We had already paid, were not lingering excessively, and there was still plenty of time before closing. It was embarrassing and honestly shocking to be rushed out like that. What made things worse was the conflicting information. Our server later told us there were no incoming reservations, which made the situation even more confusing and uncomfortable. **I followed up with the owner via email privately, hoping for some accountability. Instead, I was told that we had been informed of a 90-minute table limit when we were seated. A flat out LIE. Like the time before, I made a reservation ahead of time, WAS INFORMED of the $10 charge per person for NO SHOWS, but was never told about any time restriction, and would have adjusted our ordering if we had known. Being told after the fact that we "agreed" to something that was never communicated feels dismissive and dishonest. It's incredibly disappointing because this had become one of the places I was hopeful for since Lucca closed down during the pandemic. But being rushed out mid-dessert and then having the experience misrepresented afterward is not acceptable. Sadly, I won't be returning and neither will the friends I brought with me. The Zucchine Fritto was tasty, and something different than appetizers I normally get. After our meal, they surprised me with a gelato topped with a candle and even took a Polaroid photo of us, which they gifted to us right away. Such a thoughtful touch that made the evening extra special! Parking is available on the street and in nearby public lots. I've been waiting for a while to try out Pazza Notte, and finally made dinner reservations with a friend! We caught the tail end of happy hour and were able to squeeze in an order of calamari (perfectly fried!), a martini, and a glass of rose for HH pricing. Score! Service is helpful, perfectly attentive, and so sweet. The only miss for me was their complimentary bread- a bit too dense for my liking. We got a margarita pizza to share, which was perfectly topped with lots of cheese, the Fettuccine Pesto Fresco, which had the perfect amount of pesto and cheese, and the Spaghetti alla Bolognese, lovely depth of flavor in the sauce. Ambiance is lively with indoor and outdoor seating. The bar is popping with fantastic drinks. I'll be back for sure! read more
