The inside had lots of tables and booths, plus a bar area and outdoor seating. I liked being able to see the pizzas cooked in the big wood burning oven as well. We got there a few minutes before happy hour ended so we quickly ordered drinks and an appetizer to start - Sangria, Desert Bloom and the Bruschetta. My friend and I split the Lemon Pistachio Linguine - splitting it was the perfect amount of food. It also came with a huge slice of garlic bread. All of the food was really good - I liked the melted cheese on the Bruschetta and the pasta was perfectly seasoned. Our server was also very friendly, attentive and gave great recommendations - we appreciated her telling us that they could split the pasta in half when we told her we were sharing. We'll be back next time we're in Elk Grove!

We were quickly given water and a basket of bread with whipped butter, which was yum! We ordered bruschetta and calamari for appetizers. I enjoyed the calamari the most. I ordered the seafood risotto and it was sooo yummy! Also lots of seafood in it like scallops, shrimp, mussels and clams. Other dishes ordered at our table were the rigatoni and meatballs, gnocchi, and chicken Parmesan. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and the portions are huge! Palermo doesn't look like much from the outside, but you can feel the love that went into this place on the inside. From being greeted by the Sicilian owner at the front to the super friendly servers and other staff, you just feel so welcome from the start. There is a full cocktail menu and full service bar to star things off, and a few house specials. I got the West Coast Colada, which is a very pineapple-forward, simple rum cocktail without the coconut side of the class drink. It was lovely, if not a little on the weak side alcohol wise. Every dish we ordered was fantastic (shout out to the minestrone soup), but the star of the show was the lasagna. I was wondering why the lasagna was a $45 dish until i saw it delivered to nearby tables and my mouth dropped. This single slice of lasagna could feed 4 people (or more) and consists of a couple DOZEN layers of noodles. It was the best, and biggest lasagnas I've ever had, and I'm still eating it 4 days later! The desserts were also absolutely delicious, with a very creamy take on tiramisu, and a very well-named "temptation" chocolate cake. The cherry on top of dessert was when the owner came and chatted with us about the origins of the lasagna and the restaurant. Just a lovely Italian man with a passion for food that somehow landed him in Elk Grove of all places! We will absolutely be returning. I mean heck, $45 for a week's worth of delicious lasagna ain't a bad deal!

Getting My Pasta-Addiction On!…read more SITREP Thanks to Yelp for directly putting this business on my radar - I will always appreciate that assist! THE SETUP It was LOVE at first sight when I spotted the pre-made Zita casserole in their refrigerator display. I was more than willing to take a chance on that puppy: simply put in the oven and heat up! Easy-peasy, and SO delicious: rich marinara sauce with a hearty flavor. But I was also excited to try another *flavor* of alfredo sauce that did NOT come out of grocery store jar, so I popped for not just one, but TWO (2) difference flavors of their Alfredo sauce! * A lemon Alfredo sauce; and, * A Parmesan Alfredo sauce I'm still experimenting on making my own fettuccine and linguini noodles, so it's tons o' fun mixing & matching different sauces with different pastas! THE LOWDOWN Thank you, Chubby Cupboard, for making many fun and delicious pastas and sauces! I love coming back for more!

I actually drove from Roseville to try this place out b/c I LOVE Italian & this place had such glowing reviews (the made-from-scratch pasta being a big draw also). Arrived on a Wednesday evening at just before 6pm & only waited about 10 mins for a spot to open up inside (they do have outdoor seating as well). Waitress quickly stopped by, dropped off some focaccia bread & asked what I'd like to drink. After that...I waited. Make sure you have plenty of time to kill by the way, b/c the service here is on the slower side. My wine finally arrived about 15 mins later & I was asked what I'd like to eat. Inquired about the pear + cheese ravioli & was told that it was on the "sweeter" side, but also that it was popular & I would actually be getting the last order of it for the night. Decided to go for it. Funny enough, the food came out way faster than my glass of wine did. Here is where the real problem began though. The ravioli was undercooked & difficult to chew. Not al dente. The filling itself was definitely on the sweeter side, but outside of that, it was bland. The brown butter sage sauce didn't add much to it at all & I ended up having to rely heavily on the salt/pepper that were already placed on the table. Overall, this wasn't something worth driving 45 mins for, but now I know for sure. At least the bread was good...lol.

As you walk up, you feel like you're entering a beautiful upscale restaurant with modern touches in Tuscany. Large wide-open dining spaces with beautiful modern design and a beautiful bar! Love that when you wait the hostess offers you a drink from the bar and brings it to you. I had a really delicious local Lodi Pinot Noir, my sister-in-law got the pear cocktail with cinnamon and wow it was so good! And they serve my husband and his brother their drinks promptly. The service is really great. If you do have any issues with birthdays or birthday cake just request a Manager. They had an interesting policy about not eating cake in the restaurant. But once we spoke with the Manager, things got sorted out. The food is insanely good! Worth every penny! I got the catch of the day with salmon and risotto and let me tell you I was in heaven so tender, flavorful and delicious! My husband got the ribeye which was cooked to perfection and brother and sister-in-law ordered their dishes that were also just perfection and delicious! Our server kept checking on us to make sure my sister-in-law's birthday was going great and it definitely was! I had an espresso martini that topped everything off, and it was the creamy one order that one! Overall, such a beautiful experience aside from the hiccup at check-in regarding the birthday cake they really redeemed themselves! We will definitely return. This is a great place for a date a family dinner or a celebration! I hear brunch pizza is amazing as well

A very small quaint restaurant with high quality ingredients and a cozy ambiance. A husband and wife run this place with a few staff and it is packed almost every night. I'd recommend making a reservation. They even recommended an appetizer because "there's only one chef and he's working on 31 plates". There are some patio seating in addition to the indoor tables and the bar. Nevertheless, it didn't seem to be an incredibly long wait for our food. We ordered the orchiette con salsiccia, which seems to be on the menu often. One of my favorite things to order. The sausage is cooked perfectly and has good flavor and I love the broccoli rabe and pasta texture. It's not a very saucy dish but full of flavor. We also tried the fregoli e gamberi. Again, not saucy, but great flavor. The shrimps were cooked really well and had great salinity and spice.

Other than the wait, the waiter and waitress were lovely and attentive through the meal. Our appetizer (asparagus & burrata, with prosciutto) did arrive quickly. It was tasty, though two of us found the burrata cheese quite salty, and the asparagus was a bit chewier than I expected. The Torchio e Granchio stole the night; the Dungeness crab meat was excellent and tasted fresh, and matched the cream sauce well (which I normally don't like to eat, but was great with the crab). The beef and pork meatballs were sizeable, which was appreciated; we found them a bit over-flavored however (particularly with oregano), and the sauce-to-meat proportions was a bit much (way too much sauce for the amount of pasta and meatballs for our taste). I found the Orecchiette con Salsiccia to be wwayyy more spicey than the Fregola e Gamberi. Though on the menu they both have one chili sign beside them, I could barely taste any spice in the Fegola e Gamberi, but in the end I picked out a small pile of chili pepper bits from the Orecchiette, which even after doing so my mouth still burned through the meal. They definitely need to add an extra chili next to this dish in the menu.
