    Garlic Casarecce
    Courtney O.

I stopped in to The Chubby Cupboard last week to pick up a gift and decided to purchase a couple of things to try at home. I bought the Garlic Casarecce and the Parmesan Alfredo. I loved that the Casarecce had instructions on the container to let you know how long to cook the pasta for. I cooked the pasta and sauce last night and it was very tasty! I especially loved the hint of garlic from the pasta. The Chubby Cupboard is located in Carmichael and ran by Mari who is as lovely as they come! Very personable and you can tell she puts a lot of love into her pasta making and business. The inside is small, intimate and quaint. She offers fresh and dried pasta as well as homemade spices and a few other little treasures! She also offers cooking classes which I will definitely be signing up for soon! Check out The Chubby Cupboard and support small!

This is a fun and unique find! They make handmade creative flavors of pastas and sauces. My favorite is the Meyer lemon pasta, marinara sauce, and almond pesto. They even make arugula pasta! You can go to their shop during business hours and purchase pastas and sauces to take home. I do not find their sauces to be over salted like I find in restaurants. The owner is so nice! She trained in Italy. They also have private pasta making classes that you can sign up for online. The store is homey and cute. My new go to for Italian food!

Chestnut orecchiette pasta in a Gorgonzola cream sauce, topped with shredded Parmesan.

First, the service is amazing. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly owners and they were happy to answer our questions and give us recommendations. We took their advice and bought the Chestnut Orecchiette pasta and Gorgonzola cream sauce. It was fantastic. The best pasta I've had in a long long time. The sauce was a perfect pairing. It was easy to heat up and was about $25 and easily serves 4, so much much cheaper than going out for an Italian meal. We served it with homemade bread and a chopped Cesar salad and it really felt like a special meal. I can't wait to try more of their pastas and sauces!

I've been back twice and I have loved every pasta and sauce I've tried so far. I'm so thrilled to have a great place in Carmichael.

I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside--smothered in a rich, flavorful marinara and topped with just the right amount of melted cheese. Every bite was incredible and packed with comfort and flavor. It truly set a new standard. The Penne Chicken was another standout dish. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the Homemade Pink Sauce had an incredible balance--creamy, savory, and well-seasoned without being heavy. The chicken was flavorful and complemented the dish perfectly along with the Sun Dried Tomatos and the Shave Parmesan. It's the kind of meal you don't want to end. And the San Danielle pizza was Incredible! The crust was spot-on--crispy but still soft, --and the toppings tasted fresh, high quality, and thoughtfully paired. Every slice was bursting with flavor. The service was absolutely on point--from the warm greeting when we walked in, to our attentive waiter, everything ran smoothly. The timing was incredible too; from placing our order to having the food at our table took no more than 20 minutes. Overall, Fiori Italian Pizzeria exceeded every expectation. The food, the presentation, and the consistency were all top-tier. If you're in Folsom and looking for authentic, high-quality Italian food, this place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back again and again.

My Panzarotti was very disappointing. The menu failed to mention it has a lot of rosemary-so much that it overwhelmed the dish. The portion size was very small too. We all agreed our server was fantastic and it's a really nice restaurant.I don't think we'd be back unless meeting friends for drinks and appetizers.

Now on to the food I actually tried their spaghetti and meatballs which was really good and it wasn't too heavy. I also got to try out their lamb shank which was a really tender lamb and also comes with a brown gravy and really great mashed potatoes and some fresh veggies. . I really like their calamari which was really fresh and crispy. I also like their salmon Carpaccio which comes with a bed of lettuce which is like a salmon salad and it's very huge portion. . The house spread that comes with it is okay it wasn't my favorite because of the texture. . I really do like their desserts I highly recommend getting the cheesecake and also their original tiramisu. Hello to the fresh sturgeon steaks that called my name. My favorite fish is very hard to find and super expensive. These steaks per pound seemed way cheaper than any other meat or fish since this economy jumped into the handbasket. The sturgeon was delicious grilled and seasoned with a little duck fat oil amd lemon. I also got some enormous thick loin lamb chops and some veal stew to make my mother's fabulous veal saute (on the stove as we speak) recipe. They had real almond macaroons and an amazing assortment of Ukrainian, Russian, and Armenian delicacies and staples. Staff was friendly and answered my nosy questions; check out was easy and uncrowded. Worth a trip.

When I came in for my interview, the owner flat out, asked whether I was married. I found that question odd and said I was married. After that, the interview felt over, he didn't ask any more questions about my experience or anything at all in fact. He took a phone call, paced around while talking, didn't tell me to wait, and then opened the door as if I should leave. I tried to hand him my résumé; he only nodded and didn't take it, so I left it on his desk and walked away. He never called me back, which didn't surprise me. My friend later said that once he found out she was engaged he would make passive aggressive jokes about her fiancé, questions like "Who is this fiancé you keep talking about?" or "When's the wedding? It's been a while." She often felt uncomfortable around him. About a month ago I went in to buy a cake. I'm not familiar with Slavic cakes, so I asked to try a piece. The worker let me taste it, and I asked them to cut it in half so I could buy one piece. At other Slavic stores (including this one), unless a cake is sold boxed, they'll cut to size. When she cut it, she then insisted I had to buy both half. I told her I only wanted one; she got irritated and said she'd get in trouble because the leftover half was small. If it's sold only whole, that should have been stated up front when I ask to cut them. I ended up spending about $50, which felt excessive. My aunt was upset too and said the worker had lied and forced me to buy the other half. The store itself is okay. Don't buy the potatoes, they're often rotten or moldy. They always have beets and dill, which is great. I love the hot food staff; they're always sweet, friendly, and patient!
