    Garlic Casarecce
    Courtney O.

I stopped in to The Chubby Cupboard last week to pick up a gift and decided to purchase a couple of things to try at home. I bought the Garlic Casarecce and the Parmesan Alfredo. I loved that the Casarecce had instructions on the container to let you know how long to cook the pasta for. I cooked the pasta and sauce last night and it was very tasty! I especially loved the hint of garlic from the pasta. The Chubby Cupboard is located in Carmichael and ran by Mari who is as lovely as they come! Very personable and you can tell she puts a lot of love into her pasta making and business. The inside is small, intimate and quaint. She offers fresh and dried pasta as well as homemade spices and a few other little treasures! She also offers cooking classes which I will definitely be signing up for soon! Check out The Chubby Cupboard and support small!

This is a fun and unique find! They make handmade creative flavors of pastas and sauces. My favorite is the Meyer lemon pasta, marinara sauce, and almond pesto. They even make arugula pasta! You can go to their shop during business hours and purchase pastas and sauces to take home. I do not find their sauces to be over salted like I find in restaurants. The owner is so nice! She trained in Italy. They also have private pasta making classes that you can sign up for online. The store is homey and cute. My new go to for Italian food!

Chestnut orecchiette pasta in a Gorgonzola cream sauce, topped with shredded Parmesan.

First, the service is amazing. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly owners and they were happy to answer our questions and give us recommendations. We took their advice and bought the Chestnut Orecchiette pasta and Gorgonzola cream sauce. It was fantastic. The best pasta I've had in a long long time. The sauce was a perfect pairing. It was easy to heat up and was about $25 and easily serves 4, so much much cheaper than going out for an Italian meal. We served it with homemade bread and a chopped Cesar salad and it really felt like a special meal. I can't wait to try more of their pastas and sauces!

I've been back twice and I have loved every pasta and sauce I've tried so far. I'm so thrilled to have a great place in Carmichael.

Don't let the strip mall location fool you--the experience inside is phenomenal. The Food: My Chicken Parmesan was perfectly crispy, and the Pea Agnolotti was savory and luxurious. We started with the Caesar salad (plenty for two!) and finished with desserts that were absolutely off the charts. The wine list is also out of this world. The Service: Top-tier. They even shelved our to-go boxes away from the table so we could enjoy dessert without the clutter. Even my husband, who can be difficult to please, was impressed by everything--right down to the heavy, high-quality flatware. It was filling up fast for a Monday night, and it's easy to see why. We are thrilled with this find and will definitely be back!

Caesar Salad - lots of lettuce, delicious dressing although very little of it, so the salad was very dry. Not one flake of Parmesan on the salad or offered on the side. Very disappointing. Looking at the pictures other patrons posted of their salads, mine was definitely NOT like theirs! Hardly any dressing and no cheese on mine! I also had ordered the agnolotti. The little raviolis were very strange. Some were only partially cooked, many had edges that were hard and inedible. $34 for this? Husband ordered the pomodoro. The pasta had been boiled to death - it was so mushy it was inedible. We both tossed out our entrees after a few bites. We were extremely disappointed, needless to say. This was my after-surgery treat and it was terrible. Out of curiosity, I perused some of the reviews, and the bad ones scared me. The owner's responses were condescending. Two parties stated in their (separate) reviews that they got food poisoning. He went so far as to claim these poor people DID NOT get food poisoning from his restaurant because food poisoning "takes 12 hours or more to set in". That is QUITE UNTRUE! Now we didn't get food poisoning, but our experience along with the owner's outright false statement is enough for us. We shan't be returning. I am also posting the Cleveland Clinic's AND the CDC's SCIENTIFIC FACTS about the time period within which food poisoning can take effect.

I skipped adding protein (meat has just not been it for me lately), and honestly, it didn't even need it--the flavor carried on its own. My only tiny complaint? It said it came with sun-dried tomatoes... and I think I counted three. But even with that, the dish still hit. My wife ordered the chicken parmesan and said it was bomb. Of course I had to try a bite--and she wasn't lying. The flavors were all there, no notes, no "I wish it had this or that"--just solid. I also had the white sangria and let me tell you... that alone is worth coming back for. So good. We sat out on the patio, got greeted right away, and our waitress was attentive, kind, and just added to the whole experience. She even offered dessert, but we were so full we had to pass--and that's saying something because banana cream pie is one of my favorites. Bonus: she's the one who makes it. I love a good family-style spot like that. We'll definitely be back... and next time I might just order a salad so I can save room for that pie

I am leaving a review today specifically because we came to Milagro on a Monday for the Gelato place only to notice they were closed. We sat outside after with our to go cup and they even came out and handed us some waters since it was a warmer day. Safe to say they always go above and beyond and we will continue to come back for not only the great food but the incredible service!

I also got to try out their lamb shank which was a really tender lamb and also comes with a brown gravy and really great mashed potatoes and some fresh veggies. . The house spread that comes with it is okay it wasn't my favorite because of the texture. . I really do like their desserts I highly recommend getting the cheesecake and also their original tiramisu. I ended up ordering 2 of the same bowls because it was a limited time only kind of bowl which was a Chili Garlic Ramen noodle bowl. One bowl I ordered Grilled Chicken for the protein and the other bowl I ordered Seasoned Tofu. Side note, the 2 for $12 deal didn't include the proteins since that costs extra so the deal was only if I didn't add any protein to my bowls. Since I ordered from the app, I was able to go in and grab my order then drive back home. My food was still hot by the time I got home even after driving in the cold and pouring rain. When I got home and started eating my bowl which had the seasoned tofu protein, I noticed that they didn't put much of it compared to my husband's bowl that had the grilled chicken protein. On top of that, the noodles were extra oily and greasy and too salty for my liking. I had to drink something sweet after to get rid of all the saltiness. I understand that noodle bowls are typically oily and salty but I just felt like it was too much for my tasting with this bowl. I mostly wished I had more of the seasoned tofu protein though. I guess if I were to order here again next time, I would probably get a bowl with the grilled chicken protein rather than the seasoned tofu protein since it seemed like they add more protein if you opt for the grilled chicken.
