If I lived in Seattle, I would live here. Dog-friendly patio with the best vibe ever. I mean we're talking long-tables resting on barrels with family style seating benches. This is the type of place you get to know your neighbours at. It's family friendly so watch your language ;) (whoops..) If you're hungry (and this is clever) go inside and help yourself to a bowl of salted pretzels. Clever because the salt makes you want to drink more...Cheeky, and awesome. Beer wise - their slogan says it all: Because Beer Matters. Hell yeah beer matters. They had 4 IPA's on tap when we got there - the Randall (with notes of rosemary, thyme and lime..MMM! I kinda loved it); an imperial IPA, and two other regular IPA's. I had a delish summer ale (Which tasted a lot like a fruity and toned back IPA), and I flippin' loved it. Because it was such a hot day I didn't bother looking at the other options but they had a pale ale, the "wandering wheat," which our neighbours raved about, a couple other ales and a stout that sounded amazing. I saw a few people with sampler paddles loving life.. If we're going to be honest, my husband and I came twice in one day. The first time it was mid afternoon and nice and empty and quiet, and the second time we came back was after 5 - the patio was overflowing with people, with cyclists rolling up, dogs laying around and a bunch of people munching on food that they brought with them (read: pizza. nom). Both times were so fun, and I was bummed to leave. The only bummer was the overpowering smell of brewing yeast later on in the evening, but I'ma say it added to the ambience of it all. I wish I could have stayed here longer, because this is a great place to drink. Went on a Thursday night, which closes at 9, but they let you stay and finish the beers you ordered. Got close to the end of the night and managed to get here 8ish - really not near anything. What caught me off guard here the most is the significantly cheap beer ranging from $4-6. That's NOTHING for a quality craft. Ended up trying both the Interurban IPA (standard IPA flavor with subtle finish) and The Brother Imperial IPA (strong to the point of almost Belgian). There are free water and pretzels, but didn't have the stomach for either. Outside bench seating is classic, and a nice relaxing/young vibe. Will recommend to anyone to try out if visiting Seattle. read more

Freemont Brewing is almost exactly what you expect when you think Brewery. Nice selection of beer, good atmosphere, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I'm a fan of sweet ciders, but decided to try the Summer Ale on my visit. I'm happy with my decision. The only thing that made me raise an eyebrow is that people had children in the brewery, and the brewery has a large toy selection to keep these children entertained. Personally don't think a brewery is a place to hang out with children around...but hey, to each his own. read more

I love supporting local breweries so I was excited when I stumbled upon Fremont Brewing company. I've passed by this place dozens of times but never actually realized it was a brewery until last week. It's located right next to Bikram Yoga - there's street parking available on Woodland and it's very accessible to the Burke-Gilman Trail if you prefer to bike it. I'd recommend doing the sampler for $6 where you can taste all 6 beers they have on tap. They also have pints for $4-$5 which is a great deal, especially for a local brew. The places is charming in it's own way, it's inside a garage type building, there are lots of regulars playing cards or just chit chatting. There's a water cooler and pretzels to snack on while you enjoy your cold one - if pretzels aren't your thing you can bring your own snacks/food. It's also dog friendly so feel free to bring fido along. The place can get crowded and seating can be sparse. I wish they had space to have outdoor seating/a beer garden. Bottom line, although I wasn't a huge fan of the brew I had (University Pale Ale), I'd be willing to give them another shot. Their unique, low key, and hospitable atmosphere paired with being family owned and organic, begs a return trip. read more

Stumbled upon this brewery while walking to Gas Works Park! We stopped by and ordered a flight to sample different beers. The employees are super friendly and helpful in explaining the beers. The space is pretty big with indoor and outdoor seating. They also have complimentary pretzels near the self serve water. Every time I've been here, it's been packed with people. I wonder how it is during the winter when the outside seating isn't as pleasant. As it is, it's a great place to hang out when the weather's nice. The first time we came here, we just drank full glasses of a couple different beers. Last time, we did samplers with some out-of-town friends. It was really inexpensive both for the tastings and to fill the growlers we'd brought with us. I don't love IPAs and IPA-style beers, which many of theirs are. That said, I don't hate theirs, either -- which is a step in the right direction! If a beer is hoppy and I still want to drink it, I'd say they're doing something right. The best part is ALL THE DOGS. Seriously, if you hate dogs, probably stay away. There's also a lot of children, which is curious for a brewery, but hey, it makes for interesting people watching! read more

Great place to grab a pint,,,especially if you want to sit outside or have a true community experience in Fremont. We got the sampler. The universal pale ale (5.6)is not a traditional pale ale. But if you like a hoppy IPA, then go for it. The IPA (6.2)has an even keel hop with an interesting spice but a little more malt than we like. The summer ale is easy going drinking at 5.2%abv. If u like wheat beer, your in for a treat with the wondering wheat. The last beer we tasted was a cask beer served room temperature European style and "alive"... Still fermenting. I'm impressed how cheap beers are at Fremont Brewing. I came a couple weeks ago with a few friends and were surprised to find $4 craft brews and a large spacious environment to hang out with friends. When we came it appeared that a local run group wrapped up their evening workout and all came to grab a pint as well. The people are friendly and the concept is simple. Space + Cheap beer that tastes good. While I wish they had the ability to serve food - I know that would change the environment all together. You can bring food in to dine or even have it delivered to the bar. You can fill your growler with your favorite brew to bring to a weekend picnic. I'll have to remember to bring snacks next time I come. Peanuts, popcorn, anything - since they don't have food here - be sure to come prepared! read more

The sun was setting as we arrived and close to last call, so it was a little unfortunate that we couldn't be here to enjoy the summer sunlight earlier in the day. Regardless, it was still a nice, social atmosphere- smaller seating area inside where the bar is and a larger seating area outside with picnic tables. Really love this place. Been here over 5 times now. Bring your own food and grab a cheap beer and hang out in the sun on a bench (aka those rare Seattle days or summer months). Super cool/chill place with 5-10 beer selections. Love the fact that you can bring outside food. They also provide free pretzels and apples-- nice little snack to munch on (the pretzels that is...who really eats the apples?). The only downfall is there are only 2 bathrooms and when this place gets crowded (think it can accommodate 100 ppl or more), it's like a club line to the bathroom and it sucks. We drove all the way from Bellevue for a Saturday night out to tour several Ballard breweries and Fremont Brewing was our 1st and last stop. We brought our pooches and so did others. You can call this place very family friendly and accommodating and for that matter, accessible. Parking was a struggle but we got lucky just as a car was pulling out right behind the building. We ordered a 5 beer sample flight and they were all good. Next round was the plush beer. Nice taste to it. What a great place to meet other people and socialize! We met a super nice couple who also had 2 dogs with them and it seemed like we talked the night away. Free pretzels for everyone! The bartenders are super nice. The line moved very quickly. Lots of outside seating but we got cold sitting outside after while and longed to huddle around the indoor fireplace. Already looking forward to our next trip! read more

There's a tiny bar with fewer selections (but still had like 10-12 different options) on the left side of the building, which was surprisingly free even though the main bar was packed.
