The venue's great - very classic taproom with tons of production space. We got lucky, we were there on a brew day too - Thursday afternoon I believe it was. We sat outside where they were pumping whatever heat/steam/etc. and it smelled absolutely incredible. Better than fresh-baked bread. Even outside it just smelled absolutely delicious. The only thing was....I found the beers to just be OK. The oktoberfest was good but certainly had better in that area, the lichtenhainer was interesting but not worth writing home about. Came here for a happy hour today and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of space that this brewery had. Lots of alcoholic and non alcoholic options so definitely a plus - I ordered their non alcoholic slushie margarita, which was pretty good. Bathrooms are pretty clean and the service was also quite fast and friendly. The board games that they had available for customers were pretty fun to play as well. Stoup Brewery did a fantastic job with our July 5, 2025 post wedding party of 130 guests. All aspects of the evening were wonderfully addressed. Easy access and parking. The large indoor space with high top stools was clean, spacious, some low tables and chairs were wheeled in for our younger and older guests, various games from the game shelves were a hit, private bartender and full staff were friendly and accommodating, wrist bands for our party contract were a fabulous idea, Reserved signs and Welcome sign were a nice touch. We didn't even leave the party space for the outdoor patio or on site food truck. The coordination between you and our outside vendor D'Elementi Catering was perfect. read more

Our final brewery that we visited in the Ballard neighborhood was Stoup Brewing. We had tried to go to Urban Family across the street but they had already closed for the night, but we saw that Stoup was still open. I couldn't do anymore beer at the end so I just stuck with a sampler. They had lots of beers available on tap, but when my dad ordered a stout and a Bavarian Hefeweizen, I had to have the hefeweizen! Both were in the sample glass, obviously. I think Stoup has one of the best hefeweizens all around. My dad said that their stout was pretty good. They don't serve food directly, but they have a food truck outside. They also have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which are both spacious. Another great brewery located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle! This is a must try if you're in the area. read more

The place is huge, went there to start off our bar crawl night. Their beer selection is amazing. Tried the fruity versions and ciders because I am not a beer person. The service was good. It was well organized. You come, stand in the line if there's any, get your beer, take a seat, enjoy. Simple concept. There's no food there, but you can order from outside and eat in. Stoup Brewing is among the cluster of breweries in the area and sits solid in the pack with pretty good selection. Step outside of it and you're only a few yards away from another if you want to brew hop, which is what I did a little of. The young lady doing pours was very cool to talk to about the beers. She made different recommendations and poured samples no problem. Her descriptions were pretty on point, so this was also nice. There is indoor seating which isn't quite that big but has TVs. The patio area is very good, maybe one of the best with decent space and seating of all types with music going. There is a food truck out front like many of the others for some bites while you drink. The Citra IPA is probably my favorite here. As you'd guess, it's citrusy and goes down good on a summer day. Tastes good in can too. My latest visit I had a "Paraderade" IPA. Has a florally flavor, not bad. As far as hanging out, with a sizeable menu, I'd say Stoups is best on this block. read more

Great vibes at Stoup! Plenty of seating indoor and out. They have a garage door at their main entrance that is open on nice days. There's a large beer selection to try from and they also have beer to go. For food, there is "Owen's meat machine" which is essentially a vending machine. Stoup Brewing is a taproom and brewery with multiple locations throughout Seattle. They were founded in 2013 with co-owners Lara, Brad Benson, and Robyn Schumacher. While on my Ballard trek I made a stop by their taproom to try some of the beers they had on tap. Let me tell you, it was a tough one. They have a nice variety of IPAs with some other styles you normally don't think of Stoup doing. Citra IPA: Just an OG American IPA sitting at 5.9% ABV this is one you can have a couple and feel alright. Bright in color and crisp in body. The aromas and flavors make you think of biting into a ripe orange. On a rainy day it brought me to a tropical island. Nightmare on Eldo Street IPA: A West Coast IPA with editions of El Dorado (duh), Citra Cryo, and Mosaic Cryo. I get overripe pineapple, some passionfruit, and citrus. s. Neck Tats Double IPA: A Double IPA bittered with Chinook and then a generous addition of Simcoe was added in the whirlpool and dry hop both in the form of pellets and cryo. Layers upon layers of Simcoe goodness with a decent bitter bite. Freakout Pilsner: A Pilsner dry hopped to give some hoppy goodness to a crisp and dry Pilsner base. Refreshing and an all day drinker! Belgian Dubbel: A Belgian Dubbel that honestly was my favorite beer of the flight. Rich and malty with a reddish-copper appearance. I get dark dried fruit esters with no alcohol burn. Some malt sweetness, but not overwhelming. Cocoa and caramel aromas as well. A beautiful beer that I wouldn't have expected from a hop oriented brewery. _____ read more

100% recommend this brewery. The vibe here and genuine friendly service was an absolutely refreshing experience. The Seattle freeze is none existent here! Excellent friendly service with a smile and pleasant conversation. The beer is delicious too. I had a pint of their flagship IPA with the suggestion it was a great "get to know us" craft beer. Bubbly, light, and super refreshing. The beer garden is huge and inviting too. Cool music to go with the vibes. Steam from the inside smelling like hops and barley came out of the vents in the beer garden. Nicely done Stoup! I ended my visit with a taster of their strawberry sour. Super delicious. For living in Seattle now for 13 years, I'm shocked with myself not knowing about this awesome brewery. The beer I had was a Bavarians Hefeweizen. It was perfect! Stoup is a fun brewery with lots of beer varieties on tap. Street parking all over the place in Ballard, but you may be a few blocks away. They have a big outdoor tent area for outdoor seating, and some indoor seating as well. The place was pretty popular on a warm sunny weekend in January, and we had to stand around to wait for a table. I got a hazy IPA which was yummy and affordable ($6-7). One of my favorite breweries among the many in the Ballard area -- it's right at the edge of the pack, which makes it a perfect starting or ending point for a night of brewery hopping! They have a great selection of beers ranging from IPAs to sours to lagers and more, as well as a fridge with 4-packs available for purchase. I've stopped in many times to enjoy a drink inside as well as grab one for a party or picnic! They have a large outdoor patio with plenty of heating, which I really appreciate. The bartenders are always really helpful and make great recommendations. I've always loved every drink I've gotten here, and tend to switch it up each time. Been wanting to come here for a long time but everytime we visit (weekday or weekends) there is always a huge line of folks wanting to get in here.. finally one Friday evening got here early and we werre promptly seated at a table on their patio upstairs.. lot of room to accomodate large crowds but be prepared for their long wait times.. Now lets talk about their beer - they have the best porter hands down! It is so nice and smooth love everything about their porter.. i also tried their amber and cider and enjoyed them both.. there is something for all sorts of beer lovers here.. the environment is casual and chill.. great place for friends to catch up.. they always have some food truck or the other lined up outside so you can munch while you grab your drink.. not many folks know but they do have a parking lot adjacent to the brewery so folks be mindful of residential spots in the surrounding blocks and park in Stoups designated parking lot.. Stoup brewing is in a very cool spot in Kenmore, it is kids friendly AND in the summer they are right across from a pretty cool splash pad so you can watch your kids while having some refreshments. Their food is also amazing although it is a bit on the pricier side. read more

My wife and I came to Stoup for her birthday while on vacation in Seattle. We had a great experience. The staff were so nice and they even referred us to another brewery which we ended up loving. I don't drink beer but my wife enjoyed some of the selections and she really liked that you could do flights of beer to be able to try multiple kinds. read more

I know I'm in the minority here in the PNW, but I don't like hops. If you like hoppy beers and specifically IPA's, then you are going to love the selection at Stoup! I ordered their least hoppy light beer (according to our server), a Cervecita Mexican Lager. Definitely hoppy, but at least not to the point that I couldn't finish it. I tried J's German Style Pilsner, and it was hoppier than I'd like. They had a couple sours on tap, and I think at least one dark that wasn't described as hoppy, but this day I was craving something light and refreshing. The person behind the counter came across as super impatient and unfriendly, but our interaction was brief. Busy on a Saturday afternoon, but not too busy that we couldn't find a covered table out on their dog-friendly patio. Food truck was on site with additional truck options at other breweries on the block. All in all a great spot if you love the beers they're offering. I just wish there were more of a variety in terms of hoppiness. But that is the fad we are still living. read more

I have been waiting to visit for quite a while but so glad finally carved out some time on my last trip home for Christmas. I have had the beers at various exclusive beer fests (Horus and Bagby), and was really excited to try the full line up in person. Everything I had was fantastic (BBA Shapka, Mixtape Romeo, couple other tasters). The person working the counter had to be freezing but was so friendly in helping talk through a couple beer choices. 5 stars for stoup! It was a beautiful Saturday day so crowds were expected. Came around 2PM and there were no tables available for our group of 9 but the staff was super nice to rearrange some seating for us and we were able to get a table outdoors for our size within 15 minutes. Glad we got there a bit earlier since the wait afterwards was upwards of 1 hour. Really enjoyed how Stoup didn't have any time limits on tables as well so you could take your time to enjoy a couple beers. I tried their sour and typically sours can be more vinegary but the one they had here was super light and refreshing I ended up getting two! Outside there was also a food truck and some places down the street and Stoup let's you bring outside food to enjoy at your table which was awesome. After you're done it's self-bussing so be sure to bring your empty cups to the bins out front so they can easily clean your tables for the next group. If you become a really big fan they do have plenty of apparel for sale as well to show your support. Again, staff here was great which really makes the experience as well. Thank you! read more

I've been to Stoup a few times and was more than excited to visit again during this year's Washington Beer Open House. Wow, was it crowded! The line to get a beer on the main level was (almost literally) a mile long. And though there were a lot more beers to choose from at this beer bar, I happily followed the sign to their upstairs seating area where - while there were fewer beers on tap - the service was immediate. I grabbed a tasting duo featuring a dark and a light (all the better for a comparison taste!) and both were quite good, though the dark was by far my favorite. Since I was on my own I sat inside and did some people watching through the busy windows as the outdoor deck was super busy. Before the last couple pf weeks I had only been to Stoup one other time for a holiday craft fair. That day the food being sold out front was hot dogs and were in the mood for something else for dinner if we had stayed we probably would've enjoyed a beer. Jump forward to April 10th my friend Dozfy was doing doing a Pictionary event that night cause their regular trivial pursuit person was on vacation. Was a fun night I only grabbed a small cider that night. The following Monday I attended an Intentionalist event which was a tour and tasting from two of the co owners. Both events were fun was a great way to meet nee people. i'm more of a wine drinker but not against drinking beer. The tour was not only a way to learn more about beer but the owners as well how they got started and what plans they have for the future. I'm big on supporting local businesses getting to know the people behind the business around town makes you want to support them even more. Lara and Robyn were awesome so fun to get know them and Stoup. My favorite of the samples was their limited edition the Pink Socks and Sandals grisette a benefit beer for The Pink Boots Society created to assist, inspire and encourage women beer industry professionals to advance their careers through education. Luckily Tandoozy was there for food that night. Yum! read more

OK, they have some genius ideas here at Stoup Brewing. First - why serve their own food when they can have a rotating crop of food trucks out front. GENIUS I say! They have many selections including cider. I'm not much of a drinker but I tried a couple of the IPAs and they were refreshing and wonderful. The staff were helpful and attentive. Though I don't have a dog, I like that this place is dog-friendly. There were a bunch of sweet pooches available to pet. This place is a perfect brewery!! Tons of beers on tap, very friendly beertenders, and lots of variety. The beertenders were quick and attentive. Especially when they became very busy for about an hour. They had a great system of calling out beers, pouring, and running the register. Spout is in a warehouse with a huge garage door that opens to the street. They had a taco truck visiting and the ambiance was just perfect. I'd go back and I highly recommend them! read more
