I don't get here too often, but I always stop by when I am riding my bike on the Burke-Gilman. I appreciate the signage on the trail directing me at where to turn off. There are quite a few options for securing your bike, the patio is large if you want to sit outside to keep an eye on it. You save a 1$ off your first beer if you arrive by bike. Not a lot of food options but some snacks for sale if you need a quick bite. The pretzels looked appetizing and on the day we visited they had some cheap brats for sale, but I think this is not a daily option. The person behind the counter was friendly offering samples and suggestions for beer choices. They had a wide variety of choices, I had a really delicious cucumber habanero cider from Offset. Even though it was a busy day there was still plenty of space and it was not too loud. I'd love to come here for trivia sometime. Visiting from California a few weeks and while out riding the Burke-Gilman trail, stumbled upon this brewery. Who doesn't love a nice cold beer after a bike ride? Well, Burke-Gilman did not disappoint. Friendly service and some tasty brews! Just wish they had food to pair with their beer. If there's one thing that Seattle has a good amount of, it's breweries. And for that, I am THANKFUL. Not all breweries are created equally, though, and Burke-Gilman definitely is a force to be reckoned with in the beer scene. Admittedly, I stopped by because I happened to be working with them on a Diaper Drive in benefit of Step by Step based out of Puyallup, but I stopped by one day.... And then I stopped by the next day, too. Whoops. They are small on the inside, but they have outdoor seating with several tables. They have heaters, but I wouldn't say that put off a great amount of warmth, so wear layers if you get cold easily. The beers are SUPER tasty. I love that they did an International Women's Day Brew during March - I forget the name but I know the word "sisters" was in it. Loved it so much! Had a few of those both days I went. I also love their Hypothesis IPA - lots of flavor in that one. Another really cool thing that I spotted that they do is "Buy A Beer For a Seattle Children's parent," which is pretty self-explanatory. You can beer-it-forward and purchase for a parent going to/from Seattle Children's. I think that's a really awesome thing to do and commend them for giving the community the opportunity to support parents, even if it just means with a tasty beer. Quite a cool little spot just a few blocks from Seattle Children's Hospital. We dropped in while one of our little dudes was at an appointment and discovered some delicious IPAs with hops from where we hail from! The hopsplainer and hopothesis were both gold medal winners in the 2020 hazy IPA category and were lovely! They are definitely an IPA heavy spot, but do you have a number of a good number of Belgians that are available and, per the report, some upcoming barrel aged stuff. They had seven or eight different options in the cooler as well as some juice boxes for the young lads. When the world opens up again, this will be a super cool spot to check out and actually sit down to have a beer at. Easy to get in and out, especially if the parking spots are open! read more

I got the habanero lime cider and it was delicious! The spice in it is the perfect level where you can absolutely sip on it and taste ALL of the flavors not just the spice. The lime taste went great with the cider taste. I would've never expected to love this combination of flavors. Definitely going to come back again just for this super unique cider! The ambience of the outdoor seating is quite calm. The heaters are the best and the owner is super sweet. Only thing missing was some house music. This is a great local brewery. They have a nice selection of beers and you can get different sizes. They have trivia on Tuesday nights, which is really fun. The service is excellent and super friendly. You can have kids and leashed dogs here. I went here on a non trivia night and it was hard to get a table since later in the week is really popular. El Camion food truck is nearby where you can order ahead and eat it at the brewery. You can bring outside take out in. You get 10% off if you work at Seattle Children's Hospital. As I'm writing this review, I'm enjoying one of their beers, I got, to go, a tasty hazy that goes by the name 'Dry Spell', the saying on the can reads ' it's winter, we don't have to worry about a dry spell for awhile' , truth spoken there about the PNW! Enjoying the rain and all the flavorful beers here. So many great breweries, I can get FOMO just thinking about it! Lol Between the beers tried at the brewery and home from Burke-Gillman, they do a great job of brewing a well diverse palate of brews, at the moment, they have some great WC and hazy, low ABV brews, full of flavor, not over hopped, go down way too smoothly. Also yummy sours and seisons. A beer or cider or wine for anyone. If you ride in on a bike on Sunday, you get a discount, and no! If you hike in ya don't! Trust me, I tried. Lol and yet I can still say the service was friendly and knowledgeable, great conversation about hops used, going to use, and ones to be spoken of no more. Great location, close to U of W, so I didn't dare wear my Cal hat. However, their beers, especially the hazy and sour reminded me of one of my favorite breweries in Berkeley... What a great brewery! We came for a philanthropic event, Diapers and Brews, in which we bring a package of diapers to donate to low income pregnant/nursing mothers, and Burke-Gilman brewing pours us a free beer! What an amazing cause! They have a good selection of beers, and ciders, and while I'm not usually a cider-girl, theirs were exceptional - not too sweet, with the perfect amount of flavor. I tried the Habanero Lime Cider with the intention of ordering a different beer/cider the second time, but it was so delicious, I couldn't resist ordering a second glass of the same. That being said, my fiancé ordered the Cashmere Cider, which is not to be missed. There is a parking lot next to the building with plenty of spots, a definite plus in Seattle. read more

They always have a wide variety of beers and ciders so there is something for everyone and they are very helpful with explaining the types of beer/ letting you try a sample if needed. Back before this place opened I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new neighborhood brew house. However, I did have some level of trepidation about what the beer quality would be like. Let's face it, a lot of new breweries are hopping on the craft beer bandwagon just to make a buck. When a a brewery is just trying to make money and doesn't care that much about the quality of their product, it is fairly obvious. Fortunately, that has not been the case with Burke-Gilman Brewing. From day one the owner-operators of this brewery proved to be true connoisseurs- artists of the craft and beer nerds in the best possible way. They know beer inside and out, and they're very excited about beer and are highly motivated to develop superior products. While many breweries seem hesitant to put out anything but drab IPAs, these guys are not afraid to produce a wide variety of beer styles (as well as IPAs both experimental and traditional). They create a regularly rotating selection of outstanding beers and there is something on the menu to suit anyone's pallet. This is the kind of place where you want to come and hang out while taking your time with a good beer there is cozy indoor seating as well as a nice outdoor patio area. While there is no food in-house, they allow you to bring food in. The pro move is to get some primo tacos from the neighboring El Camion food truck to pair with a BG brew to eat on-site or to take to go. Speaking of which, this place is very convenient for to-go beers because they do growler fills and have crowler cans for those of us who don't carry glassware around with them at all times. I really enjoy being able to walk into this place and have conversations with the people that own the establishment and make the beer that I'm ordering. Patronizing an establishment that serves the community from within is great for both the consumer and the business. Supporting small, locally owned businesses as much as possible is good. It's nice to know where the products you buy come from, but actually interacting with the people that make those products is next level, especially when they are honest-to-goodness good folks. It's location near The U and the Burke Gilman trail will definitely get traffic. We actually came on opening day and it was hella busy!!! But staff were well equipped to handle the crowds and the line went pretty smoothly. There are lots of seating options - at the bar, tables (bar height and picnic tables) throughout, and seating outside. They allow kids and dogs, so that's always a plus! There were about 14 offerings (both beer and cider) for opening day. I'd say about a third were guest taps - we tried the 111 mile IPA, Burn the Ships really hoppy ale, and the Belgian Blonde. All were good beers, but to be honest I wasn't "wowed". I hope my next visit will have a beer I can brag about... read more

Came by on the 2nd day, Sunday after they opened to try a flight of their beers and to see if I wanted to join the Founders Club. Arrived a little after they opened and found an enthusiastic staff and plenty of beers to try on there first weekend. The space is open, with covered outdoor seating, accessible to the Burke-Gilman trail, kid play area and dog friendly. Already had a group of bikers drinking beer and eating tacos and burritos from the taco truck nearby. As for the beer, I found all the beers to be good and accessible to drinking a few as the ABV was around 5.4 on most of the beers. The Saison and Belgian stood out as the best of the flight with the IPA coming up 3rd for my taste. My wife really like the beers and she signed up for the Founders Club and got a nice stainless 64 ounce growler, glass and a t-shirt. You can check the website for all the other benefits and cost; while available. This is an excellent place as a stop over for bikers on the Burke-Gilman and for locals with children and dogs to hang out and have a few beers, for the adults. read more

This might be my favorite place in all of Seattle. Here's why: 1) Great beer. Seriously, it keeps winning awards. 2) Bight, cheery, friendly atmosphere. Outside in winter I like to get cozy by one of heat lamps or fireplaces. 3) Terrific staff. They could not be nicer. 4) There are tons of food options in close walking distance that you can bring in to eat. Sometimes I'll get Mexican good and my husband gets a burger and our friends get Indian good, and we're all happy. 5) When I'm driving there's always parking nearby. 6) If I want a place to do work in the afternoon, I can always find a quiet table with a plug. 7) They run a program where you can buy a beer for parents whose kids are down the block at at the Children's hospital. The owners are seriously good people. 8) You can check out the good dog wall with pictures of very many good dogs 9) They often have interesting things going on -- I've played trivia, seen talks from local experts at UW (they call those "smarty pints"), ordered from food trucks on nice summer days. Once they even had a book truck there. Swoon. 10) Because it's so dog friendly, there are nearly always very cute dogs around. I used to live nearby there and would go all the time. Now that I've moved across town, I'm not there as much, but I still visit when I can. The place is seriously a gem. I can't recommend it enough. read more

Big fan of this spot! It's ideally located, with beautiful seating on the inside and outside, and actually good food options really nearby that you can easily bring in. Staff is super friendly and nice, they have a great selection of beers, and I especially liked their saisons. Plus their beers are really reasonably priced! If you have trouble deciding they are very willing to let you sample. It can get pretty crowded on busy nights but we didn't feel like we needed to jostle at all. It's both family friendly and young-people friendly, as there were several families with kids and also groups of college kids all enjoying their time. It does get cold outside at night so I wonder if they might be able to utilize their outdoor space for more of the year if they had heaters outside. read more

I saw these guys for the first time at fresh hop fest in Yakima. They had the longest line. We tried a few of the barrel aged beers. A strong ale and a dubble. The strong ale was my preferred of the two, but both were nice. I will have to check it out again in the near future. read more

Great setup here right off the BGT. Went to pickup a bunch of brews pre-ordered online and it was super quick and easy. My partner got a 32 oz takeaway of some interesting sounding IPA on tap. Wish they had food here or teamed up with a food truck but that would probably make them even busier than they usually are! I haven't gotten to too many breweries on the west side. Burke-Gilman Brewing is excellent! There is lots of seating inside and some outside too. It has an open, friendly, and bright vibe. Right at the front you are greeted by the list of beers and the place you can make an order. I wanted a sampler and was given a card to mark off everything I wanted. The sampler trays come in 5s or 11s, but you can really pick as many or as few as you'd like. I sampled 9 of the beers on tap, and everything I had tasted fresh and was unique. There wasn't one single beer that really stood out as my favorite, but it was all good. Burke-Gilman gets my stamp of approval. read more

My husband and I were in the neighborhood and decided to try BGB. First off, parking can be a bit of an issue. Small lot on site, which is a shared lot. There is some street parking, but on a busy Saturday I imagine it can be challenging. There is a cute patio outside, with heaters (fall/winter in Seattle, this is a must). Walking inside, lots on the menu board! Holy samples, Batman! We had our work cut out for us, and had to try them all! You have 2 choices for sample trays, 5 or 11. Go big or go home, as we always say! Quite the fete, let me tell you! The sample tray was as long as I am tall! All the beers we sampled I would call average. My favorite was the double hazy. You would never know this was a double, which is trouble! Too easy to drink! In case you get hungry, there's lots of options near by! Burger joint, my favorite taco truck (El Camion) and Thai across the street! Bring your food in and enjoy with a pint... or 3! Cool spot! read more

I went here on opening weekend. The place was pretty busy... like most new businesses that open... especially eating places and breweries. A lot of places that just open have a rocky start to handling the customer flow but that wasn't an issue here at all. Things kept moving at a very good pace. Due to quite a few customers being here there was no seating inside at all but I manages to snag a spot along a wall where there were other brewery patrons and that was fine. In the summer these seating arrangements are actually a pleasure... in most cases. Burke-Gilman Brewing is right next to the Burke-Gilman trail which is a walking, bike path type trail for the city. So keeping the theme going I ordered the Burke Stout and the Gilman Porter. Not quite what I wanted on a warm summer day... those beers are better at least in my mind when it's cooler out but they were definitely enjoyable regardless. The beer I think I liked better was the stout. I like breweries that have a experimental or a risk taking creative side to their beer flavors. I didn't quite find that here but the beer was enjoyable enough and the staff was very friendly and eager to please the whole time that I was here. read more

Lighting way too bright. Is the establishment a brewery / bar or an ice cream parlor for children? We will think twice about coming here again because of the excessively bright lighting alone. Way too much light - it's a buzz kill. Tables were dirty, trash on benches and underneath. Staff member was sitting, on his phone when we entered. Beer quality average.
