Call the round two a few bike shops to try to get my tandem beach cruiser tuned up. It had a ton of problems and I had a friend that wanted to use it for a turkey trot to help out. The owner answered the phone and said I could bring my bike in and he would get it tuned up for me within an hour or two. I walked in the grab the bike, put it on a lift and got to work. They checked everything replace my brakes fixed. My spokes fixed my chain replaced screws replaced tires. The cost was extremely affordable, and I was so pleased with their customer service. The owner was so kind and knowledgeable and I purchased a light and a basket for my bike but I'm so pleased with how well they put my bike back together. I can now ride it and enjoy it for the first time in two years. I highly recommend this bike shop. read more

I bought my bike back in 2016 and it has been stressful and discouraging since the beginning. Very early on my bike seat began to swivel, I don't have a truck so bringing it back to the bike shop was very difficult. When I finally took it back they didn't change the screw that had been stripped from years of trying to tighten my bike seat. Again, it began swivel. To this day I don't want to ride my $500 bike for fear that the bike seat will fall apart. It's a gorgeous bike but it has brought me very little joy. read more

Thanks Yelpers for helping me find this place. One of our Electra bikes had back brake issues after several years and we didn't even buy it at Freeride. Regardless they dealt with contacting Electra because the part is essentially on recall. The repaired the bike on my dime but filed the necessary paperwork and said I'd get a check in the mail. I hate to admit it but I was thinking "Yeah Right, I will never get that check" Sure enough, it came and was more than I expected which is great. I've also brought other bikes there for service and they have always done an amazing job. No overselling and they cut straight to the recommendation on what to do and why. I emailed them for a bike tune-up quote. Got a quick quote. I replied thanks, and that I'll bring it over. Two days later I brought said bike over and the guy said he's not taking any bike tune ups, he's busy till--well, way far into the future. He looked pretty overworked. I don't think we made eye contact. He said, "Yeah, I'm sorry. Should have told you." He didn't want to take the bike. He went back to work. I stood there awkwardly for about a minute. There was a kid sweeping the floor. A lady at the cash register. I walked back to my car and drove home. These kinds of things happen. An hour of going there and back, plus the ten minutes to write this review. I was about to complain about my wasted my time, but to be honest I'm not curing cancer. If god gave me that hour back I'd probably just take a nap. It's more about disappointment than anything else. The shop looked nice. On a different day, with business not so good and a customer he can make money off of, I'm guessing the owner would be friendly. Well, he wasn't unfriendly. He was three-out-of-five-stars friendly, if that makes sense. If you plan on going there for tune-up / repair in 2020 or early 2021, I'd confirm he has a space in the schedule. Crazy times. Lets talk about people who love bikes because this is the place. This isn't their business, its in their blood. I've known Brian for a while now and you won't find another person whom will try to understand what you need in a bike. Or if your bike is doing something that causes you problems or worse shame that its not running for the local trails. Lets talk about accessories! My daughters cruiser didn't feel like it was her's it was just a bike. She added a bell and basket and then a basket liner that really kicks ass and she said it now feels like hers. For me this place feels like home, my family feels welcome and I'm happy to spend my currency at Freeride. I know that if the product fails or I have problems I can bring it back and they will make it right. Think about it, how many places can you say they will make it right until your happy? I can name the businesses on 1 hand how many have this level of integrity. Phoenix and if your lucky enough to live in Gilbert this is your only local bike shop you should have. Consider this, if there is something at Freeride that you want and they don't have it in stock they will make an effort to find it. Dropped by Freeride because it was the closet bike store to my home. I was headed out of town for Spring-break and I was having some issues with a bike rack that I had purchased from another shop a few years back. As soon as I walked into the store, I was greeted by Rich. I explained to him my problem, and he had me pull my car around to the back shop, and he solved and fixed my problem within several minutes. He gave me some addition suggestions on security of my bikes on the rack, and I was able to purchase those items from him. We went in to look for one cruiser for my mom and ended up getting one for her and another for myself! Everything from the service, the options, the bike accessories...amazing! Over Charged, Underdelivered, Terrible Customer Service I stopped in at Freeride to purchase a bike for Xmas for my son, his old bike also from Freeride was very nice just getting too small. I explained what my needs we're and brought in the old bike for a trade in. The old bike was a Haro FlightLine w/ 1X gear set up. The new bike is a Trek 820 which I was advised was a step up. I explained I wanted a single sprocket up front and was told those only come in high end bikes. I purchased the Trek from them and on the first ride the front derailer spun on the frame and jammed up, the bolt wasn't tightened down. I stopped on my way home one day to let them know I needed to bring it in and fix it, it was also now my older sons birthday and time for a new bike for him. After speaking with Andy about the issues W/ the just purchased bike we focused on finding a bike for my 13 year old. I explained I want something nicer then the Trek 820 I wasn't happy with it. He Showed me the Marlin 5 and It still wasn't 1X gearing. Once again I was told that only comes in much higher priced bikes. Also while talking to Andy the price of the Marlin 5 went up 2 times, at the time I laughed it off with him saying I'm gonna get outta here the longer I talk to you the more the prices goes up we both laughed and I walked away. Feeling very suspect of the interaction I just had I went down the street to another bike shop. I was shown a Giant Talon 2. It had everything I asked for and then some, one-bi gearing, disc bakes that are not only disc but hydraulic. I bought the bike. I got home and called Freeride, Deb answered I explained everything she listen as was so nice on the phone and said they would make it right. I was sure she was gonna do just that so the next morning I dropped the broken, not properly assembled and adjusted Trek off. I asked her to call me with some options as to what we could do here like we spoke about last night on the phone in which I had explained everything that had happened up to this point. She called back later that day and said we got the bike fixed it's 100% and gave me a few options like we had discussed. 1. If you wanna turn it into a 1X it will be $75 in parts. 2. If you want we can leave it on the center sprocket and disable the shifter. 3. We can do a trade-in and it will cost you $463 to get into a Marlin. I said I'm not spending $463 more dollars, not disabling the front shifter, and just to clarify you want $75 to turn it into a 1X ? The response I got was yes plus labor for the installation. I said no way! If you were willing to work with me here and you cover labor maybe I'd be ok with the $75 in parts. She said no your an adult and you need to take some responsibility here. She also said If you would have come to within a week we could have done something. Great to hear! How professional after all I've explained went wrong. Over charging me $50 over MSRP, not giving fair trade in on a bike they sold me, charging to make right, not being able to assemble and adjust a bike correctly in the first place. Best of all Deb's new attitude! Brian has always been super cool maybe it's my fault for not asking to speak with him directly but Deb claim's she spoke to Brian and these options came from him directly. Freeride / Deb stated if you would have brought it back within a week or so we would have given you your money back or put all of it towards something else, I call BS! I think even saying that just shows you what there all about we could have worked with you to fixed this problem, but now we wont. The 45 days vrs. 7 days matters how? It's been a much hard 45 days for us I promise you, my sons live with me every other week, this son Luke (Trek bike) has been battling cancer now for over 2 years and has been in the hospital and had surgery over these 45 days. I bring up the cancer only because my family time is limited and valuable and not being respected by Freeride. I purchased the bike 12/17/21 and gave to Luke on Xmas, the convo with Deb took place 2/4/22. I used to trust Freeride for Advice, Sales, and Service. I'm looking forward to hearing from Brian. I'm hoping he's not aware of these fact's and is willing to make this right he's always been a stand up guy in fact a year or more after buying a couple cruisers my girl friend and I walk in and told him the bikes always fall over, with out hesitation he handed us two new kick stands saying sounds like the kick stands are too short.
