Freddie's used to be one of my favorites but I have been utterly unimpressed the last couple of tries. The fish pieces were small and greasy, the fries were almost nonexistent. The chicken strips my daughter ordered were just gross, over breaded, and terrible taste. Consistency is a key to a good restaurant and Freddie's has become dramatically inconsistent. Based on fairly high prices, paired with inconsistent and decreasing quality I couldn't recommend this place to anyone anymore. I hope that changes occur and improvements are made. read more

We have been in quite a few times and it was pretty nice. .Tonight, Sunday at 7 pm, went in and had dinner. Food was ok, except I didn't get any tomato on my sandwich, which to me is important on a fish sandwich. The waiter guy brought our food but never came back to check on us...all the guys there were more interested in getting all the clean up done so they could go home. In fact he never even brought the check. So the service on Sunday evenings suck! I may go back some day, but not going to rush. read more

So, I am not a fish fan, in fact most of my life I didn't eat fish. It wasn't until the last few years my wife convinced me to try fish again. So, we went to Freddy's. Now, I am still not a fish fan. Unless I catch it myself or get it from Freddy's I haven't been able to find any fish I liked. Their Salmon Caesar Salad is excellent, and best of all, good for you too! All their fish is freshly caught and prepared by people who have been preparing fish for a LONG time. All the fish we have ever gotten from there was done perfectly. They do have other things just in case you have a finicky person (like me) in the family. The people are nice, the atmosphere is light, and you can find all types of people in there from the church-goers on Sunday afternoon, to the couple just stopping by for a quick bite. It is definitely a place worth trying, and if you are fish lover, it is a must! And truly, who hasn't made the Halibut joke at least one in their life? We fell for the cutesy name! When we first walked in, some guy was like "oh, here comes some new people." Everyone looked up at us, kinda made us feel uncomfortable. While we waited for our food, 4 of the employees talked loudly about how bored they were and how they didn't get enough hours. They were swearing and trash talking the place, so again we felt uncomfortable. Despite our waitress being bored, she didn't stop by to see if we liked our food or if I needed a re-fill. We watched as they forgot to give some guy his soup in the take out he ordered. I expected the food to be kind of mediocre. I mean, a fish joint in a small town? Freddy's just recently changed ownership. The previous owners (and founders) had the best restaurant in town. Every piece of fish you ate was swimming in the Bering Sea no more than a week or two ago. The deep fried halibut was the best fried confection in the county. Now it's just okay. I imagine they took a lot of their recipes when they left. The new owners made some changes to the menu and upped the prices while the food just wasn't at the quality it used to be. I had the seafood sampler and, while good, was nowhere near as good as before. Freddy's was expensive before, but the food was worth it. Now? Not so much. Under the previous ownership I would've given them 6 stars if Yelp would let me. They'd get 3 if they hadn't changed their prices but still had the slightly lower quality food. It's still decent food but no longer the best, and with higher prices to boot? 2 stars. read more

I ordered the cod tacos with veggies as a side thinking that since it was a seafood restaurant they'd be good. What I got was tortillas with a single scrawny fishstick sitting on a pile of runny coleslaw (actually, more coleslaw than fishstick). My veggies had been microwaved but were tepid to icy...oh, and chewy. Heard the table next to us and something back because it was cold, too. Wife ordered the "fresh" ahi tuna sandwich. If it were not for the over salting, it would have been bland. Her microwaved veggies were surface of the sun hot (hot spots in their microwave, maybe? ). My teenage daughter ordered the chicken tenders and French fries. This kid will inhale anything breaded (like the tenders) or made from potatoes (like the French fries) so when she pushed her plate back at about one-quarter done I asked her if there was something else I could get her. Her response was, "maybe a finger down my throat or the Heimlich maneuver?" I don't know if the is the best Longview has to offer, but I would definitely try elsewhere to see. read more

We had Alaskan Spotted Prawns, fresh Halibut and Chips, Razor Clams, Traeger Prime Rib, Clam Chowder and delicious crispy French Fries- plus they can make just about anything gluten free! They have seafood overnighted from Alaska- excellent service and a casual atmosphere. We will be coming back again. read more

We stopped in here today for some lunch, it was a great little surprise off of the beaten path. The fish was all fresh, and the atmosphere was really cool. Most of their seafood items were all fried. The waitress details of everything was flown in fresh and that the chef and one many awards for the preparation. I went here today and it took them 3 try's to cook my burger .. and they forgot to give us part of our meal . The fries were unseasoned and my burger was literally mooing at me . I told them I didn't want any blood and so when they re cooked it and had me check to see how it was again .. it was once again bloody & uncooked ! Celebrated a family event here recently and love this restaurant! The food was amazing and the wait staff very attentive and helpful. With our large party of 9, we were given all the time we needed to share stories over some of the best seafood in the area. The clam chowder is excellent and only topped by the crab chowder!
