I only shop at this store when I really don't have time to get to the Hillsboro Fred Meyers but then I always regret it because they never have what I need. The spice section has been out of Cumin for 6 months now even though I have complained about it. Every time we buy meat here it smells like it's turning or has turned already. They never seem to actually restock items. I have now stopped shopping from my last experience when they were advertising a sale for 2 items that I was interested it. I only went there for the sale and as you would guess, they had neither item in stock but of course they are still advertising on the radio for them. So my experience here was very up and down. I HATE riding negative reviews but I didn't want this to go on noticed.. for good and bad reason. Vanessa from the Electronics department has to be The most rudest and most impatient employee at any Fred Meyers I have ever been to. After buying an Xbox one I returned to purchase some more stuff on Christmas Eve. While I was waiting in line I was talking on the phone with my mother and she came up behind me and yelled "hello??? HELLLLOOO???" And I got out of her way. That is not an exaggeration that is actually how it happened and she was very rude about it. But then I started to get helped out by a very nice young gentleman named Tylar. Tylar was a very well mannered and extremely helpful when it came to helping me figure out what to get and the prices for everything. Even when I was checking out with Tylar, Vanessa was again being rude with other customers and they ended up getting upset and walked right out. If it wasn't for Tyler helping me and being such a nice helpful employee, I would've had to unfortunately have had to give a one star. I'm so surprised because Vanessa had a tag that said "been here since 2003" and I'm just still wondering how she's still employed even after the way I see here treat her customers. Even when she was helping me I tried to cheer her up and tell her "I understand it's Christmas Eve and it's busy. So I understand if you need me to wait." The gas station has honestly gotten so bad idk what happened I used to always get gas there and multiple times this year I get rude employees and waiting FOREVER to get gas, think I'll be getting my gas elsewhere from now on. I was a supervisor for Fred Meyers many years ago. This is a nice store. We shop here and have for 18 years. They constantly run out of ad items on Sunday. It is very frustrating. SENIORS BEWARE - Every first Tuesday at Freddies is Senior (55+) 10% discount. I am well over 55 with white hair and wrinkles. After checking out today I noticed I did not receive a Senior discount and was told I needed to ask to get it. I had checked out on Senior day before and automatically gotten the discount, I thought my age was part of the info with my Fred Meyer Rewards card. The clerk who checked me out, who did not have another customer, told me that since I had 7 items I would have to go to customer service to get a refund. I waited behind one customer and got a refund for 6 of the items I bought. So I got in line again and waited behind two customers and got a refund for the seventh item. Bad on Fred Meyers for the transparent scam to avoid giving senior discounts and the poor, poor customer service after. read more

I live 5 mins away from the Scappoosse Fred meyers. Went there all the time to shop. Anytime we have gone to the store, this one especially, there has never been a time where i have seen a happy employee, or even a friendly one at that. Most of the employees are hostile, aggressive and grumpy while at work. When i go to the customer service desk, the ladies there are either stressed out or just hate there job and it shows in their demeanor and in their face. My fiancee went in one night to get a few things and an employee of the store was walking down the same aisle and was on his phone, not paying attention, he pretty much ran into her. When the incident happened, he turned around and said "excuse me". (He was in full uniform also). I have come to realize that customer service is a lost art at this Fred Meyers. I have not been back since and will not go back. (May not matter being a big, rip off company), but i can only hope they realize customer service is the buisness those chose to work in. Tired of Rude people! What has happened to customer service? Cashier was irritated speaking with another employee about getting "stuck all the way down here alone" My turn came and she did not notice my own FM bag in cart and had put only the coffee in a plastic bag I said "oh I'm sorry I have my bag here" Still irritated apparently, she glowered at me and took it out and continued checking me out. Now I have just had cancer surgery on my face two days ago you cant miss it...and I may be a little irritated my self, but I do not expect to be treated so poorly at a store that I go to several times a week and spend a lot of my hard earned money in. She also had a BBQ fork I had purchased sticking straight up out of the bag not wrapped in anything and did not warn me to watch out for it.
