Sometimes, you just need a trip through a dollar store! The Portland locations leave a lot to be desired these days - stores are in a disarray, low stock, lots of blatant stealing - so when I'm in the burbs and see a Dollar Tree, I venture in. This store was clean and well stocked. All the Valentine's Day items were out. The aisle that has parchment paper, Reynolds wrap and sandwich bags as full, which is never the case in NE Portland. Food and snack aisles were plentiful as were the crafts. Picked up some boxes of sweet-n-low and a few Hallmark greeting cards So it was worth stopping in. Parking is easy and they are right next to Bargain Market so you can hit two discount stores at once. read more

I have not been much of a Dollar Tree consumer over the years. This one is in a shopping center I go to freakin' all the time now ( Zero Degrees, Du's Teriyaki, Mio Sushi, The Thai restaurant with the killer tofu salad rolls, Burgerville, Petsmart , Mazatlan). The parking lot is hellacious. It is driver's ed movie on steroids kind of scary. There is also a Grocery Outlet, a bar, a vet, a bank, a mediocre Chinese place , a newer I think Taiwanese trendy shaved ice/snack place we have not tried, and a dry cleaner. I have mostly used the dollar store for getting helium filled $1 mylar balloons, party supplies like plates and cups, gift bags, and cheap bday cards. Especially when I was the birthday fairy for my former job. Now that I telecommute and my kid no longer has those agonizing but awesome kiddie birthday parties, I do not have to do that so much. Amen. My teen tho? whole 'nother story. I never know what the teen and the BFF will emerge with, brandishing like it was buried treasure and they are victorious adventurers. This time while I went and got food, teen was sent in with $5 to get a shower curtain ( our adorable but diabolical cat thinks they're for him to shred so no point buying fancy ones it just hurts our hearts), dish towels ( same issue), makeup wipes, and eyeliner. I wasn't specific enough about wanting 3 two- packs of dish towels and got one dishtowel with a coffee theme ( I mean, cute but I needed four). The kid also emerged with two glittery gel face makeup thingies. Ok. Teen has always found many things there . The paternal person aka my ex is always warning against cheap imported goods and their safety, sending us Zero Hedge articles and warning against cancer and rice with plastic pellets in it, etc. So I have tried to steer my kid away from things that are iffy. Recent finds are adorable nesting boxes with butterflies,soft fuzzy socks, gloves, beanies, cheap hair accessories, storage containers, movie sized candy ( are those ACTUALLY Milk Duds??), notepads, and ballpoint pens. ( those last were not great). So I guess I am stuck going here on occasion. I wonder if the kid and the cat are in cahoots... read more

Glass cleaner, kitchen degreaser, parchment paper, aluminum foil and plastic wrap, toothbrushes, single bottles of soda; all of these I've found in the Dollar Tree locations I've visited, from Alameda (California) to Edmonton (Alberta, Canada) to Beaverton (Oregon). I've even found their $1 Santoku chef's knife, the one with the black plastic handle, to be reasonably sharp and perfect for stocking kitchens while I'm traveling. The nested mise en place bowls, available here in both small and large sizes, are used in my kitchens every day. The $1 greeting cards have saved my buns a couple of times, and now that I think of it, my budget as well. I can't comment on the foods they offer, but I've seen customers happily filling up their carts with them, so I'll venture to say they're satisfied. There's also the rows of party supplies that we don't often get, but it's good to know they're out there. read more

Complete rude customer service. After being in line for about 5 minutes BJ rings up my purchase I ask why it's more and he goes into this long winded explanation about the cost for a bag. But instead of first saying that he rudely pointed at the bag like I was an idiot and I said well people forget you should have a sign as most stores do. He proceeds to argue with me loudly in a line full of customers to where another customer interjected and he starts whooping it up with her and them scolding me saying I was being rude. Who the heck argues with a customer and then tells you they are a manager when you ask for one? Totally unacceptable will never spend a penny here after that treatment read more

For a dollar store this one is pretty good. A lot of their selection is pretty predictably dollar quality, but in the dishes aisle they have some amazingly cheap deals, i just got a pint glass with cute fruits on it for $1. Review written on December 30th, 2019: Came here looking for decorations for New Years. Asked an employee where we could find a certain product and told us to "ask the manager, her name is ________." Would've been better to ask the manager herself, or even tell us that she has no idea instead of showing no interest in helping. All the cashiers need to smile more. I genuinely feel bad for Lori, while she's busy filling balloons for an indecisive customer, the rest of the employees here allow customers to stand unattended in line for 15 minutes. The photo attached is of two standing, gossiping about "Heidi getting fired" while I stood mere feet from them, waiting to be helped. 4 other employees AND a manager to be exact chose not to help. Props to Lori for working with such an unsupportive staff, who literally ran from the balloon stand to the register to help ring me up, apologizing that I had to wait. Some people shy away from shopping here, maybe it's because some of the products are not up to their quality. This location is much larger and cleaner than the other Dollar Trees in the area. That maybe true, but there are some decent items you can purchase from here as well - such as aluminum foil, trash bags, bleach and other cleaning supplies, plastic bags, gift wrap, disposable cutlery, balloons and some school supplies. AND it's only $1 (I'm glad there's no tax here! *whew*) Granted, you get what you pay for. But overall, it's cheap and I'm not complaining! =) read more

This Dollar Tree is very memorable. I find myself going back at least once a week to get things for the house. The prices are so low I can at least get my basics, due to my low income. I love Dollar Tree. I can wander around in these store and buy $5.00 worth of junque (thats boutique junk in case you didn't know). Theres always something I didn't know I needed to take home. However yesterday I actually had a reason...I buy my reading glasses at the dollar store instead of paying $50.00 at the Optical Store or $19.00 for 3 pair at Costco. A buck a piece for average reading glasses. Thats hard to beat. I know that, if they haven't stocked the stand of glasses recently there might not be many glasses on it. Ask the manager and she pulls out the big box of glasses and lets you go thru them yourself. Isn't that great? It's great for me at least. I also picked up "Holiday Cards" for a dollar, wrapping paper, tissue paper..lots of it..and a couple of candles. Then I wandered thru the food department and picked up spaghetti sauce, potato chips, munchies for grand daughter, and a couple other things..I ended up with a full basket and spent $15.00. The Dollar Tree is great. Especially this one where the manager is so very accommodating to the customers. read more

Let's see, what can you buy for $1? Pretty much anything. Literally. You can buy pregnancy tests (not sure how accurate that would be) to marijuana drug testing. I get a lot of things for holiday gifts for my work here. Yes, I'm a gifter, but I don't like spending a lot of money. I don't know if I would personally buy certain things here, but hey, whatever you need they have it. The only down side is there is usually only one register open and a long line. I feel like they are usually understaffed which is a bummer because I don't like to wait behind screaming babies. read more

It's the Dollar Tree. They sell things for a dollar. Pretty basic thing and hard to get wrong. The service is always good and I appreciate their supply of food/drinks. Cheaper than Safeway but not as cheap as the neighboring Grocery Outlet. They also have some surprisingly retro candy like Fun Dip, Snowcaps, Nerds, etc. Of course not everything is a deal. Their 2 for $1 hangers are the same quality as the Target 12 for $1.49 hangers but they do offer home basics like toilet brushes and cleaning buckets for $1. I've never met anyone who needs fancy schmancy toilet brushes so this place gets points for offering something so necessary at such a great price. read more

They have good stuff but customer service could definitely improve.. the girl who checked me out yesterday at around 3pm didn't say hello, didn't even look me in the eyes or anything.. when she finished scanning my items she just looked the other way and waited for me to swipe my card didn't say the total or anything and then once I was done doing that in an awkward silence, she grabbed the bag of my things and said "here you go" and I said "thank you" and she just moved on to the next person still not saying anything to them either.. it was extremely awkward and made me feel like she hated me for being there. Didn't like it at all. All I got was some hangers and a little plastic skull Halloween decoration so it wasn't like I was an annoying customer or anything. The items were good though! read more

I've never been to Dollar Tree before, but I'm so glad I checked it out. They have so many things to buy for $1. Kitchen utensils, ziploc bags, bathroom products, snacks, cleaning supplies, party supplies, hair accessories... You name it! Too bad at home we already bought a lot of our household products back home in Hawai'i or else I would've bought them here! It would've saved us a LOT of money. We ended up spending $23 , which of course is 23 items! If we would have bought these items anywhere else it probably would total up to double that amount. The 8x8 baking pan alone costs $7.99 at Ross! The quality of their products seem okay. I didn't see anything wrong with them. Perhaps they are cheaply made? I guess only time will tell how the items hold up, but so far so good! I can't wait to shop here again. read more

Big selection of actually good stuff that I find hard only costs a dollar. Unlike all the other dollar stores I've seen, this place actually has some good stuff, which makes one pause for a moment and wonder why. At least it isn't being sold out of the back of a van, parking lot or in someones yard. I actually didn't purchase anything because there wasn't anything that I had to have. Just wondered into the store because it recently opened and wanted to see what it was like. It does have a big selection of food, canned and frozen. Makes one wonder about the quality.
