I hate to sound like I am clutching my pearls but it was just a bit odd that on a Sunday afternoon there were creepers lingering around the front. I appreciated an ADA parking spot I can practically toss myself in the door so close but when there are a pile of rando people loitering, that just gets awkward. It felt like a regular issue too. Like I said, awkward. I do appreciate the amount of things you can get at Walgreens that are groceries and such. Their lighting and look make you feel strung out though seriously. I do like the location of this store though since it is very easy to get in and out of the parking lot.

So I promptly pointed out the binding machine that was literally beside her and said ok, what do you use the binding machine for there? She said well yeah we do that but I wouldn't know how to charge you for that service, and I don't know how to do it. Then she said I needed to show her on the website where it says they offer the service, so I pointed it out to her and she said yeah, no. I don't know what to charge you and I don't know how to use it. Then blankly stared at me. I asked if anyone else knew how and she said "I don't know" worst customer service. Don't come here if you want someone capable of helping you. Or a working brain cell.

And when the store itself is dirty, cluttered, and clearly not being maintained, it makes that kind of treatment feel even more insulting. When a business expects customers to follow rules, they don't even uphold themselves, it erodes trust fast. You deserved basic courtesy, a clean environment, and a little common sense from the staff. As a business and not having a garbage for your customers is disgusting. Then once again to tell a customer to leave your property to throw something away is so disrespectful. I can't see or family ever wanting to use your business again. Do better

Secondly - I started watching Ted Lasso again this week, and I really want to be curious and not judgmental but damn this store really, really makes that hard. The parking lot is empty. Ok. thats fine, this should be easy then. I look all over for a waste basket as I walked a mile up with a coffee to get this passport photo after specifically looking online. If there is one thing I hate most in life is wasting my time with capitalism. Not a single waste basket in the parking lot. This area has been high foot traffic for neighborhood loitering - so maybe that makes sense. Upon entering - no waste basket. I really want to just litter in the store. There is no employee upfront. The photo section is in its usual place. This place is eerily silent. Did i literally jump from Ted Lasso to the Last of Us on my walk up here? I walk over towards the photo area and a guy in shorts and a shirt carrying a product says hello to me, like he works there. I think - wow - even the customers here are crazy. I get up to the photo area and a tumbleweed goes blowing by. (Not really, but it seemed like a scene in an old western. I notice that this photo area is tore up. There are consoles that have clearly been removed, but nothing has been touched up. The guy who belongs more at the beach than working in retail is now up at the front cash register milling about. I'm looking around for where the heck is the white background for the photo. I press the "i'm begging for someone to be paying attention to customers" button and the entire store is notified that oops, they did it again - and aren't doing their jobs. The wayward customer makes his way back over and asks me if I am picking something up. Now I deserve an award for holding back, because i really wanted to inquire as to why he felt it appropriate to report to work dressed like that without any professional indication he works there - but instead I skipped to - I'm here for a passport photo. "Oh thats been broken a long time". Hmmm. Ok. "Your website says you do them here." "(I don't remember what dumb words he said, because I just thought wow - this place has totally given up.) Sure Amazon and the online world have zapped the marketplace, but have some g'damn self respect to run a store worth visiting. Walgreens should immediately remove this location from their brand because one thing is evidently clear is that no one that works within these four walls gives a duck about anything. I thought for a minute that maybe the real employees were being held hostage in the back, and I ran into the evil, maniacal criminal mastermind in shorts working the heist out front - so if this makes the news tonight - oopsie. At least I got a decent walk in and got to think about this review on my way back for 23 minutes. I'm sorry Ted Lasso, I'll start over the Lasso Way tomorrow.

Service could be better, I think folks are over worked or tired. The music in the pharmacy area is too loud and it's hard to hear the techs when they talk to you. For starters, their online inventory never matches what's in store and I think every order I've ever placed has had at least one item out of stock. Even if you select an alternative, it seems like more often than not the alternative is also out of stock so you end up with nothing. I get that this can be an issue at all stores but Walgreen's is exceptionally bad at it. There are frequent long lines and they no longer open additional registers. Back in pre Covid days, if a long line started to form at the front, they would have someone open a register back at the photo counter or over at the beauty counter. Not anymore! Lastly, the store does not keep up with basic maintinence. The store was absolutely sweltering this evening with not even a hint of AC and their refrigeraters were also warm. When asked how long the fridges had been down, we were told it had been two weeks! Gross! Do better Walgreens, we know you have the $$$!

My regular pharmacy (Freddy's) told me they were out of my insulin and I would have to wait until tomorrow, but I was totally out, and as you can probably guess, this isn't a medication I can just skip for a day or any length of time. I went to Providence Urgent Care at Tanasbourne, but they were closed. As a last ditch effort before having to go wait all night at the ER, I crossed my fingers and walked in here instead. Since I had used them before, I was at least in their system. The pharmacist listened and was patient with me (I couldn't remember my doctor's name since I just switched and haven't seen her yet) but she tried to locate it in the system. Finally I remembered and told her, and she placed a call to the after hours number and had the on call call her back. I waited an hour, and despite them not even being my pharmacy any longer, they gave me a single pen to last me until I could get a proper refill. Saved me from a night of pain and possible need to call an ambulance.

I assume they hire from the bottom of the barrel as there is nothing on their shelves. Take it from me, skip this place if you value dignity or privacy. The pharmacist decided to make their own new long lunch break while the line of sick people standing around just grows. This is unacceptable. There's no sense that they're truly conscious or if they're in a collective fugue state where their bodies function, but the brains aren't processing information correctly. Just as an example, I went there yesterday for some cough syrup and found that the few employees were much too occupied wandering around to help with the giant line. And the one line had some lady there who had taken so long she sat down while the cashier read aloud to her the prices of every lighter behind the counter. I walked over to the register, put the cough syrup down to leave. As I left, I asked the young security dude if there was a manager who worked there. I was curious if anyone was in charge or if this was some kind of elaborate Andy Kaufman-style comedy bit designed to make people lose their minds. I didn't actually say that, but when I asked if a manager or supervisor works there, he reacted as if it's the first time the words of another human being had entered his ears. The confusion and bewilderment on his face filled my heart with great sadness for the future of the human race. Long story short: this Walgreens will be joining New Seasons on my boycott list. It's truly one of earths most cursed physical locations.
