Before there was Nike (Adidas, Keen, Danner, Martens, LaCrosse, Posh Rebook, Rogue and others), there was West Coast Shoe Company. When Oregon was wilderness, they made logger boots, the famous "cork boots". They evolved their bootmaking to supply workers who climbed our hydro-fed electrical towers, smoke jumpers - fighting forest fires, volunteer firefighters and motorcyclists needing wind and crash proof boots. If you need a pro boot for any of those, there is literally no where else in the world to get it. What's pro? For a logger, a boot with spikes for working in 14 hours a day. Tree climber, a boot with good support. High voltage electrical worker, good support and electrical insulation that could save a life. Firefighter, flame and heat resistance with hours of support. Cyclers, extra leather by the clutch and crashworthiness. If you are a warehouse worker, steel toes for saving feet. Wesco makes all of those in standard and custom. They also have a new women's line, Van Spijker, which is very steampunk and priced for countesses. All of their boots are available in off the shelf standard sizes, custom made with every option and in their outlet - which you can visit here or on the Internet. Sizes run large. I can't yet afford their boots. They do maintain their value in the secondary market though. They are a great candidate for your relatives who are countesses, hedge fund uncles who ride a 40K Harley or a vintage Indian, or people that want the best boot made in the USA. If your industrial job has a super generous shoe allowance, maybe. In fact encourage them to up the allowance for US made and local. There are plenty of second level workboots but these are not them. Wesco boots can be returned to the craftsman in Scappoose, Oregon for a complete rebuild from the bottom up at a fraction of the price of new. The people who buy them expect it. Expect it too. A world class specialty shoemaker in a little Oregon town.

Love the boots, I have 4 pairs and will get more. Actually that's why I am writing this, called today and they always pick up but the will redirect you to a line that doesn't pick up and then you end up playing phone tag for days and I live like 8 miles away... it's frustrating that you pay as much as you have to for custom boots and get the run around every time. Also they should try to figure out how to keep the heels from falling off, it happens way more then should be normal. Customer service needs some work

My first pair of boots as an apprentice High Voltage Lineman, 20 years ago were Wesco......after taking a short break from linework, to run my own business..... its time to get back into the High Voltage trade...... and I looked no further than Wesco again. We just moved to the Hillsboro area and what a pleasant surprise to learn they are 25 minutes from my house. With all the Covid 19 BS, the showroom is by appointment only and after a couple emails with Chris, I called and made an appointment for the next day at 1pm and was given perfect instructions on needing a mask and making sure I hadn't been around any sick people...... NO Problem...... Chris even gave me his cell phone number so I could call when I reached the building and could have the boots I wanted ready and waiting. I cant say enough good things about the service and the quality of my new boots, just like they have been for 100 years....... what a beautiful facility that is SPOTLESS clean, with everything laid out like the eye candy it is....... and that leather smell!!! Fantastic quality and service is so hard to find these days, its amazing to see that Wesco hasn't sacrificed any of either. Thank you Chris..... Thank you Wesco. Read those ridiculous bad reviews carefully...... use your brain people..... its a hand made product, from the hide of an animal........ be willing to wait for something that is made by a human....... otherwise go buy yourself one of the cheap boots that won't last nearly as long and cant be rebuilt.

The man who sold me this pair of Hoka One One is perhaps the most vivacious, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and happy person I have ever met in a shoe store. He is the antithesis of Al Bundy. I have been hiking my entire vacation out here in Portland, clocking something like 40 miles in five days. (don't judge if you're a big-time hiker. I'm just getting started. I need time for tattoos, meeting my cousin for the first time, and other vacation type stuff) anyway the point is my feet are tired. Hoka is to feet what Visine is to a stoner's eyes. So I went in there. This guy was like a super happy positive ant lion. There was no possible way I was leaving without a pair of shoes, less I endure the sight of his bright smile faltering for just one second. And I don't regret it. But there's more. You see I missed my flight this morning because of a delay and the airline had to reschedule it all, and comp me a hotel room near this shopping mall. So instead of going home today, I'm stuck next to 20 acres of retail, which thankfully includes bars. Four margaritas in, I'm wandering around again and I see him walking a couple out. Each has the exact same bag that I had, with the same blue box emblazoned with the same brand. They are praising him for his knowledge and thanking him for the $600 they just dropped. Corporate, if you're reading this, this dude is regional manager material. I wanted to slap him high five, and yell, "Bro! Hoka! F@&k yeah!!" But that seemed like it would be a lot. And none of those three had been drinking margaritas all day. Anyway, point is, buy some shoes here.

I work from home the majority of the time but when I am traveling for work in standing on my feet so I'm perpetually looking for the most comfortable sneakers while I'm in the hospital/clinic, etc. I shared that with the sales lady during my visit and she made an excellent point. "Comfortable shoes aren't supportive shoes. And that's why you're here. You need supportive shoes." To which I was like ok but why must it be one or the other??? lol Bottom line- she fitted me in a shoe size I would NOT have picked for myself. It wasn't the most comfortable shoe. But I tried to just trust the process because I was in pain. So it was hard to be unbiased. What swayed me was it can't hurt to give it a try, the shoe I was leaning towards was cheaper than what was online, and they have a 90 day return policy. I have pretty much only worn these shoes in the last ~4 months. Heel pain is way less painful and the times that I have worn slip ons or some other crap shoe, that pain comes back. So I'm ready to get rid of all my shoes and only trust this woman. lol I highly recommend. And don't be put off like I was. I hate to admit it but at first appearance I thought it was just an "old lady shoe store." They don't have unlimited trendy options. But I'm there for support, not for cute or comfort. lol it is what it is. Accepting the aging process. Ps my shoe makes my foot look smaller. So that is a plus.

Great customer service! Would recommend this store for in depth knowledge on your personal needs…read more Not just an everyday shoe store.

I cancelled days before the next charge. No one explained the policy at that time, so I assumed I would not be charged (as when i explained i needed to cancel my membership before i was charged again so that i would not have that money taken out ofy account, no one stated i would still be charged anyway!) I started a membership a year ago, and even then, no one verbally explained cancellation policy. Apparently, you need to cancel 14 days before you are billed! I would have done so if i was told. That is a big deal! I am now in overdraft on my account, and have accrued an overdraft fee from the bank! I don't get paid until the end of September, as i am a teacher and that's when our next round of paychecks happen. I spoke to the owner, and she said I was emailed paperwork when i first signed up a long time ago. Well, i did not receive that. Maybe it was in my junk mail? AND, that was so long ago. People are not going to memorize/remember that info from that long ago on policies. She refused to refund the money taken out, and had no sympathy. I feel very differently about our locally owned salon, and will no longer be doing business there. (Im sure she doesn't care about that either)

The size we got was too big so we exchanged them 4-days later with now issues. He wore the new pair around the house and on one walk around the block and unfortunately got a blister on the top of one of toes. even with adjusting the buckles, he wasn't able to get a comfortable fit on the shoes. We tried to return them a few days later but were told by the owner that because they were worn outside he wouldn't be able to resell them and couldn't return them. He refused to provide an in-store credit saying it would be the same as giving us money back and how would that be fair to his business. His solution was for my husband to wear socks with the sandals. He has no return or refund policy posted at the counter or on his receipts so customers are aware that he won't take product back. Now I know how he can afford to open another business in Newberg. I was intentional about shopping here because I had been helped in a purchase of a pair of Birkenstocks only a few weeks prior to this purchase and loved my experience and the shoes I got.
