My new rink skates!
Shauna M.

I LOVE the new location on MLK. So much bigger than their old shop, and a more overall pleasant shopping experience. Plus a free indoor ramp to use. How cool is that!? Very limited parking, and it's always a little tricky getting back on to MLK, but there is street parking on the side streets if you really need it. I went in recently wanting to add a new pair of skates to my fleet and had very specific ideas about what I wanted. I tried on the skates I came in with every intention to buy, and I actually didn't like them at all. They pinched my feet in all the wrong places and just didn't feel right despite being able to try 3 different sizes. The person helping me (I didn't catch their name) suggested a few other pairs to try, and I found a pair that fit like a dream. They were not at all what I would have ever picked out for myself, but I am so glad I had their guidance because I LOVE them. I have also been in before to buy safety gear and a helmet, and also to get slide blocks installed (for free even!) since I needed the hanger bars bent. They are always happy to help. It pains me to have to minus one star for their gift card procedure, which is a bit clunky. It's an awkward back and fourth with invoices being sent to emails and selecting store pickup and it's just kind of a pain. I hope they can come up with a better system because I often direct people here when they ask what gift cards to get me. I don't mind too much, but I hesitate buying them for others because of the hassle. Lots of accessories and helmets and pads as well as wheels and laces and bearings and other skate goodies. If you want to use the ramp, you just have to sign a waiver and wear a helmet. Currently they only allow people to skate during weekday business hours but that might change in the future. You can also take lessons with their ramp coach if you want to try ramp skating! All in all a great local shop that I am happy to spend my money at.

Small skate shop but they know what they're doing. They asked the questions whether inside or outside skating and showed me which ones to choose from. Also, allowed to try on. I left with a pair to return to HI with! I heard they are moving so follow where they go and support this wonderful skate shop.

Just me enjoying the product

I grew up skating and then took a long break. I was a little nervous going into a shop as a tall awkward dad who's anything but cool. It's sad for me to assume this since I've never been to a dedicated roller skate shop, but I was kind of bracing for that rude condescending attitude that is so common in shops (think cycling, musical instruments, etc...). It's intimidating being new (again) at something and it's kind of a vulnerable thing to try on skates and almost fall in front of people. Also, everyone is bad at something before they are good so don't be discouraged! That being said, we had the absolute best experience I've probably ever had going into an athletic oriented shop. There was no ego, no rudeness, only warmth and kindness. Stomps helped us out, she was knowledgeable, honest and just such a perfect blend of kind and tough as nails! She (hope I got your pronoun right?) really knows her stuff, and she lives it as well as a top tier Roller Derby athlete. All that to say. Thank you, Stomps! You really opened up a new world of excitement for us and we feel like we are a part of a cool new community. PS- the first test went amazing. Loving my Riedell Zones!! Don't hesitate! Go here!!

Moonlight Roller Moon Boot. Thank you Five Stride!

I had a great experience finding my first pair of skates at this shop. It's small and intimate but packed with everything you dare to dream of. Staff was knowledgeable and patient as I tried on several brands. Finally picked the Moonlight Roller Moon Boot. Please give this shop a chance before you order online from some other company that has a months-long back order: ehhhmmm.....Moxie.

Great shop! First time visiting a skate shop in person and the people who worked there were super nice, knowledgeable, and helpful! Left with an amazing pair of skates. Definitely recommend this place!

The selection here is fantastic, with everything from jackets and hiking shoes to thermal gear and hats, all at factory outlet prices. I've found deals that beat most online discounts, especially during seasonal sales. The staff deserves a shoutout. They're genuinely helpful, not pushy, and always willing to check stock or help you find the right size. You can tell they actually use the products and know what they're talking about. The store is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate -- no digging through messy racks like some outlets. The checkout process is quick, and the team keeps the line moving even when it gets busy. Pro tip: Sign up for the Columbia Rewards program. I've scored some extra savings and early access to sales that make it worth it. Overall, this is one of the best outlet shopping experiences in the Portland area. Whether you're gearing up for a hike or just looking for a solid rain jacket (we are in the PNW), Columbia has you covered -- literally! LMAO

I was specifically hoping to find boots and/or a jacket. On top of having an entire floor full of clearance jackets, they also had about a dozen racks under tents outside of the store. It seemed like they probably had every Columbia jacket that had been made within the past few years. There was also a ton of Mountain Hardware and Sorel. The Mountain Hardware jackets were about 25-50% off, which was still significantly cheaper than REI or anywhere else that I know of. I ended up feeling so overwhelmed by the jacket selection that I decided I needed to do some research, and come back. I ended up leaving with two pairs of snow boots: 1 Columbia, and 1 Sorel. I got both pairs for $55, including tax and a very small roundup for the National Park fund. I've been looking for boots for a couple of weeks, and the cheapest I've found comparable boots anywhere else was anywhere from $69-129. So, I was beyond stoked to find two pairs I liked in the clearance section. They were also having a store wide BOGO half-off sale, which is how the total ended up so low. I didn't have, and have actually never had any of the issues with outlet stores that other people brought up in their reviews. I used to work at the outlets in Folsom. Most of the merchandise isn't damaged or defective-- it's just overstock or barely out of season. The boots that I purchased are honestly of similar quality to brand new boots from DSW. I just got really lucky (and have a seventh sense for when things will be on sale due to all my years of working in retail). Staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and I would definitely shop here again.

The store looks extravagant with lots of fancy interior arts, illustrations and shoe walls. There are apparel, shoes and some accessories sections. The fitting room area is also nice. As I explored the store, I saw a lot cool shoes, both for men and women. They were some of the newest model of sneakers. For apparels, they had the casual and workout gears. There was a small section for World Cup team merchandise. Prices of the items were Nike standard, on the higher end. The staff members at the store were friendly. Multiple of them interacted with us and also assisted with trying items in fitting room. We bought a Brazil Team's t-shirt. Checkout was quick and easy. As fancy as the store was, I found the variety of products less than most of the Nike stores I have been.
