The ATM malfunctioned and trapped both my debit card and my cash inside the machine. Ted was lazy, slow, and showed no sense of urgency. He didn't offer any helpful support numbers, didn't make any effort to assist me, and didn't even offer to put an out-of-service sign on the ATM to prevent the same thing from happening to someone else.
I wasn't expecting him to repair the ATM himself. I was expecting basic customer service, empathy, and someone willing to help during an incredibly stressful situation. Instead, I felt completely dismissed and disrespected.
Ted's problem-solving, customer service, communication, and leadership skills, especially as someone in a management position, were absolutely horrible and severely lacking. A manager should be able to communicate effectively, take initiative, and make a genuine effort to help resolve a customer's problem. Based on my experience, I genuinely don't understand how someone with such poor customer service and leadership skills is in a management position.
