Fred Meyer, enough is enough. Your bottle‑return system is a joke. We stand there wasting our time because every single coupon has to be "verified" by management, and half the time there aren't even enough employees on duty to handle it. That's on you -- you don't staff properly, you don't pay people enough to stay, and customers end up paying for it with our time. Fix it. Hire more people. Very small Fred Meyer off of Cornelius Pass. Lots of gardening stuff out now, but fall/winter clothing. I just needed groceries and it took over an hour to find things. Never found any non dairy yogurt, Propel Water (except single bottles). The have a nice bakery and you slice your own bread. Thankfully they had plastic bags and ties to put the bread into after you've sliced it. I had a hard time finding many things. The regular sized Rice Krispies Cereal were on the top of the shelves, while the family size was waist level. Too much for 2 of us to eat. AND I've been out of state for 18 months and am wondering why toilet paper is so darn expensive!! 4 rolls/$16? Has there been hoarding in Oregon again? It's 3 times more expensive than almost every other state. I'll shop from Fred Meyers again, but not this store. read more

I loathe and despise grocery shopping in my neighborhood. Ok, really everywhere. I realized it is for two reasons. First I hate people ( ok I really don't, you know I don't, but after dealing with them for all of a ten hour day in my therapist job, I have zero patience left). Secondly, I do not have one favorite store I can go to to get ALL the things. Frustrating. It's a shopping combination of Costco, Trader Joe's, the produce store, the Franz bread store, Uwajimaya, the butcher, New Seasons, and QFC because my kid likes their organic 1% milk the best. (Also it is closest to us). This Fred Meyer is less awful than the one on Walker and 158th and about the same distance from my house. The parking lot is not terrible if you stay away from the south side by Pho Tango. There is a Starbuck's inside AND one outside. I'd avoid the bottle return. There's a decent U-scan. The aisles are pretty wide. They rearrange it fairly often which I find annoying. I could not find the bread section at 9pm or a person to ask and I'd already sent my kid to find catfood in an effort to maximize efficiency ( the kid disappeared to find sports bras too,not so efficient, sigh) . I grabbed a loaf of sourdough off an endcap and called it good. Some things are a lot cheaper than QFC. Especially with your "card". Also you can use your QFC card here if your Freddy's card is shredded like mine. There are plenty of organics and specialty items ( microbrews and kombucha on tap), a huge wine section, household goods, clothing, shoes, a bakery, stationery, toys, bikes, auto stuff, a nursery, flowers, all the things. Too many THINGS. If you are on a budget like me ( single mom, social worker) leave your shopper foodie clotheshorse teenager at home. We got it done in an hour. Forgot a few items. But I do not plan to shop again for at least a week. Those slowwwwwww shoppers, you know, the ones who stand in front of the only Greek yogurt you want looking dazed and confused for inordinate amounts of time, they're out at night, too!! HOLY! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE that I've received in a hot minute. If any one misses family conflict due to covid and wants to call the floral department to get lectured during the holidays. Be my guest. I've never had someone raising their voice to me over the phone while I'm asking about their inventory. Due to the high volume of people in the stores, I'd rather check in to see if they had some special plants for the holidays; but instead got an ear full. I also had a friend stop by to gift a plant for her mom and had a plant taken away from her; shoved behind the front desk and then ignored as she asked when it would be ready. Since the worker was instead busy taking photos of said plant and stashing it away in the corner. (Worker's name is Mary Smalley/Smailey) So I definitely wouldn't recommend this establishment unless you wanted to get treated like a 2nd class citizen. See ya later grinch! read more

I'm going to start this off by saying this review is going to have some gross/TMI parts ahead. You've been warned. I am not a Fred Meyer grocery shopper. The prices are high, the sales are minimal and I can always find the same or similar items for cheaper elsewhere. My mother however is a huge Fred Meyer shopper and pretty much only shops there when she is in town. She was visiting for Christmas and stopped by the Imbrie Freddy's to pick up some snacks to serve at our Christmas Eve Buffet. One of the items she picked up were some of the deli made deviled eggs. When she arrived to my house, we put them in the fridge and completely forgot to set them out for our buffet. After my family left, I found them and decided to endulge. I love deviled eggs and have never met one I didn't like but these ones tasted.... off. The outside was rubbery and the filling was.... tangy and sour. The sell by date on the package was 12/24 and that was the day I was eating them so I figured they were ok, freshness wise. I could only manage to eat one (1/2 egg) before I decided that I just couldn't do anymore due to the taste. I went to bed for the night. I was awakened early Christmas morning to a rumbly in my tumbly and before I knew it, I was projectile vomiting all over my bathroom. This lasted for a good 45 minutes. I had some of the worst abdominal cramps in my life. It was terrible. I finally managed to get back to bed for a few hours but when I woke up, I still felt awful. Later in the evening, things got worse. SEVERE abdominal cramps, diarrhea, nausea, more vomiting, etc ect. We are now three days out from Christmas and almost 4 days out from when I ate the tainted eggs and I have been butt sick every single day since. We are talking up several times a night to run to the toilet and cramps so bad it feels like my stomach is going to explode. I was the only person in my entire family to eat the eggs and the only person who got sick. I know it was the nasty eggs and will therefore never eat any prepared foods from Freddy's again. read more

I have been a card carrying fan of Fred Meyer stores ever since I moved to Oregon, twelve years ago. I really like the fact that "Freddies" as locals call it, combines a complete grocery store with a department store, enabling it's customers to purchase almost anything needed in one store. I have visited many different locations of Freddies and have enjoyed them all. This location happens to be closest to my home so I probably visit it most often. I always have a pleasant time shopping at this Freddies. The store is always clean with good lighting, fully stocked with merchandise, well organized and neat. I like the atmosphere here. In addition to a complete grocery store, this Freddies offers an in store Starbucks, jewelry store, pharmacy, banking, cameras and electronics, optical department, one hour photo, home decor and home improvement, garden shop, sporting goods, toys, bakery and deli. There is also clothing, shoes and accessories for the entire family. There is child care available while you shop. There is an EV charging station and a gas station. There is red box just inside the entrance. They offer many services at the customer service desk including western union, check cashing and ticketmaster. There is free Wi-fi, gift registry, coin star and an atm. There is plenty of parking and bus 47 stops nearby. read more

Ok so I have made many mistakes in my life. And unfortunately one I have made more than once is not having the house in "acceptable" condition when the wife returns with (or without) the kids from an extended time away. They are returning tonight and I have made every effort to keep the house neat, clean, and I made sure I went to the store so we won't have to eat out immediately. I got a list ready, yes the notepad application on my iPhone is pretty handy. I checked them off one by one. Checked the eggs to be sure not cracked, I actually went to Albertsons on the way home to get the correct brand of a couple things. After I was done, I walked to the checkout. There were extensive lines as there was only one register open next to the self checkout stations. I noticed there was a young lady leading a customer to a register. I slipped behind them and slid into the queue as well. The cashier wasn't very positive however. I am not going to go into details. I brought my own (Amazon Prime) paper bags. Whoop whoop!! Finally remembered to take (and use). The gentleman who was bagging my stuff didn't really do so well though. I was a cashier for a long time and I was an A+ bagger (toot toot). Anyway I let him do what he did. I thanked them and scooted a couple registers over and reorganized the bags. read more

This Fred Meyer location is pretty convenient for the place I am working at so I can run in during lunch and grab some staples or after work. The convenience of Fred Meyer is the one stop shopping. I have grabbed plants, some groceries, an article of clothing and kitchen gadgets before. They do send me some pretty ok coupons. Pretty recently I have been doing a lot of OT so the one stop shop can come in handy. I had a few things I wanted to cook towards the end of the week. I picked up a few items I needed that were more uncommon for the groceries. I also needed some cleaning supplies - they offer a lot more of the convenient wipes like stainless steel wipes or windex wipes plus I also needed to do some handwashing for my laundry - ohhh look a few different fancy options like one that was a rose handwash for laundry. I have found some pretty cute clothing for cheap here - even a dress for the Red Dress party in Portland for like $15 - it was perfect! I was heading straight over to a friend's birthday party after work and boom - grabbed the perfect gift bag, card and some treats to serve up for her movie night to celebrate her birthday. I was able to find some perfect things for displaying snacks to give as her gifts too but there I would have had a lot of different options also for gift giving since they have some pretty cute housewares and all sorts of stuff. Where Fred Meyer gets a bit sketchy is the price tag but, it really is being mindful and trying to use their coupons and rewards points when you can and then you can save a bundle or knowing what to buy here and what to save your money on. Where they really do you right is flowers. Seriously - all locations seem to have top quality in floral but their prices are amazing. I buy bundles and then bring them home and make some amazing bouquets. I buy roses usually for under $10 for some top quality roses. read more

This FM has always been my go to place to shop, but now that they installed gates at all the exits and have people who accost you on your way out for a receipt, I don't know if I'll be back. This isn't a shitty area where people steal constantly and it's also not some trashy Walmart or Costco... so why the hell should I have to show you a receipt to prove I'm not stealing. The online ordering is horrible here. I've ordered pickup orders three times, every time it was missing items. I had to go in and shop for them myself, negating any convenience. My first delivery order was more than two hours past the delivery window. It was supposed to be here between 2 and 4pm, it FINALLY at 6:20pm, missing items! I guess I'll stick with Walmart+. I grew up in Portland where we shopped at Fred Meyer weekly. It was a fun filled outing. That was back when Fred Meyer was really a everything store with no hidden/ scam deals. Now Fred Meyer is a Joke and if they acquire Safeway and Albertsons it will even be a bigger joke. Until then I will do most of my shopping at Safeway, Walmart, and Winco; where pricing is actual pricing. Today I purchased Chex Mix, A big sign indicated it was $1.49, Oh but in fine little print it said "if you purchase 5". Why was that not in large print?Then I purchased Peppers that said $4.99 and yet at the register they rang up at $5.99. two other things I purchased were also miss marked. If I use my Fred Meyer Credit card it should not have to be scanned. Anything special or on sale should automatically be uploaded to my credit card. I should not have to go to Fred Meyer to pick up a circular to see what is digital. I will no longer recommend Fred Meyer as good place to shop. This used to be our "go-to" grocery store. Now, once you finally make it through the line, you have to bag your own groceries while the cashier hurries you along. I'm sure they are short staffed, but the cashier could lent a helping hand bagging Instead of just impatiently waiting for you to be done. With free WiFi, a large store offering, TWO sections of self-checkout, a home/garden, electronics, jewelry shop, clothing, bank, pharmacy, even a CHILDREN'S DAYCARE at Fred Meyer (yes, a place where a member of staff will watch your children while you shop!) -- How in the hell is this place getting 2-star average just because, say, the recycling center outside has a long line? So yeah, let's talk background for a sec; Fred Meyer is an establishment linked to parent company Kroger, which mind you is so big of a grocery organization that they have presence in APAC markets like Mainland China through partnerships with Alibaba; so you know Fred Meyer is well-funded to begin with. With strong digital transformation forked well into their business strategy, you can see it first-hand as a consumer; free WiFi at all their stores (at least the ones I've been to so far), abundant parking, a mobile app that spits out coupons at you in realtime and tracks all your purchases so you don't have to hang onto those pesky receipts, not to mention the app telling you EXACTLY which aisle number a product is in including the ability to self-serve backorder an item if it's out of stock, not to mention the free recycling center outside... I'm not here at Fred Meyer to stream on Twitch, I'm here to just simply check my Fred Meyer mobile app to make sure I'm getting the best deals via digital coupons and such. The free Fred Meyer WiFi is enough to get that job done. Free recycling center outside; I've seen a number of reviews bashing this place with a 1-star average just because of the recycling center outside. First off, why people be bitching about free stuff?! If you really can't take long lines, go try California, China, or India. Then you'll see what real long lines are like. This is nothing. Go get a BottleDrop bag if you're that lazy; I have lazy days too, that's what the bags are for, spend $2 for 10 bags, fill your bags up and just drop them into the chute to get your refund. Pharmacy, jeweler, electronics store, clothing department, home/garden, furniture section, and more; need I go on? Fred Meyer has it all. This isn't like Kroger's other establishments, like Ralph's in California or Fry's in Arizona with limited selections. Some Ralphs's stores in California JUST have groceries and NOTHING else, and the quality of product in some Ralph's stores in California are barely a step up from other stores like Sprouts Farmers Market. This place trumps it all. To disclaim, I've had one negative experience where I bought a bad red bell pepper. It looked good on the outside but when I cut it in the middle a lot of gross came out. Notified Fred Meyer social media teams, received a response within 12 hours, and was dealt with in a customer-forward manner. In short: 1. Fred Meyer rocks. 2. Fred Meyer has lots of features. 3. Fred Meyer is funded well by parent organization Kroger. 4. Fred Meyer's mobile app also rocks. 5. Shop at Fred Meyer. 6. Deli manager needs to have a refresher course with employees on hygiene while working behind the counter. Sneezing in the open food case. Not cleaning up the slicers regularly (food crumbs piled up). I use to be a hardcore winco only shopper but Fred Meyers won me over. I've been coming to this location for about 5 years now and a pretty big fan. I will say the pharmacy sucks...the main person who you speak with (heavier blonde female) is simply a turd. I LOVE clicklist, when they're out of something I ordered there substitutes are usually spot on and if not I don't have to accept it. Back in November I did have a hiccup when I ordered a frozen turkey and they were totally out (awesome deal). I expressed my dissatisfaction in the survey and a few days later they contacted me and totally made it more than right. read more

We shop 3 or 4 times a week and when we don't have to interact with the deli we would give Fred's 5 stars. Our last experience was with the deli. We don't know what it is about these customer facing jobs that produce grumpy staff but Whole Foods is the same way. If we had to guess we would say they are under staffed. We always have to wait. The waiting isn't so but if not for the utter chaos deciding who is next. For the sake of humanity and the discovery of lines 2000 years ago, get a numbering system or some sort of line. Ever time we need something from the deli it is an anxiety inducing experience. There have been times we just went without instead of dealing with the mess at the deli. Either be in busy to serve customers or close it down because what's going on here is not working. read more

One of the worst grocery stores I've ever been in. I don't know who organized this place, but it's ridiculous. Organic and environmentally friendly items are in a separate section. I work near this Freddy's and frequent it all the time. I had such excellent customer service today that I was inclined to leave a review, but for some reason the store wasn't *in* Yelp; my experience was so great that I added the store myself (with a little help from my boy Google, Big ups one love). Anyway, I go to Fred Meyer a lot for various things, and in my experience this place has very generous customer service and great prices. If you want to get a western union money order avoid doing it at Fred Meyers. Returning an unused, unneeded money order isn't possible. Even if you have the purchase receipt and money order receipt. They have no problem taking your money but will argue and decline to return it. IF an associate is willing to take the steps to initiate the return then one money order might go through but the second one will be denied. The reason for this is because they use a third party company that Isn't available to get into contact with in order to resolve the issue. The third party company will simply deny Fred Meyer the authorization to return the money order, So you will be stuck paying a 15 dollar fee to return the money order directly to western union which is beyond frustrating. read more

But that was a mistake Fred Meyer pharmacy has a total lack of communication and their drive through is never open. I think it's odd that the garden center has closed it's cash register for the season, so I was told today. So after a large cart is loaded up with outdoor garden potting soils and plants, you have to trek into the main part of the store to check out. Then trek back to where you would probably park over by the garden center. Not very convenient.l read more

Purchased a TracFone yesterday at this Fred Meyer store only to discover it couldn't be activated because TracFone is in the process of upgrading. Explains why the phone was 50% off. I also purchased a $100 airtime card. After 2 hours of working unsuccessfully with a TracFone agent I was unable to get the phone activated or clearly communicate (it was obviously a foreign CS agency) my address to have a new phone shipped. I decided to try to return the phone. Fred Meyers refused to accept return of the phone at first. Then when they realized the phone had been 50% off they agreed to take it back, but not the airtime card. What good is a TracFone airtime card without the phone?? Why are they still selling phones that don't work?? I chose to keep the phone and left the store very angry and bitter. I definitely feel ripped off by Fred Meyer. I guess I will try to get resolution from TracFone during the workweek when hopefully someone there will be speaking English. read more

Deli has top notch meat brands that have few additives and gluten free. They will slice to order no big deal. Very good selection of quality Italian cured meats. I love their grab and go bags of pre sliced meats and cheeses in case you don't have time to get it sliced. I will say they process a lot of people and if you go during rush times there is a wait but...they have so many clerks and self check outs it may look daunting but moves quickly. read more

This review is about the level of overall customer service at this store. I used to shop a lot more at this store as I work near it, but the level of customer service is so hit and miss. Yesterday, February 16, 2019 and a little after 10am, I was in the store and had such a delightful customer service experience with a blond woman who helped me with a growler and getting a new tank installed, so I could get the Boneyard IPA I wanted, that I was happy with the store again, but that soon ended when I went to the pharmacy and dealt with a woman that was so openly hostile that I was wondering what the heck happened... I asked for a Sharps container and she was very short with me. Then, when I asked if I could take the $4 container with me as I had other shopping to do, she gave me a look like I was planning to steal it. This is what you can expect from this store. Hot and Cold! The bad customer service always trumps the great customer service. All I did was ask a few questions about the Sharps container sizes and if they accepted full containers to be properly disposed of. If you like great customer service definitely avoid the pharmacy. I don't fill my prescriptions here, and why would I? Please avoid it. Also, on 1/22/2019, I arrived at this store at 5:15pm for a scheduled 5 to 6 pick-up with Click-it. Now, I usually pick up my Click-It order at the Fred Meyer on TV Hwy and have had fewer issues there. Tonight, however, because this store is close to my work, my wife placed the order with the Imbrie store. Upon arriving, I called the number to alert the staff that I had arrived. A woman answered and told me that my order would, "Be right out." Given this information, I called my wife and she started dinner imagining I would be home 10 to 15 minutes later. We always try hard during the week to get dinner ready by 6pm. However, my order failed to arrive until a full 30 minutes after I had been told "it would be right out." If there was a problem, they never conveyed a new time to me. When my order arrived, a young man came out with it, and he told me that two crucial meat ingredients for our meals for the rest of the week were out of stock. Usually they are very good at making substitutions when they are out of stock, but not tonight, and, again, no explanation was offered. I won't be able to recommend this store's Click-It program to any of my friends or colleagues. Also, your only option to leave feedback is to fill in one of their feedback forms at customer service. There are no online forms or a simple email available to the store manager or anything like that... Then, maybe one of the department heads will contact you. No, thank you.
