We live in a cul de sac, and there were a couple of landscaper vehicles partially blocking his approach to our driveway. He managed to drive that huge truck right up to our house and off load his lift truck with ease. Then he maneuvered it into our front yard, between our basketball hoop and front light post like the professional that he is, placing the load exactly where we wanted it. He was courteous and helpful in his delivery instructions and in his checking the inventory against the load slip, advising what had been back ordered and what was missing. This is a customer service review. Back in August a truck from Parr Lumber was making a delivery…read moreto my neighbor's back yard which backs onto my street. The truck turned around in my driveway and hit my mailbox, smashing the box and knocking it off the post.. My neighbors sent photos that day to the reps they had been dealing with and I spoke with one of them the next day and was assured I would hear from someone within a couplecof days. In the meantime, I had no mailbox and was given a notice from the post office that they could not deliver my mail. I did not hear from anyone at Parr so I called after 3 days and asked if I could just buy a replacement andcsendcthem a receipy. "Absolutely: So I bought a new box and bracket and texted the receipt. 2 weeks go by and I call. So far everyone has been very friendly but no one has said they are sending a check or apologized. The rep was annoyed (probably because he had passed it to his boss) and said I should call the boss. I did. No reply. So I called the rep again who says he's busy, the boss is busy and they have "95 more important things to deal with." So I call the store and ask for customer service. After exp laing what happened, I get a call from an assistant manager who assures me he will send a check Thursday - He was very nice. it was Monday. Then he tells me no incident report was filed and asks me to email him the receipt. I do, along with the photos. He replies asking for my address. I send it. It is now nearly the end of October and no check, no phone call, no apology. So, it seems the people at Parr Lumber are well trained at being kind, with one exception which I can forgive, but they do not follow through or follow up. Very disappointing experience.

Justin worked with us to confirm the height of our bed and headboard, the dimensions for our nightstands, and the dimensions and specific design of our dresser. We're very happy with the result. Prices are fair for the quality of the work. We have been very happy with the craftsmanship. The custom nature of these orders means there is a wait time, but we were in no rush and were very happy with the products we got. I will highlight that we specifically asked about low VOC finishes and were assured that's what they use. When our bed arrived, it had no smell. Our dresser does have a very strong smell and it does transfer onto clothes still, even though we aired out of room for a day after it arrived, wiped it down, and it's been 4 weeks now. White glove delivery was also included and both times (it was two separate orders, months apart) the delivery people were professional and were careful about placing items where we wanted, and not damaging anything while entering our home / navigating stairs and tight corners.

They regularly updated me as the work progressed. The chair turned out beautifully. It not only looks great, but just as importantly, it feels great to sit in. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and their attention to detail is obvious. The project was completed on time, and for a very fair price. We made a credit card payment over the phone to Habitat Restore in Forest Grove for a large 30x60"…read moreWooden Counter-cabinet for $275.00. when I came to pick it up with a 5x8 trailer, The thing weighed 300lb, and the employees loading it refused to use a dolly or take out the shelves inside when I asked. Instead they just shoved it up the ramp of the uhaul trailer, breaking off a corner slider foot. The entire 30" base panel along the bottom would need replaced as the leg screws tore off a pretty big chunk of it. Some of the sheet metal along the base bent and peeled as well, now the whole thing wobbles badly. My girlfriend went in to the store today, and the Manager told her the broken off leg was worth $10, and that she "would've paid more for the cabinet somewhere else." He then just gave her some scraps of wood to fix it ourselves. I'm not impressed with this store, anymore. The workers need to stop being lazy and use proper equipment for loading. We did not intend to pay $275 for a damaged item. It wasn't worth more than $100 in my opinion, and the workers loading definitely didn't treat it like it was worth more than $5, since we already paid for it.

Or you can keep driving farther west out to Murphy's in Cornelius to get something made of actual wood that will last. Or could be sanded down and refinished if it gets a nick in it. Don't be fooled by this little shop. They carry a lot of lines of furniture. Many of them made right here in Oregon. The staff here really knows their stuff. And if they have a question they can't answer, they check with Kathy and Mary the owners, or they contact the actual furniture maker. (Who knew that was possible? Yes!) Note that they quoted me a 4-6 week wait to have my item made in Albany (I think was the town), and sent to their store. It actually was ready at 4 weeks! Also, in this time of Covid, if you call and give them some details of what you want (size, style budget) they can email you options before you even go in. We went early and on a weekday but picked up on a Sunday early and it was not crowded. I believe it's possible to place your whole order by phone and email, pay for delivery and never visit the shop.
