Been coming here for my groceries for quite some time now and would stop by for a beer here and there and Mary, The bartender kicked me out because I was on the phone with my friend and was being disrespectful as if I was speaking to her.. and then two weeks later, I come back in to get more groceries and stop by again she goes. "Are you going to behave this time? Without even saying hi or hello or even dropping the past she is not meant to be in customer service I work customer service at a hotel and I know how customers should be treated. This review is directed at the pharmacy, not the retail operations. I had two recent transactions at the Fred Meyer pharmacy, neither of them were that satisfactory. I thought the first was a one off occurrence, but after the second it is clearly the way the pharmacy operates. If you reliably need your prescriptions filled quickly (that being less than 3 hours) your should take your business elsewhere. The first transaction I waited for three hours after the prescription was sent over and it wasn't ready and the PharmTech said it would be another hour, so I started the 20 minute drive back home. About 10 minutes later I'm halfway home and the text message arrives saying the prescription was ready. (Sigh...) I turn around and head back to pick-up the prescription, wishing I would have just waited at the store for it to be ready. The second experience was even worse. I waited three hours after the prescription was submitted and got the same story, the prescription wasn't ready and it would be another hour. I decided to drive home, as the physician was able to provide the initial dose during the visit so I had 12 hours until it was time for the next dose. I returned just before closing that day and only one of the two prescriptions had been filled, fortunately the critical prescription was filled and the other would be available in 48 hours. If you want to use the Fred Meyer Pharmacy on 11th, get a written prescription and present it while asking if they have the drugs on hand and a delivery estimate. If it doesn't meet your needs head down the road to CVS as their professionalism is far superior to the Fred Meyer pharmacy. read more

Fred Myer has the absolute worst pharmacy at least the Divsion Ave. location. Every single time I need to get my mother's dementia meds they never fill it on time and my mother misses a couploe days of medications because they always are late on ordering a refill even when I request a refill 10 days in advance, still late. Every time I shop here, there's a problem. Either a digital coupon doesn't ring up correctly, a product is priced incorrectly, self checkout doesn't work, long lines at cashier staffed lanes, too few cashiers. Now regarding the bad things changing this review to one star. I left my car in the parking lot and re packed my stuff. I tried to relocate boxes to the trunk, btw including purchases from Fred Meyer. Fred Meyer employees MULTIPLE times during the same hour harassed me, asked to leave the premises because of their "non loitering" policy. I didn't sleep there at night, I didn't camp, I just parked in the morning and tried to relocate my trunk. That is the way they treat their own customers. No store behaves like that (e. g. Home Depot, Walmart, Lowe's protect the customers unlike Fred Meyer). I will never come there again. read more

Whenever she's in Eugene for business, my friend always fills up gas at this Fred Meyer location. The first Fred Meyer store I ever went to was located in Salem (where one of my other close friends lives), but on my most recent trip to Eugene, I visited this particular Fred Meyer location for the first time. For those of you who aren't familiar with Fred Meyer, think of Target ... but on steroids. Although I still think Target is slightly cheaper, there's an abundance of things you can find at Fred Meyer, from groceries and gadgets to clothes and baked goods. We actually didn't spend too long at Fred Meyer on this trip--we just went one afternoon to browse the store and on another day to fill up gas--but it's always fun to look at the different items in there. I didn't buy anything from Fred Meyer, but most of my time was spent looking in the candy aisle and the assortment of baked goods. Fred Meyer will always have a special place in my heart because that was the first place I bought Moonstruck chocolate bars (the second-best place to find them if you're not planning to stop by one of the actual Moonstruck stores in Portland). During my most recent trip to this store, the Moonstruck chocolate bars were actually on sale (two for $5), but since I was already bringing home Voodoo Doughnuts for my family, I figured that was enough chocolate. However, I always check out the candy bar selection to see if anything interesting or new is available. It's also always fun to look through the selection of baked goods. Since we were at Fred Meyer right before Valentine's Day, there was a plentiful assortment of Valentine's treats. I spent a long time looking at the donuts, cake pops, cookie sandwiches and brownies available ... and I wanted them all! Though I didn't end up buying anything, if I had the choice, I probably would have gone for one of the cake pops or the chocolate-dipped cheesecakes. (For the record, I'm in Eugene not San Francisco, yelp has me wrong somehow.) I liked this store when I moved here 8 years ago, but then they remodeled, got all trendy & raised prices, & in the last few years I've onlt shopped here for things I can't get elsewhere. Last week, I went in at the end of a long shopping day, got the stuff I needed, had to hunt around for the frozen dinners I wanted, they were scattered all over the section & nothing on the bottom row had prices. I went to the nursery section for literally 15 minutes to buy 2 plants, leaving my cart in an out-of-the-way place b/c I'd forgot that there's a direct door out to the nursery. When I came back---cart gone. I looked everywhere thinking I'd forgot where I put it, finally had to do all the shopping over again & missing 2 items where I'd bought the last ones. Went to the checkout line & well hidden behind a big stack of merch was my cart. The cashier was lovely, apologized, said, yes, if they see a cart they think is abandoned they just move it. Now my cart had all my reusable bags in it & a LOT of frozen food which was still frozen solid, so it was CLEARLY not abandoned. Idiots. I was so tired (I'm a senior lady) I could hardly stand, & when the clerk said "Don't bother to take the stuff back, I'll take care of it," I thought "damn straight, cuz I can't go all around the store putting it back!" but I didn't say that b/c it wasn't her fault. I ordered some bacon and I didn't notice until I got home I called them and was told that since I didnt have proof of the missing bacon they couldn't help me. Went back to the store before closing time and the customer service desk was already closed, so they didn't give any type of refund or product replacement. I reported to a night front end manager after seeing multiple people walking around the store without masks during timeframe when masks are mandated indoors. I was told they can do absolutely nothing to enforce mask wearing. Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on so as not to risk exposing myself and then reporting to my job in the hospital. I will also encourage all my patients and their families, especially those on the COVID wards to avoid shopping here for groceries and pharmacy. read more

Fred Meyer Click list is AMAZING. no impulse shopping. No bad fruit and veggies. No time wasted searching the aisles. If you have their membership card the groceries get you money off you gas which more than pays for the convenience fee. Staff is friendly substitutes are always great. The absolute worst pharmacy ever. They continually run out of the meds that are prescribed, won't answer their phones and some of their staff really don't care about their jobs or customers. If you are that busy hire more staff. Is senior store management really that unaware of that goes on in the pharmacy that they cannot predict needing more staff? I went there to get a Covid shot for my 12 year old, but the woman behind the counter at the pharmacy looked at me like I was a crazy person and demanded to know what her pediatrician said. I explained that the vaccine was approved for everyone over the age of 12, but that I had some questions. She was so rude and judgmental and eventually she told me that she was not even a pharmacist. I don't know why people who are not pharmacists are behind the counter in the pharmacy, or why there are anti-VAX or's in the vaccine center. I used to go to Fred Meyer for almost all my shopping, even clothes. Not anymore. Going through the remodel was bad enough but even now things have not improved. The store does not flow well. You!re dumped into the produce section at one entrance. To get out you have to go through the deli (with lots of free standing displays and a ton of people working the deli, the bar and some other sections I try to ignore), the wine and beer section or the natural food section. By this time I'm already frustrated. They moved the day old bread by the DAIRY CASE! Yeah, that's where I'd look for it all right. I now go there about twice a month. I love this place. They have low regular prices and some crazy deals if you shop right. Their customer service is incredible considering the low prices, size, and selection. They have an awesome bulk section, a free wine chiller machine in case the wine you want isn't available in a refrigerated version, occasional free samples, and free fruit if you bring a kid with you shopping. Be sure to check out the discount bin in the back of the store to the left of dairy (if you're coming in the front grocery doors). read more

Customer Service Made me feel like a criminal for making my first return EVER! To any Fred Meyer location, stole 50% of my deserved return value, because they didn't want to accept the return, and told me I couldn't make another return for 30 days! I won't be letting Fred Meyers have one single dollar from me ever again. Looks like this location has made it a habit to treat their customers poorly. Over the past 2 years or so the shopping experience at Fred Meyer on West 11th has gotten worse and worse. It is evident to me that a management there does not really care about the respect it's customers. It treats them like criminals when they want to do a return did Mrs. opportunities to develop positive customer relationships and just realizing the fact that it's a huge corporation that can supply a large amount of goods and figures it's just going to make money no matter what so it doesn't really have to care about its customers. It is true that their produce is above average and they have a usually not always but a pretty decent selection of organic and generally speaking a good selection of items but of course because it's a huge store they better have a good selection of things. Their prices are weird because you know on some items they're pretty good but I'm quite a few items there someone expensive when you consider how big they are they should be able to get better prices. There's a there's a few people that work in the store that are nice but others are jackasses. In general I try to avoid the store as much as possible and instead shop out in Capella Market Whole Foods Trader Joe's or even target or believe it or not I'll even go to Walmart to avoid going to Fred Meyer. And also they think they're giving you such a great deal on the gasoline with the rewards points but basically if you have save 400 points and you get $.40 off per gallon that makes it pretty close to the same price that Costco already is. It is true that they are in a part of town where there's a fair number of sort of sketchy people coming in and out of the store but they need to be able to distinguish between the sketchy people that may be shoplifting or scamming them in someway and normal customers. The solution is not a treat everybody like a criminal. read more

We bought some kitchen wares because the sales prices were good. Otherwise they were too expensive. We looked at the sales receipt at home and found we were charged $15.28 more than we should have. I called the store and after fighting my way through the answering system, I talked to a customer rep. Beware. All the sales you see on the shelf only work if you are a Rewards Member. I am not a fan of these things as they always flood your email box. They did say I could come back with the receipt, join the club and get my money back that they are holding hostage. So be careful. Shopped here for the first time. The store is huge & has three doors to enter/exit. I finished shopping at 11pm & they locked the door that was closest to where I parked. 4-5 employees were still working so they could have allowed me to exit where I needed to be, but they chose to be uncaring. This meant that a middle-age woman (me) with $100 worth of groceries had to walk three blocks around the huge store in the cold alone. Besides being unsafe it was hugely inconvenient. This is the last time I ever shop at Fred Meyer's! It really too bad cause their selection is good & so are their prices. In my book, HOW you treat your customers is the most important factor!! F this place. Every time i go here they never have half of what i would've bought. Service is terrible and u wait in one of the only two lanes open with people back into the aisles. I lost my job from covid and tried to apply here and they wouldn't even give me an interview for any of the areas i applied for. Okay, Fred Meyer ! Time to toot my horn ! I've been shopping here for over twenty five years, so I know what I'm talking about . Convenience makes me return, despite concerns. Staff is very nice. Return policy is great. But here goes: * I agree with others, the parking lot is not good. It is difficult to park near to the entrances and congested. I have had pan handlers approach me . * The service desk is a disaster. While staff is nice, there aren't enough of them. Two days ago, on a Monday morning, the store wasn't very crowded. I was second in line and there were seven others, waiting behind me, while one , then two staff people tried to help someone buy a number of gift cards or money orders. I must have waited more than twenty minutes. Twice, I asked if they could bring another person in to help us, but was ignored. I left , feeling furious . * There is a long history of fresh fruits and vegetables not being all that fresh. Its spotty. I have complained twice, over the years, but there has been no change of which I am aware. E.G., I bought a bag of mandarin oranges. Upon getting them home, it was readily apparent that they were already on the way to spoiling. And they weren't cheap. * They used to carry a lovely line of costume jewelry, which is no longer the case. Perhaps they don't care that they are losing money , at least mine, which I would have spent on it. * Oh, and I agree about the previous comment regarding the bum who tries to give away free newspapers to everyone who leaves the store by that entrance. Its very annoying and offensive. But then, I also hate having to navigate past bell ringers at Christmas time, for weeks on end. This location is convenient for us, and we come here once a week at least. It's quite busy at peak hours, so come in the evening if you want to avoid crowds. Find another place to return bottles and cans; the machines here are outside, smell terrible, break regularly, and have homeless people hanging around constantly. The parking lot is sometimes tough to navigate, and it has a health clinic and gas station wedged onto the same parcel, which adds to the congestion. Once you're inside the experience is much better. You can do an entire week's worth of shopping in one spot, and the selection is very good for staple items. The house brands (Kroger) are mostly as good as national brands, and usually cheaper. There's a small food court and Starbucks counter. If you sign away your privacy and get a rewards card, you can get rebates and gas discounts. Service can be spotty, but in Eugene you have to expect that. Clothes and homewares are Target-level quality. I used to go to Target pretty regularly before I moved here, but I don't feel the need much anymore thanks to this place. read more

Hello 1 star for their return policy...I tried to return something with a receipt 3 days after buying it and unopened. That day I went to the store the bank sent me a new debit card. They said they could only issue me an in-store credit. I am just genuinely upset with the employees lack of effort and willingness to help. They were rude and didn't try to help. The leadership at this store was weak and scared to try to help me. I left the store and brought back my debit card that was cut up and asked them to return the cash on my cut up debit card. LOL again they were rude and not willing to help. I was very reasonable but their customer service sucks! read more

This store is the worst Freddies I've experienced for multiple reasons. As another review mentioned they are constantly "stocking" things, aka things are always in the middle of the aisle but the shelves are rarely actually stocked. At first I thought it was because I was going in during the morning hours; until I went in a few evenings and they're still "stocking" the shelves. Wow. The "Free Paper" Register Guard peddler out front is the absolute worst though. The dude is creepy and I hate that they allow someone to harass customers on a regular basis. This isn't like a promotional booth that pops up only once a week every six months, it's constantly there and the dude just sort of grunts "Free paper?" at folks as they pass by in hopes they'll grab one and listen to the "Do you want a subscription?" speech. Obnoxious. I've never witnessed either of these problems at other stores around town. The parking lot is a disaster, I have a panic attack about 50% of the time because people don't know how to navigate it. I do appreciate that they've opened both lanes of Self Check though, that's the only reason I have added an extra star. read more

The woman in the seafood counter read me the riot act one time for asking for help. Today that same employee told me that they were out of a fish that I had seen in the counter just the afternoon before. This was at 7:30 AM. When I got home, just to satisfy my curiosity, at 10 AM I called and asked if they had the seafood that I wanted . She said yes. It infuriates me that she lied when I was in the store. No way did they sell all of that $18 a lb fish that quick. I realize that the seafood counter is not always open early but I specifically asked if they were open and she said they were. read more
