Love Trader Joe's!!! Great prices, quantities great for single folks, most reasonable flower selections at the absolute best prices!

Like many people, I really love Trader Joes! My first time to visit this one... and had a great experience. The staff was really friendly, and helpful. I managed to find everything I wanted ( and more, of course! LOL!) It was well stocked, and they did not appear to be out of anything. The Garlic dip/spread (Toum) here is really good, and convenient for when I am too lazy to make it at home! The frozen Chocolate Croissants are terrific, too... as long as you can avoid eating the whole box at one sitting, lol! The small single serving quiches are wonderful... and not overly expensive. read more

All the food here is sooooo expensive. Back before covid like waaay back when it first opened in Oregon, I was able to treat myself to a snack or frozen food while traveling. That was before the 9% inflation. However recently, e en at only 3% inflation i still find their pricing ginormous! Waaaay over priced. I am always shocked to see people shopping there with carts!!! Don't know where they get that kind of money, especially in Eugene oregon! I am on so I'll security with some supplements income you know, the ones the younger generation would simply like to just make go away to an adult retirement center... Just make us disappear. I have found a number of great items over the years, like the milk chocolate with cornflakes bar and the refrigerated (not frozen) tamales! And, my little doggie es very fond of the chick chips! Sam G, with curly, dark & a short hair style, female employee rang me up today. she was the impeccably rude, dismissed me upon check out- acted as if I was a problem. I forgot 1 thing, there was NO line- she sent the "bagger" to grab it for me- she rolled her eyes & stood there- leaving all my items bagged. After a few moments, I started to bag. I tried to make nice small talk- she didn't engage. I apologized twice for forgetting, there still was no one in her line- she was so cold, and literally almost made me cry- and I'm not faint of heart. I love Trader Joe's so much. It's my happy place. I have never experienced any employee this way in my 30 years of Shopping here. I spoke to the manager, she agreed that wasn't appropriate behavior. She apologized and was very nice to me. I love Trader Joe's it would be my go-to shopping place if they brought one to Roseburg, OR. (Hint) This is the first time I made the 150 mile journey to shop in Eugene. Trader Joe's was a must stop. The foods are all good quality and have been taste approved or they aren't kept in the TJ family. The produce is always fresh. I always buy the English Peas for snacks. Cheeses are another favorite stop-I love their English Chesdar but today bought Pecorino Romano and Cotija cheese. Snacks of the blue corn tortilla chips are so good but I tried the Baked Cheddar Crunchies-which are delicious and low in calories and fat. Win! They have tasty products with terrific prices for canned goods, oils, olives and boxed goods. The frozen foods may be my favorite area in the store. Appetizers such as Siu Mai, Spinach Artichoke Dip, Veggie Bird's Nests, and new for me-Soup Dumplings make happy hours easy & delicious. Frozen meals help get lunch and dinner on the table fast. I tried Teriyaki Chicken which made great rice bowls and Beef Birria-which I'm so excited to try. Trader Joe's has been a favorite store for decades. Trader Joe's is a really nice place to shop, but it's almost always busy! Tip: To minimize the impact of the crowd, I try to avoid coming here after work; instead I make time during my lunch break, and take that break at off hours whenever possible This is a great place to pick up staples and snacks. While their parking lot isn't overly small, it still gets pretty crowded during peak hours, so I suggest you avoid those peak times whenever possible. It's not a huge Trader Joe's. It wasn't well-stocked, although there were many people furiously stocking it as I arrived. Perhaps a truck had just arrived. Nonetheless, my staples were missing. Trader Joe's makes Safeway and Albertsons look plainly stupid. This is a saving grace. The big discounters seem to have interesting if bizarre selections, and it's unknown to me whether they're consistently available bizarre selections, which might be fun. But my favorites were missing. I left with a partial bag. Sigh. read more

Everytime I shop here I end up finding a new item I haven't tried before so me and my kid make that a sort of tradition. Since the renovations it feels spacious and much easier to shop. Short: It is Trader Joe's. You know the hype. You know the flyers. They got cool stuff! Visited Week of Dec.10th, 2022. You are instantly greeted with greens, seasonal/ holiday goodies, and plants at the door. They restocked a lot of produce and products during the December holiday season. It was seriously crowded. I was there on a weekday around 1-2:30 pm. Products: Produce was a great variety, with many fresh and local options. A lot of salad kits too! Their bread selection is a bit limited. There were sweet pastries and then some loaves like white, whole wheat, and sourdough. Trader Joe's does have well-stocked gluten-free bakery products. That's a plus! A bunch of spices, this aisle was utterly packed with people. There is the famous "everything but the bagel" spice jar, and Trader Joe's has made several different variations of this. Such as "Everything but the Elote" and "Everything but the leftovers". There is only one frozen aisle. However, there are a lot of products and selections. The cuisine of a lot of different places, and everything looks pretty easy to make! About the holiday products, they did not have *all* of the holiday goodies, such as shown in the "Fearless Flyer." I am not sure if they just weren't stocked or they were already sold out. Customer Service: Despite it being busy, the cashier and team members were all super friendly. They wanted to make sure you got what you needed. Side note: This is my 2nd time ever at this location. Overall, definitely worth going for Trader Joe's specialties! I have been a big fan of Trader Joe's for many years; my experience at the Eugene TJ's this week has left me with a really bad feeling towards the management of this store and their treatment of individuals with special needs. I am the parent of a special needs child. Over a year ago I contacted the Eugene Trader Joe's requesting that they consider obtaining a special needs shopping cart similar to ones that many stores have. These carts are wonderful and allow families such as mine the opportunity to shop with their special needs (or elderly) family members. At the time, the manager was very responsive and was able to obtain one at the Eugene TJs. My son and I have used the cart several time and it works out great. Recently, I went to the TJs with my son and other members of my family. When we pulled in to the parking spot we noticed that the special cart was way at the back of the outdoor "cart storage" area, behind a lock and chain. The cart was very dusty and sunbleached--which implies that it may have been sitting out there for a while. When my sister went inside to see if someone could unlock the cart for us, she was told the cart was broken. My niece submitted feedback on the TJs website and received a response stating that the cart was not broken, it was "not customer ready". We are not sure what that means but assume that it might mean that it was too dusty. The TJs employee did not offer to wipe the cart down and unlock it for us and we left the store. I am very disappointed that this store is not more concerned about ensuring accessibility for ALL potential customers, including those individuals and families like mine with special needs. As I said at the beginning of this review, I have been a fan of TJs in general; however, I will NEVER return to the Eugene Trader Joes. read more

I'm a Trader Joe's girly at heart and I love it here. The employees are all so nice and helpful and are always willing to answer questions. Their checkout folks are friendly and quick and make casual conversation when it's quiet. The seasonal treats that they offer here make me so happy, especially in the fall and winter. I can usually find what I'm looking for on my own, but if I can't then I'm always able to ask and get the answers I'm looking for. The bathroom is clean and small, and only has room for one person at a time so you may need to wait. The parking lot is huge but always busy no matter what time you go, and people just don't seem understand how to behave in them. Not the stores fault, people just need to learn how to drive. I usually try to go around 7pm on a weekday to avoid the worst of it. read more

TJs is my comfort zone while traveling. Today my Thai spot was closed so I decided to pick up some food at the market. It must be due to the chill in the air, but I was inspired to try some new items since some of my standbys were sold out. The pumpkin paneer samosas are delightful and perfect for get togethers. The beef stout pot pie had a great crispy crust. The filling needed more gravy and beef but still satisfying. The staff were very helpful at this location. A few of them helped me locate items. First & 2nd visit to this store as I am visiting from out of town. Came a few days after a disastrous visit to the Safeway on 18th & a successful visit to the pricey Whole Foods on Broadway downtown. I have only shopped at TJ's elsewhere a few times, so I wasn't familiar with the layout of store. However, if I looked for longer than a moment a cheerful employee would appear, ask if I had found what I was looking for, then would proceed to guide to the location in the store where it was, then hover for a moment to see if I had any additional questions. Given that I had several items I could find, this process was cheerfully repeated again & again. I was able to pick up several item a friend or family members asked for. They had a good selection of both regular & organic items on my list. Good to know for future visits to Eugene area. shopping tip: since I knew that at home they can turn into a zoo on evenings & weekends, I looked at the store info on google maps to see what time they were least busy. Great variety food, especially with all these cockamamy diets everyone is on Always clean & friendly. If you can't find something, just ask! Trader Joe's is one of my favorite places to shop. Sadly this place left me with a weird feeling in my stomach. That's why this review comes much later than when I initially shopped there. Came in to pick up plants, and food items to stock up an apartment. This location had a good selection of things we needed. I encountered such a strange cashier who thought his jokes were funny, when they weren't. He had the strangest questions, and comments. There wasn't anyone behind us in line, and he wouldn't start bagging the items. He just had the most sarcastic look on his face. His questions were weird, and stalkerish. I said we were from the Metro area, and that triggered another round of suburban sarcasm. Yes, we do like succulents. A female employee most probably heard his comments and she came to bag our purchase. The two stars are basically for her, and the consistency of what's sold at Trader Joe's. I am not sure if I totally missed a sign stating that you have to bag your own groceries here, but if I did, Wow! I don't mind the charge for the paper bags. From my initial experience here, I will definitely stop by the Lake Oswego Trader Joe's for purchases I need to bring down to Eugene. read more

I have shopped here for ever - probably ever since they've opened. But as I consider the planet and our excessive abuse of it, I realize how many of the products that Trader Joe's sells are packaged in non-recyclable plastics. I am very unhappy about this. So I cannot give them a five star, though in general I feel that way. However, I am stopping doing as much shopping there as I had previously just because of their over-use of plastics. So, no longer do I buy cauliflower or broccoli or various products that you cannot purchase individually and unwrapped. I am very surprised at how few things I now purchase at Trader Joe's because of their use of non recyclable plastics. (There is a company called Eco Generation that will recycle a number of these products, but it has become so complicated and so overwhelming I'm just doing without plastic wherever I can) I intend to send a letter to Trader Joe's management to let them know how disappointed I am in their inability to provide more sane use of plastics for public use. read more

Had to stop by here for 2 reasons- his mom needed a pit stop and I had to get milk for the little one. He was under the weather and has been having trouble keeping down dairy so I got him lactose-free milk (Lactaid) this time. After I grabbed the milk, I remembered my current true love at Trader Joe's... their chocolate-hazelnut cookies so I scoured the sweets before the registers but did not see any so I ran to the frozen aisles and smiled to myself when I found it. As I was approaching a register, I spotted his mom. I put my stuff down and told her I got her brandy filled chocolates.. I think the total was under $11 which was fine considering I got my cookies and ate 99.9% of it in 24 hours (gave 1 to his mom), tried a different milk for my monster, and got his mom a box of decadent sweets.. it's a triple win situation! The store layout is similar to the Trader Joe's I have been to but the store is more open, not cramped, and even though it was 11:45am on a Sunday, the place was nowhere near "crazy" as it is here in CA. I've never done a review for a grocery chain national chain before. However, I have to give a special shout out to the staff of Trader Joes Eugene for their handling of the current health crisis. The staff is working so hard on trying to keep the shelves stocked and managing the long lines. On the day I went in they were the busiest I have ever seen them. With the line for the register reaching the length of the entire store. It was an approximate 20 minute wait. You can tell that they were tired and a bit stressed. I mean, can't you blame them? But my cashier still did her due diligence of sanitizing her hands in between every customer and was still talkative and nice to everyone. Please be kind to the employees of all grocery stores at this time. They are people too who have families and they are still coming into work so that we can stock the shelves for you. read more

Trader Joe's is my fav grocery store! The new, creative products and the value can't be beat. Seriously, there are times where I look at all the groceries I've bought and check the total at the cash register and think "Wow, all of that only cost that much? Amazing!" Do you love overcrowded grocery stores that have almost no parking, and when you do finally find a spot it's swooped from right in front of you? How about more packaging then is unnecessary, only adding waste to our land fills? If you answer yes then this is the place for you. During a weeklong stay in Eugene, I had to go to Trader Joe's to load up on some of my favorite snacks to take back to Hawaii. It was nice to actually be here for a week - everything during our visit was spaced out, and there was no rush to do all the activities I wanted to do all at once. There are always certain things I like from Trader Joe's, but since Oregon has no sales tax ... I bought more snacks than usual. Gotta take advantage! It's always nice to check out the "what's new" section of Trader Joe's to see if there's anything worth adding to my stash. Here's what I normally get: Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzels: I must have bought 4-5 bags of these during this trip, since, at the time, they were my favorite snack from Trader Joe's. They feature square-shaped, bite-sized pretzel pieces that are filled with creamy peanut butter and coated with the smooth, velvety milk chocolate layer. I try really hard to ration my portions in order to make each bag last as long as possible. I love how each square contains a good amount of peanut butter, and when combined with the sweeter milk chocolate layer, it's the perfect sweet-and-salty mix. These pretzels are seriously addictive, though. They're especially good when you put them in the fridge, because the milk chocolate layer gets a little bit hard (almost like a candy coating). Candied Pecans: I bought one pack for me and one pack for one of my family members. You can find these candied pecans in the nuts aisle, along with other dried fruits, trail mix, etc. These pecans are great for snacking, but I also like to put them as toppings on my salad to add texture and crunch. Cashew Packs: You can buy a single bag of cashews (same goes for almonds and some of the other nuts), but they also sell larger bags of individually packaged nuts (they're good snack size items) ... and ideal if you want to save yourself from consuming half the bag at once. I always hunt for the larger bag filled with individually sized packs when I take a trip down the nut aisle. Joe-Joes: Joe-Joes can be similar to Oreos, in that they're cookie sandwiches with a cream layer in the middle. And, they're also similar in that they're super addictive cookies! The cookie parts always taste fresh, and the cream is luscious and sweet. I like the traditional flavor, but it's always exciting when there is something new (the Christmas Joe-Joes or any seasonal flavors). read more

I haven't had any problems going to Trader Joe's. They have delicious granola bars, and I have always received good service. At least their prices aren't as bad as Whole Foods. If you're looking for a grocery store that is all about the natural and organic without the ridiculous prices, please give Trader Joe's a try. read more

This is one of the only places I will go for groceries in Eugene for several reasons. 1) Pretty much every major city on the west coast has a Trader Joe's, so its food is familiar and consistent across locations. 2) Trader Joe's pricing is affordable, and they offer a lot of ethnic food options not available at your typical Safeway. 3) Convenience: TJ's frozen entrees are great for busy weeknights when I don't have time to cook 4) Free samples! The sample bar in the back of the store by the greeting cards (which are so cute and such a bargain for 99 cents) is a great way to try new products without having to buy them first. Sometimes it's hit or mess, but there are other times where I find a new product that I really like and I end up buying it. This particular Trader Joe's location receives 4 stars from me because as many other people have said, the parking lot at this shopping center is awful, and people do not know how to drive here. I also do not like how small the store is compared to my TJ's in my hometown. Tip: For seasonal frozen food items like the Thanksgiving side dishes, stock up early because they will sell out, and they only keep these items on the shelf for so long! I always look forward to the time of year when I can get the Butternut Squash Parmigiana, Stuffing with Chicken Apple Sausage, and their jar of cranberry sauce which is SO much better than canned jellied cranberry. read more

Trader Joe's is always super busy. I like it, but I am not a fan of the ridiculous amounts of people here, or the parking. They have a very unique product selection, which is great. I love their ice cream and dried berries. I take the berries and mix them with protein powder and yogurt to make a great smoothie. My aunt and cousin rave about their pizza dough. I enjoy it as well. The wine selection is pretty big too, which can make for great and inexpensive gifts, or if you need a bottle for a party, it's perfect. The thing I despise about the store is the hoards of customers. It is really difficult to take the time to look at products because they are so busy, isles are small, and there's no real room to actually stop and read product labels or research a product before you buy it. Parking outside just sucks beyond belief. I feel like I'm taking my life in my hands just being in the parking lot, because it is so busy, people drive like idiots, and no one pays attention. I realize this has nothing to do with the store, but it can dissuade me from going there a lot of times. The employees are always nice, which surprises me, I'm not sure why, but some have perfected the resting bitch face, and look unapproachable. But whenever I ask for assistance, they are always more than happy to help, and do so with a great attitude. Will I return to this store? Absolutely. I just have to figure out a time when they aren't so busy that I can't shop and look at products. read more

Just love Trader Joe's like an Auntie. Good humor and a light "Now try this" attitude prevail. Not everything usually found in a grocery store is there--for instance, canned beans, if I remember correctly. They feature variety along with the best selections in almost ,every department, including wines and cheeses from all over the world, reasonably priced. Some new items are a great discovery, some not to our taste, but that's the fun of it. The workers are very obliging and seem to be having a good time; bags and wrappers are humoursly painted; and if you go there feeling kinda blue, you'll end up smiling. read more

They just did a remodel so it is a lot bigger and more to pick from. "If you have it on your list you'll find it at Trader Joes." Trader Joes has great customer service and the co-workers are more than willing to help you find what you are looking for. It has a great atmosphere clean and kept up with painting murals of Eugene around the stores. read more

Sanitation starts right at the door! They wipe down the carts outside and have someone to get one for you. Their frozen food section is delicious, especially their orange chicken and mochi. It is hard to get around due to the isles being slim, but that's not really something they can accommodate. I applaud them for their efforts in keeping the store COVID friendly! read more
