What can I say? These guys are wonderful. Checkers remember us and are friendly. Some know us by name. Once I accidently left my keys on the Chase bank counter inside just before closing, shopped and realized I was stranded! One of the checkers who guards the automated check out area actually got the number of the janitor for me so I could get my keys back! Awesome. On the rare occasion I need to return something its always a painless process and I am treated with respect. Prices are reasonable. Its great being a '"Rewards Member " as I get cash in the mail and rewards coupons. Once I brought in a 10 dollars off 50 dollars spent coupon from QFC thinking I may be able to use it, Fred Meyer is owned by the same guy who owns QFC. Turns out, Freddie's doesn't accept their coupons but Adam (a manager) honored it anyway! Above and Beyond a good store to shop. read more

This is the worst Fred Meyers there is. I used to love coming here because it was convenient and close to my house but the last 5 times I've been there I've had a nightmare of a time trying to find anything. The stores huge and there is such a great variety of things which is awesome, but thay means nothing if you can't find what you need. The staff is no help at all. No one ever knows where to find anything! I ask 3 different employees and they all send me different places and don't even have the decency to walk me there or try to help me. It's ridiculous. They need some kind of training to teach their staff where things are! Simple task. read more

A couple of weeks ago I went to the meat department and purchased 2 chickens, and because the price was good, I didn't look to see weather they were Washington raised. That night I roasted one if the chickens for dinner. Well it just so happened, my wife didn't eat any chicken, , she had one bite, and said that's not Washington grown, is it? I went and got the package and looked at it, and sure enough it wasn't. She said she could taste the difference. So she refused to eat any more. I ate my portion! And I was sick and throwing up for the next two days. It gave me food poisoning. I threw the other chicken in the garbage. The other concern I have about their meat, is the amount of water their meat has in it. It used to be, when the meat was inspected , the amount of water in the meat was regulated. Well just fry any piece of meat you get from the stores, including FM and you have to pour off the water before your finished frying your pc of meat. It used to be fat drippings, now it's water. So the next time you pay 5 or 6 dollars a pound for hamburger, or 12 to 16 dollars a pound for a good looking steak, think about how much water their charging you for. Bought two of the same item within a day of each other. The first one was full price the second was a price blaster. I asked if I could get a price adjustment when I purchased the second one. I was told no problem bring your receipt back and we will adjust. Well guess what I took the receipt in and was told the purchase was from two days ago and the item is no longer on sale, so we WON'T do a price adjustment. Seriously, the sale ended a few hours ago, not weeks or months ago. Thanks for NOT adjusting the price because I missed the sale by a few hours! Awesome, customer service. read more

I love this Fred Meyer. I like on the East Hill in Kent, but drive to this one (I don't like the ones near me as much). It has a great organic section (very similar to Trader Joe's) and I've always found the staff very helpful. Also, I hit up their 70% off already reduced clothing sale and got some MAJOR bargins--$14 outfits for my little girl for less than $4. Can't beat that! read more

I love Fred Meyer and shop here ALL the time. By far my favorite grocery store...HOWEVER, the customer service at the Customer Service Desk could be improved. I work at a small dental office in Covington and come in time to time to get change for a $100 bill, usually I go to the Self Check-out Line and the woman in charge there is amazing! I usually buy something for myself then ask for change for my business, she helps me with a smile on the whole time. When I go to the Customer Service Desk I get questioned and looked at strange. Time before last I was told that Fred Meyer gets charged to make change for me, that was quickly debunked by another employee, and today I was told that for "neighboring businesses" change can be made. If that's the case I would hope that means without attitude as well, but I cant seem to get that far with some employees. I want to continue to shop at Fred Meyer and I hope for more kindness and understanding the next time I come in for my business. read more

Friendly employees and easy to get in and out of even when they are busy. Crazy parking lot design though. What's with the entry design into your parking lot? If you are starved for entertainment, go to the entrance off the traffic circle and watch the near collisions every few minutes. read more

I always receive very good customer service at this store. The employees are friendly and helpful. I occasionally have trouble finding someone when I have a question and have to pick-up the customer service phone, but someone always helps me right away. I especially want to complement "Alex" in the paint dept. He spent a lot of time helping me the other day opening a stuck paint can. It wasn't even paid I bought in this store. No charge. I always get the worst customer service here. I went up to an older gentleman in the electronics department to get a video game and he said he would be right there and continued to talk to his co worker. Another customer came up and he helped her immediately and I had to ask again and he continued to take his time over to me. Very rude. I also had a lady at self check out where I bought some alcohol, usually they come up to me and check my ID, but she actually yelled "can you come here please?!" In front of a ton of other customers. As another employee at Fred Meyer I always feel completely disrespected here and think that their customer service needs a TON of work. read more
