Meri and Kevin Bender are not only attentive business owners, but wonderful people. They treat every student and their family as their family. All the instructors project that care and attention as well. Not only is the Bender team devoted to teaching the arts but focus even more on their students being good citizens. The recent pandemic was a challenge for everyone, yet Meri & Kevin found a way to keep their studio open which was particularly important when the schools were closed to in-person learning. They have also facilitated combined travel and dance opportunities that our daughter has taken advantage of, i.e. dancing at Disneyland, and going to a summer dance camp in Colorado. We highly recommend BPA for anyone who wants to introduce their child to the arts. Yvonne & Mike B., Phoenix

At a…read morerecent recital, I witnessed parents volunteering at the flower booth openly gossiping about a young boy in front of other parents and children. One of those individuals was Sonya Vandervort. The comments were inappropriate, mean spirited, and showed a complete lack of respect and maturity. It is shocking that adults would choose to behave this way at an event centered around children. This kind of toxic behavior creates an uncomfortable atmosphere and reflects very very poorly on the studio community as a whole. Management should take a much stronger stance on addressing it. The other woman there was Kylie, who was also volunteering at the flower booth. She was kind, helpful, professional, and got me my flowers without engaging in any gossip or negativity. I feel very sorry for her and that she had to deal with those immature adults who aren't self aware.

Before I quit, though, several conflicts occurred including drama in Nutcracker dress rehearsals. Got body-shamed, was excluded, and I found out that other dancers were body-shamed too. I've talked to former dancers who went here, stayed there for years, and had experienced self-esteem issues due to Mrs. Irina's unnecessary comments. I wish I could have rated this place higher because I came out as a decent ballerina, but the training all of us had to go through felt nearly abusive.

Found the owners belittling young, impressionable girls. Irina, in particular, often body shamed girls. Both owners failed to provide promised private lessons even after these were paid for and no refund provided. Extremely shady and unprofessional business practices frustrated their employees. Contracted instructors have complained that they went unpaid. By all means, if you want, send your young, impressionable girls to a school were they are shamed, abused, and ridiculed by these hot-headed narcissists.

No such thing as zero stars, eh?…read more By the way, they have moved to a new location. If you want to make your kid cry, go ahead and sign them up! This was my daughter's first experience with a true dance class after taking "dance" classes where the kid's more or less just had fun to music. She was so excited to have her pink leotard, her little ballet skirt and a tap and ballet shoes. The first day of class I discovered that some of the girls in the class had already taken the same class several times, one for at least a year...but they weren't progressed to another class, the classes were designated by age, not by level. So, the teacher went through the movements and expected the girls to follow along. She did not stop to help them and showed frustration at then for not immediately following along. Did I mention this is a class for THREE YEAR OLDS and it's the FIRST DAY OF CLASS? Managing your expectations was definitely not part of the training here! I thought about complaining, but then realized the instructor (who did not introduce herself) was actually one of the owners. I decided to take her to a class on a different day, with a different instructor, hoping she would be less intense with such young children just starting out. I was wrong. This class was with the other owner, who opted to make multiple children cry. Keeping in mind that this is a class of three year olds and it was only the second class, the instructor yelled at the girls for fidgeting while they were waiting for the other girls to take their turns. My daughter came running out of the room and said she was told she would not be allowed to dance if she couldn't stand still until it was her turn. Why anyone would think this was the way to treat such a young child is beyond me comprehension. I left two voicemail messages, sent an email, and a letter informing the Dance Project that we would not be continuing classes and to cancel all future enrollments after two classes. They have an "automatic renewal" policy so I wanted to be sure that we were not automatically renewed. No one returned my calls, my emails, or my letter. Four weeks later, I received a call requesting my next payment. Not only did they not return my calls, they either didn't notice, or didn't care that my daughter had not been in the class for four weeks, but they wanted more money. As a teacher, I want to ensure that my children develop a love of learning. It is crucial that early teachers and learning experiences by positive so that children will want to continue to learn. Fortunately, my daughter loves dancing, so she was willing to try another class (at another school of course) and she has been taking classes there for weeks now -- not only does she love it, she is thriving and learning quickly.

My daughter loves it here. The staff is great, very professional. Classes for all skill levels.read more

She's tried hip hop, ballet, tap, and a couple of the summer camps and has loved every single one. Her teachers (she's had Gabby and Angie, the owner) are both amazing with the kids, and Brooklyn always looks forward to class (it's the highlight of her week). The studio has a lot of options, the prices are reasonable, and the recital at the end of the year is super organized and fun to watch. We're really happy we found such a great dance studio so close to home. If you're looking for a new studio in Queen Creek, definitely give this one a try - you won't regret it!

When an owner/instructor is hanging out at clubs, bars, going to Disneyland or trips with the same parents of dancers, and ironically those kids get all the opportunities to move up.......i call that a complete conflict of interest. There are some wholesome instructors, but no matter how good they are, if the favoritism continues it is clear the studio will not grow into what it could become. Word will travel about this behavior as the dance community is small in the area. I hope they get their stuff together because the potential is there.

My husband had pretty much no prior dance experience, and I only had a little, but the choreography was simple enough that we could keep up. Our instructor also built on the basics in such a way that we felt like we learned a lot, even in just two lessons! She even caught footage of our practice dance, mostly for the purposes of reference when practicing at home, but it's also become a treasured memory (I included a little bit of it alongside our actual first dance from the wedding in the video alongside the review)! While we're no longer local to the Phoenix area, the lessons we had gave us more confidence, and have encouraged us to get into more dance in the years since our wedding. Overall, I really can't recommend Fred Astaire of Moon Valley enough!

Everyone at this studio, from instructors to fellow students, were so nice and welcoming. Our instructor, Sarah, was fantastic. She put a lot into our lessons and built on what we had learned the previous week. She made us feel comfortable and excited to dance. The Thursday night parties are awesome! They have a different theme each week. You get to meet other students and practice a variety of dance styles. This studio also has group classes, which I am planning on checking out.
