I was recommended by a friend to try Fitness 1 due to the quality of equipment as well as the old school atmosphere. The communication with Chad prior to visiting was great. He welcomed me when I came in and showed me around the gym, explaining how it was laid out and where I can find certain pieces of equipment. This included equipment like the pendulum squat, which can't be found in most commercial gyms. He also showed me where much of the power lifting equipment was and even discussed the childcare. I spent the next 90 minutes using amazing equipment such as Rogue, Precor, and my personal favorite, Arsenal. The culture in the gym was great. Everyone was working towards their own personal goals, all while supporting and assisting each other. They were even being spotters for others in the gym who they did not know, but supported nevertheless. Other gymgoers were not playing on their phones or hanging out in the gym, showing they were all there for a reason. After a good 90 minute workout, I went back and spoke to Chad. I told him I wanted to get a membership, paying for an entire year up front. Chad was able to do all this without pressuring me at all, which seems to be uncommon in the gym world. He lets the gym and the culture the staff at Fitness 1 has created, along with others in the gym, sell the product. All of this came with no hidden fees, which is just icing on the cake. Fitness 1 is a hidden "gym" in the fitness industry. It is an example of what all gyms should be and should be mirrored.

Its the cycle, so that you give up. Ive had 2 issues with them that I tried to clear up with zero success. It was easier to just cancel (pay the fee) and start a new gym. I left a debit card with my name on it and went out of town and called to see if I left it there. They wouldn't verify with me. They said I had to come in person to speak about lost items. SMH I explained my situation but they could not tell me if they found my debit card. I had to cancel my card only to find out later they did have it. They have terrible costumer service and would not recommend them at all based on the management. Its a discount gym, but the service is what was discounted not the equipment

I've been a member of Anytime fitness for over a decade and I have NEVER had a manager knock on the door to rush me in the shower. This goes into why I gave this location a 3 star. They only have one shower room and one regular bath room. This isn't good enough! Most Anytime Fitness gyms I visit have two showers and two regular bathrooms. He doesn't speak to me until he needs to knock on the door to rush me....if we worked for me, he would be fired (I've had over 20 employees in different business I've owned and I've only had to fire one...this guy would be #2) So, if this managers objective was to make me never come to this gym again, he succeeded. On to the next one - :-)

The spa staff are also so kind and I got one of the best facials I have ever had before at the spa.I'm obsessed with all the classes they have available including hot yoga, barre, and orange theory type class. I love they have daycare for my little one and they host so many social events. It's kind of like a country club without the golf course. It's also a great place to get your work done if you don't have an office or a noisy household. The reasons I had to give 4 instead of 5 stars are they do not let infants be there longer than 1 hour and you have to reserve which is fine but if you take a class you can't finish the whole class and be back in time to get your kiddo. Also the slots for infant care fill up a week in advance on the weekends. Classes are amazing but if you miss they take attendance and email you with a slap on the wrist which I understand but you can't cancel if it's within 2 hours of the class. With all that said, this is probably one of the best gyms I have ever been to and is a great place for families. They have tons of social events as well with awesome photos ops and great drinks.

Despite this, I was instructed to complete another set. During that final set, I injured my back badly enough that I could not walk afterward. At no point was the exercise stopped, reduced, or modified when I reported pain. I still can't squat, my back isn't fully recovered. Afterward, communication was disappointing. When my husband and I later explained that we needed to pause training due to finances, we received no response. Regardless of certification or experience level, a trainer should prioritize client safety, listen when pain is reported, and communicate professionally. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Update: After posting this review, the trainer contacted me and offered me money to take my review down. Since he can't contact me he reached out to my husband regarding my review. I am adding this update for transparency.
