They have a few rooms to play different handball and croquet games. There is a basketball court , sauna, whirlpool and swimming pool. The restroom/ Locker room was very clean . The only thing I didn't care for was looking at the pool, it can use a facelift. The bottom of the pool is discolored and needs to be redone . Same with the whirlpool. There were also IMO, not enough cleaning areas. None were close enough while I was working out. I had to search for the cleaning stations. That leads me to believe that a lot of people don't clean the equipment before or afterwards. I made sure that I did because I do no want to get sick from other people germs.

So, yes there is a pool, but it badly needs to be resurfaced. Whole pool area seems rather dingy, severl of the lighting fixtures don't seem to work. There has also been a leak in the wall in the pool area (not in the pool itself) for months that has gotten progressively worse. The whole wall area has bubbled up and is molding, with the tile floor at the bottom starting to look pretty nasty. There has seemingly been minimal/no attention given to this. The rest of the gym looks pretty spacious, locker rooms are decent.

I was recommended by a friend to try Fitness 1 due to the quality of equipment as well as the old school atmosphere. The communication with Chad prior to visiting was great. He welcomed me when I came in and showed me around the gym, explaining how it was laid out and where I can find certain pieces of equipment. This included equipment like the pendulum squat, which can't be found in most commercial gyms. He also showed me where much of the power lifting equipment was and even discussed the childcare. I spent the next 90 minutes using amazing equipment such as Rogue, Precor, and my personal favorite, Arsenal. The culture in the gym was great. Everyone was working towards their own personal goals, all while supporting and assisting each other. They were even being spotters for others in the gym who they did not know, but supported nevertheless. Other gymgoers were not playing on their phones or hanging out in the gym, showing they were all there for a reason. After a good 90 minute workout, I went back and spoke to Chad. I told him I wanted to get a membership, paying for an entire year up front. Chad was able to do all this without pressuring me at all, which seems to be uncommon in the gym world. He lets the gym and the culture the staff at Fitness 1 has created, along with others in the gym, sell the product. All of this came with no hidden fees, which is just icing on the cake. Fitness 1 is a hidden "gym" in the fitness industry. It is an example of what all gyms should be and should be mirrored.

My younger son knew his son, our wives were introduced to each other, been to many fitness events with him, music video shoots, I've supported his political campaign on his Facebook page all that. We have messages going back in forth for years. BUTTTTT if you leave Metroflex Phx, I'm telling you, he'll post and post and post about how your a crybaby and you'll never get fit without being at his gym. I was pleasantly surprised when Bailee streamlined the process without any pressure. She also offered me free trials of membership benefits like the red light therapy and the brand new cold plunge! Bailee was so friendly and helpful in assisting me in deciding on how to proceed with my membership choices in a non committal way like I wanted. A gentleman named Jake gave us a tour and was very respectful of the limited amount of time I had to spend on the tour. He also explained all about the included classes and ammeneties available at each location! A great part about Mountainside fitness is that they allow 12-year-olds to join so that means my daughter can come with me! I could not find another gym in the area that allows children under 13 to attend so I was really pleased at this privilege. I also liked that all the memberships allow you to go to any location.! Beware *Don't get involved with this gym and/or the trainers there. I have personally seen illegal activities occur during my training. I ended up needing to get a restraining order Against this trainer/ owner. Not scorned, not upset, justice was on my side this time. Just a warning. Dont Trust Them!!! I won't name names, but with a quick glance at the reviews, it's easy to see as it's obviously flooded with recent good reviews about one specific person.

I feel this is a huge mistake as this location is so family rich. The girls in the kids club have made a huge positive impact on our kids, it's helped them to socialize with others, learn how to strengthen their bodies and build confidence in the process. This decision by EOS is causing us to have to leave the gym and search for a new option. I'm sure they will loose a lot of families because of this. I think it's a huge mistake on their part to remove the kids center and we are very sad that we will be loosing a spot where we felt safe, happy, and confident because of the amazing staff inside this kids care center.

Sure they did construction for a few days, but that needs done to improve services. The staff has always been kind and attentive. Yesterday, I was truly impressed by the employee who was cleaning the men's locker room. He was putting detail into cleaning and really left the locker room very clean. My only criticism isn't the fault of the gym but the result of having a successful gym. It gets very busy in the afternoon so when time allows I just come in the morning. I've gone to different gyms in Phoenix and have always appreciated EOS. This is not my preferred location but it is the closest to my house. With that said, this is still an amazing gym that will help you reach your fitness goals.
