The equipment offered a range of machines and I like the way they separated the equipment upstairs, and into different rooms downstairs. They have a few rooms to play different handball and croquet games. There is a basketball court , sauna, whirlpool and swimming pool. The restroom/ Locker room was very clean . The only thing I didn't care for was looking at the pool, it can use a facelift. The bottom of the pool is discolored and needs to be redone . Same with the whirlpool. There were also IMO, not enough cleaning areas. None were close enough while I was working out. I had to search for the cleaning stations. That leads me to believe that a lot of people don't clean the equipment before or afterwards. I made sure that I did because I do no want to get sick from other people germs.

I was told I needed to physically come into the gym to deal with the cancellation, despite the fact that the location is over an hour away from me. So let me get this straight: you're perfectly happy taking my money remotely every month, but when I want to stop paying you, suddenly I have to rearrange my life, lose time, spend money on gas, and drive more than an hour just to tell you I'm done? That doesn't feel like customer service. It feels like an obstacle deliberately put in my way. And when your livelihood depends on your time and your money, forcing someone to waste hours of both just to escape a membership they no longer want is not some harmless inconvenience. That money matters. My time matters. My livelihood matters. At this point, I don't feel like LA Fitness is simply providing me with a bad gym experience. I feel like they have made themselves an unnecessary financial and personal burden in my life, and I am absolutely done being treated like my time and money don't matter. I was recommended by a friend to try Fitness 1 due to the quality of equipment as well as the old school atmosphere. The communication with Chad prior to visiting was great. He welcomed me when I came in and showed me around the gym, explaining how it was laid out and where I can find certain pieces of equipment. This included equipment like the pendulum squat, which can't be found in most commercial gyms. He also showed me where much of the power lifting equipment was and even discussed the childcare. I spent the next 90 minutes using amazing equipment such as Rogue, Precor, and my personal favorite, Arsenal. The culture in the gym was great. Everyone was working towards their own personal goals, all while supporting and assisting each other. They were even being spotters for others in the gym who they did not know, but supported nevertheless. Other gymgoers were not playing on their phones or hanging out in the gym, showing they were all there for a reason. After a good 90 minute workout, I went back and spoke to Chad. I told him I wanted to get a membership, paying for an entire year up front. Chad was able to do all this without pressuring me at all, which seems to be uncommon in the gym world. He lets the gym and the culture the staff at Fitness 1 has created, along with others in the gym, sell the product. All of this came with no hidden fees, which is just icing on the cake. Fitness 1 is a hidden "gym" in the fitness industry. It is an example of what all gyms should be and should be mirrored.

Beware *Don't get involved with this gym and/or the trainers there. I have personally seen illegal activities occur during my training. I ended up needing to get a restraining order Against this trainer/ owner. Not scorned, not upset, justice was on my side this time. Just a warning. Dont Trust Them!!! I feel this is a huge mistake as this location is so family rich. The girls in the kids club have made a huge positive impact on our kids, it's helped them to socialize with others, learn how to strengthen their bodies and build confidence in the process. This decision by EOS is causing us to have to leave the gym and search for a new option. I'm sure they will loose a lot of families because of this. I think it's a huge mistake on their part to remove the kids center and we are very sad that we will be loosing a spot where we felt safe, happy, and confident because of the amazing staff inside this kids care center.
